This is a great message and I’m sure it will help a lot of people! Here is another true Rosemary story, We had a turkey named Rosie whose leg was bothering her. She was biting at it and it was itchy and disturbing her for weeks. We tried every thing we could think of to help heal the skin on her leg and kept it covered with socks so she couldn’t bite it. eventually we came around to putting oil that had a sprig of rosemary steeping in it, basically a rosemary oil, on her leg and that is what finally cured the itching. It cured it quickly and it cured it permanently 😁. I’ve seen studies to that show that the long-lived people in Italy eat a lot of rosemary too. Go Nature!

I buy or grow Rosemary and I Grind it up in my coffee grinder so that the sharpness is gone - makes it safer to eat. I don't want them chocking on the sharpness of the unground Rosemary needle. I also dehydrate beef liver in my oven at 180 degrees. I first sprinkle the ground up Rosemary all over the beef liver so the beef liver is pretty much covered with ground Rosemary and then I shove it into the oven - door closed (or open) for several hours. I then turn the beef liver using a pair of tongs so I won't burn myself. I have 4 "fur kids" and they absolutely LOVE when Breakfast time comes around. You should see them sit around the kitchen and wait for Breakfast. I love my Kids - and they love me too.

We had Newfoundland with allergies to chicken and corn. He would get ear infection frequently. We were washing them out but he kept shaking his head so hard he busted the blood vessels in his ears. His ears were swollen up filled with blood. He had to have surgery twice to fix the arteries. We found some natural food without chicken or corn and problems went away. You need to check ingredients for it.

I cured chronic miserable yeasty ears in my dog by giving him sardines, and he loves them! Must be the omegas that he was low on. I started by giving a bigger portion to load him up & then maintenance is smaller portions, & just once daily. Be sure they are the canned in water variety with no seasoning. Canned sardines are cheap too. I store the open can in a sealed tupperware dish in fridge to minimize smell.

I dearly wish I still had my pet care diary from 30 years ago when I was fighting to heal my cats liver damage... and stumbled on rosemary to assist in speeding the recovery of his liver. He was exposed to a well known lawn treatment for weeds (Nutrilawn). He came home shortly after a neighbor had had her lawn treated, foaming at the mouth and I could see he was close to having a seizure, so raced him to my vet. No, I had no idea my neighbor was going to do this or I wouldn't have let my cat out. He was saved thankfully due to the livers great ability to recover but I always tried to help them achieve robust health using herbal and homeopathic remedies. The vet was amazed at how quickly his liver returned to normal. All I recall 30 years on was boiling up rosemary tea and giving this to him, though not where I sourced the information. Always check if an herb can be dangerous to a specific species, and start with dilute amounts. Clearly rosemary has many benefits

@otter999: The good news is that if you avoid vaccines, and feed your pets human food, provide filtered water, you will not need a Vet. Of course, if your dig breaks a leg, you'll need a Vet.
Interestingly, the people that can't afford a Vet, have the healtiest dogs.

I read that rosemary is also a natural flea repellent for dogs. So you can use it for 2 different reasons 🙂

Thanks Doc! That means a lot... I put my little Marley's health first, sometimes above my own. That may seem foolish to some, but without her, I wouldn't be alive... Only the best for her .. every day is hand made food . She makes a difference in this difficult world and I love her for that!

It’s good for inflammation in joints also. I cook it in my dogs food as he has hip dysplasia. He seems to favour the recipes that contain rosemary.

This is also excellent for allergies/itching & any inflammatory condition: Forest Leaf (brand name) Quercetin with Bromelian, Vit C & Stinging Nettle. Zinc is also recommended to help uptake it into the cells.

This is wonderful information, mostly for my mother! She has chronic itching and she also is on a diuretic that doesn't work all that well, so I may encourage her to try Rosemary instead and see if that helps both of her issues. You are just a blessing and a wealth of information. Thank you so so much! ❤

this is a winner for me and my dog; my pup stated having seasonal issues to the point she'd licked off almost all the fur on the lower 1/2 of her body. She's a small white dog, I'd taken her to normal vet with no results, he then referred me to a vet dermatologist, I didn't take her but have spent over $300 trying to find comfort for her. 1/2 way through this video I mixed 1/4 c coconut oil with about 6 drops of rosemary oil and started lightly messaging it into her skin. about 30 min later she is sleeping soundly, her red inflamed skin is now back to it's natural pale pink. I am about in tears to have something that has given her such comfort in such a short period of time. HAT'S OFF TO YOU! THIS IS A WINNER!
