Still surreal watching someone who lives so far, come over and be close to things, places, and views we take for granted. Just as I’m fascinated each time I come to CA, IL, MI, or whatever it is I’m at
Wonderful to hear you talking about the South Coast and areas i visited on family holidays growing up. Kinda forget how lucky we are to have all the history wrapped up in castles and churches etc across the UK.
Loved this from you, I’ve watched your videos for a while now, as a fellow photographer and seeing the places which you usually shoot… and then you end up in Brighton which is where I live! Loved the comment about the pier being like Santa Monica but grey, rainy and depressing, absolutely spot on!
Dave you should’ve headed to the north of England and come to the UK Lake District. Mountains, forests history and lakes. I’m so lucky to live only an hour from there. Maybe next time.
Loved this video. Wise and comforting words about taking tourist photos. Seaford is a wonderful town. Thinking about moving there in the next year or so. Did you try Lanes cafe by the church? Brilliant place - stunning sausage rolls! And by the way - we drive on the correct side of the road, everyone else has it wrong!
Wow you are in my old neck of the woods! Was only back home just last week as I live abroad .Great video and seeing you in 🇬🇧 hope you enjoyed yourself…..feeling homesick again now. Cheers Dave.
Driving on the left in the UK is rooted in historical and practical reasons. The practice dates back to medieval times, when most people were right-handed. Traveling on the left allowed right-handed knights to keep their sword arm closer to passing strangers, a defensive move. This also let them more easily greet or defend themselves. This tradition persisted, and in 1835, it became law in Britain with the Highway Act. As British influence spread, many of its colonies adopted the same rule. Although most of the world drives on the right today, the UK and several former colonies continue the left-side tradition.
Whats a tourist photo? You go to a castle and you photograph it. Whether you're a tourist or a local it's all the same isn't it? Great work BTW The photos on your website are all bangers for mine, man. Love the photo of your mate at 5.52
I enjoy your videos but, following the link to your site I was put off by the data-hoovering barrier. No hostility, I just thought you may appreciate the feedback. Glad you enjoyed your visit.
Dave, I have bought yet another great preset from you. I keep seeing people try to replicate a leica look preset. I don't see any difference when they explain it but somehow I think I would understand it better if you did a preset of it.
Thanks for the support! You really need Leica lenses for that look. As I understand it, the M lenses have center contrast that softens towards the edges. This creates a more defined subject. No preset is going to be able to do this.
I’ve tried. I typically have done a center radial with increased clarity and contrast, then a second inverted radial with clarity down and contrast down. If I do this on my Sony GM lenses shot wide open, you somewhat get that Leica look.
Photos that demonstrate you went somewhere. Doesn't have to be some epic landscape or incredible, once in a lifetime moment. Just photos of your travel.
Ticked the 'we're ignorant Yanks' box in the 2nd minute. Well done! Imagine thinking the English Channel is an ocean and that Brighton beach is the entire UK. My God! Could TH-cam stop recommending this stuff, please?

It was so cool exploring this part of England!

So cool to have all this beauty and history right there!

Haha thanks man!
Seven Sisters looks incredible! I got to get back over to that area of the world soon.
It was awesome. Need to go back on a sunny day….if sunny days ever happen.
Relaxed and fun.
Thanks!
Loved this video, great vibe and photos
Thanks!
Great job!❤
Thank you!
Great video, thanks
Thank you!
Yep, couldn't agree more...I live in Brighton too !! Thanks for the video
Thanks man!

Definitely on the list! Hopefully next time.
You being an enneagram 1 makes so much sense.... I'm a 4 but my wife is a 1! Great video brother!
Haha yep, but I'm a 1w2 so at least I'm personable, not like those 1w9's.
WOW! I really have to go there sometime...
Worth the trip and more!
It's worth visiting!
Really dreamy shots from out that way. Great stuff, Dave. Glad you survived the plague. ;)
Thank you!

I wish we would have! We grabbed some food at a cafe in Brighton right before we headed to Seaford. Next time!

That area was so cool to visit. Hope to go again sometime in better weather haha.
Great trip, I would bet there were a Lot of Movies made at the Bodiam Castle!!!
Monty Python and the Holy Grail!
I am a E3 ... i liked this video! the color looks good to me too
Thanks!

I didn't know this and it makes total sense. Really interesting!
Always good content, thanks
Thank you!
our pebbles are such a relaxing sound
So loud haha
Finally, some proper Leica M11 Weather wet testing haha.
Haha yep. No issues!
nice job! as a hobby for me every day of shooting is like this.XD nice photos :)
That's awesome!
I’d love you to come to the Cotswolds. It’d be so interesting to see it through your eyes.
Oh man, I have that on my list! Next time I'm in the UK, 100% coming to Cotswolds.
It’s weird. I’ve lived 30 mins from Seaford for over 20 years and I think you have seen more of it than me!
Haha you better get out there then!
relaxed and unagitated. Grrreat.
Thanks!
Not rocks, Dave, pebbles!
Ahhh
I enjoyed it.👍🏻🔴📷
Thank you!

A tourist photo is a photo capturing your journey without trying to capture bangers. Just normal photos, like our parents took.
@@davidherring Gotcha
If you get over to UK again hook up with someone to spend time with in the Lake District Landscape but different to what you shoot.
I’d love to make it up there someday!
I enjoy your videos but, following the link to your site I was put off by the data-hoovering barrier. No hostility, I just thought you may appreciate the feedback. Glad you enjoyed your visit.
I’m not really sure what you’re referring to, sorry.
I live in Brighton!
Nice! Hope to come back sometime in better weather.

@@davidherring ahhh when you put it that way it makes sense, can I just do a radial gradian and bump the contrast
I’ve tried. I typically have done a center radial with increased clarity and contrast, then a second inverted radial with clarity down and contrast down. If I do this on my Sony GM lenses shot wide open, you somewhat get that Leica look.
@@davidherringokay I will try that, I have the R with a couple of L lenses
Love the sentiment that it’s ok to shoot tourist photos! I’m not a pro, but shoot what I see with Leica M11/SL3/Q3 43
Great vibe your videos, not sure why you left in disparging comments about the🇺🇸
I mean...I live here.
Come to Bath!
Definitely on my list!
Landscapes in the Uk are so depressing. Greetings from another depressing country, Germany haha ❤
Haha nah they were awesome! I’m planning to come to Germany next year!
@@davidherring yes please come!
funny when you said you don't want "old school surgery" not sure if you already know what a "surgery" means in the UK😅
Haha I know, I just thought it was funny!
How do you define a tourist photo ?
Photos that demonstrate you went somewhere. Doesn't have to be some epic landscape or incredible, once in a lifetime moment. Just photos of your travel.
Loads of sandy beaches around the coast of the UK. Head west not east Dave .. West
I'm sure! But Brighton was all rocks, and loud!
Where is your wife? 😀
....at home?

Hey %NAME% thanks for the comment.
Wow what a sour egg, you know you chose to watch this right? You got free entertainment and this was your response? GTFO 😂
