LOL, in the last 3 week's, {since my initial 75th Birthday Buy. Which started this & you, incidently !} I have purchased over 100 CD's & 2 LP's PLUS a CD player for my Stereo. I only had a Record Deck fitted to the Amp & NEW Warfdale Speaker's I purchased a couple of month's ago. I have 2 portable CD's player's but now up-graded to the "Seperate's System" >>> First I fitted my DVD player in to the system, now I can't wait to "un-box" my TEAC CD player and choose something to listen to. >>>>>>>>>>> Alan, you've INSPIRED me in to taking an interest in Music again. Yes, you can buy really Good CD's for next to nothing. I've been buying "BUNDLE'S" off eBay that work out at about £2.00 each, including the postage.... 6 Allman Brother's, 4 Lucinda William's, 8 J J Cale, 3 Roxy Music, 4 Garbage {which they definitly aren't LOL}. Soooooooooo, a really foul, wet, crappy day. Ideal to do nothing but listen to CD's through. All the best. Keep Well. Michael.
Michael - that's fantastic - congratulations. As I like to say, this is truly the golden age of buying CD's. The only problem, it can become an addiction. I can't stop buying because the deals are all over - next to nothing to get great CD's, but need the time and the space. But hey, as addictions go, this is a great one. Very happy for you. You've made me very happy too. Music is truly one of the great joys of life...and what a blessing it is. You've made me so happy to know, I've added some additional happiness to you. Wow - thank you.
It's always difficult not to pick up bargains if you see them but I am running out of room. Coincidentally I was watching video's of Bob James' 'Sign of the Times' yesterday, very entertaining.
Oh that’s so cool. It’s true. We have to get them as these deals and finds won’t last forever. This is truly the golden age for buying CDs. But the room and the time. That’s a constant issue I’m grabbling with too.
I wonder if that McCartney 1980 thing are the dead end Tug of War recordings? He got Wings together after releasing McCartney II, including Denny, and they recorded various songs when Paul stopped the procedings feeling they needed more direction, and he thought of getting George Martin in. Then John was murdered. When the Tug of War sessions started again it was without any former Wings members, the relationship with Denny having soured. That Nirvana box is still my most seen video by far. Wonderful set. Just the cover in itself is really great. I need to get more Winter. I have Second Winter, awesome album. I used to look at my brothers LP of that when I was very little being fascinated by the picture of the two albino brothers.
Thanks for that great information. I had never heard that information before. Apparently this bootleg CD Rude Studio Demos 1980 is all vocal and instruments by Paul McCartney. I haven't listened to it yet, but apparently they sound great according to websites. So I doubt it the Wings versions, which would be cool to hear as well. I'm looking forward to that Nirvana box. I'm not a big fan of theirs, but looking forward to taking a dive into them. Especially hearing the acoustic versions which seem to be a lot of on the boxset. Yea Second Winter is a classic. I always loved Johnny's Saints And Sinners album too.
How can you not keep feeding your addiction when you get so much music at such a low price? This haul is really a great score. Happy listening, no matter how long it takes for you to get through your backlog. Think of it as always having something fun waiting for you.
Extremely disappointed Alan......That haul sure looked like it was gonna fall all over the place. You are so addicted that I can see the track marks on your arms😂🤣 I was thinking you would be out there on the hunt this weekend. I had that Nirvana box set. Unfortunately, it drowned in the Katrina flood waters. Mine had a metal cover. It survived the flood. I have most of the Mick Ronson stuff. Most of them aren't very good. He always needed a partner. However, the guitar playing on all his albums is wonderful. And actually, his last album, Heaven And Hull is a wonderful album . Pick it up if you don't have it. PS...you really count well😂🤣😝
Was a close call. Yea the Nirvana box does have a metal cover. I should have pointed it out. I have Heaven and Hull. And really like it too. You nailed him though. He’s really a sidekick. Slaughter is pretty good though. Thought there would be more guitar. With all the Mike Garson on it sounds like an ok Bowie album.
Another great Haul. It would be hard to stop buying CDs if the content is excellent and cheap. For the money, I would have bought everything you got, no question. In fact I just picked up that Edgar Winter disc used a few days ago. Never had it on CD (Ronnie Montrose on lead guitar).
Thanks. Listened to the Winter Cd twice yesterday. So good. Nice variety of song style too. Surprising ballads. Really good beyond the classics we knew.
The first three 8-tracks I ever bought was BTO 2, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and They Only Come Out At Night in the 8th grade. I haven't heard that record in its entirety in probably 40 years. It sounds better now than it did then. Oh by the way, it's raining here in Syracuse right now just like Seattle. I can't get away from it.
damn 300 backlog is crazy. but youre right its an addiction. i’ve done better than i thought down here in charleston. I’ve picked up maybe 15-20 new CDs/vinyl since ingot here but i think last year when i was here for work i picked up twice that. although i got 3 wks to go here and next weekend there’s a punk flea market near my hotel i wanna check out and the great Monster Music’s monthly sale days are coming. cant believe that dude just threw in that Nirvana box set.
Yea. Was a dump of a thrift store. He didn’t care. Was just like take it. Lucky score. You’ll be getting much more and looking forward to your haul video. I never had a backlog in my whole life up until a few years ago. It’s terrible. I hate it. It’s like pressure. But what can we do.
Great observation. I’m also a horror movie freak my whole life. One of my all time favorites too. Saw it in the theatres when it first came out. So great.
That's a hell of a Hall and I understand about the storing of the media. Too good of a deal to pass up and I really love these days of the cheap CDs. I figure get them while you can Albums sold very well last year in quality and price over CDs but percentage wise year over year they slowed down. Plus Albums are being sold at high prices and people are going to slow down on Albums and do downloads. CDs are eventually going to go up for out of print product and it's going to cost more. So getting in while it reasonable and. Cheap is smart. Die hard Album collectors that want the special sets are there to buy product but others will slow down because it is not as cool. Plus they don't have a record player and they ran out of room for the Albums as art on their wall. The record Industry needs to be smart keep making both Albums and CDs and print in runs and not mass produce everything. Another wise thing is car companies and the aftermarket car stereo companies need to have cars with Bluetooth, Sirius Satellite, Back up Camera, Maps, AM/FM Stereo with CD/DVD players are options. I believe CDs are already becoming more desirable and if you don't want to carry around your collection you can get an IPOD Classic and grab music from your CD, Album or downloaded and play them on your car stereo. Yeah my storage space is limited and I miscounted my milk crates I have 17 crates not 14 crates of CDs in Milk crates. I am working little by little each day on my place and if I keep it going my place will be done in time. I have stuff that needs to get down to the dumpster that will be hard. But my bedroom is a little better because I have my new smaller nightstands by my bad. I do need to buy 2 large media storage and a couple more that will fit on my other wall. I really don't think my CDs are going to fit but I do not know how long it will be before I get a two bedroom. So my addiction will carry on, and when I can't get out to music stores I will be leaning more on the internet.
I love what you said. The future will be interesting with physical media. It kills me that cars don’t have cd players anymore. My cars are old so mine do but in the future I need that. Eventually all this excess expensive vinyl I figure will be cheap like CDs now. All the unsold vinyl that few will want compared to today. Maybe like what Happened the first time around. And maybe CDs will become hot again. It’s like a see saw. But for now. Yes. Gotta get CDs. Good luck with your storage. 17 is a lot of milk crates. That’s a lot of CDs. But at least they’re stackable
@@TheAlanRosenbergShow I bought my car 3 years ago used so it is a 2012 Chevrolet Impala LTZ so it came with the premium Bose Stereo with CD player. It will very likely be my last car and I intend to give it to my Daughter when I can't drive anymore. I think it is real dumb and disappointing new cars don't come with CD players and if I bought new I would have to pay for an aftermarket stereo. Not many choices for Stereos that have a CD player, some models have DVD players so there is a way to play CDs. To me it is interesting that lot's of people are buying Albums and they don't own a Record Player. So it is wall art, or selling with a mark up or collecting. The record Industry needs to be adaptable and being able to do runs of Albums and CDs and not make too much. Grow the record plants to print but not build too many record plants. Not too long ago they were in trouble because of illegal downloading was going on. They survived Napster and the people who were offended that they could go to jail and that bands were speaking out against it like Metallica. I had a very deep discussion with one person about how it hurts the industry and how their bands they like would get in to financial trouble and future releases may not happen from their liked artists. Plus at that time and probably somewhat true today 95% of music made was at a lost and only the top 5% produced made a profit. It is great that it is easy to find new music with social media, people can get their music heard but getting much money for their art was difficult. Artists don't make much on the Spotify etc.. to make money it is through printing CDs and Albums and touring. Going to most concerts is very costly I miss the days where I could afford to go to many concerts. I want to see the price of media and concerts become more affordable but in the meantime I will keep buying lot's of used CDs and having to figure out how to store them. When I go to record stores that carry lots of CDs and Albums I notice people are still buying new and used and new CDs.
@@richardsteele3272 you sure covered a lot of ground here but I totally agree. Today bands make virtually all their money from touring but if you’re not a big band even that can be difficult.
