- I will show you how to configure IP cameras step by step. Although it is using CamTop app but you can use same steps in my other similar IP camera apps. For example Yousee, Cam158 etc.
Steps:
1: Turn on camera (reset it first if needed)
2: Download CamHi(was know as CamTop) form App Store or Google Play. Click Add button from top right corner.
3: Select Wireless Installation
4: Input Wifi network password (The cellphone should connect to a 2.4GHz wifi network)
5:Click Yes in the next dialog if you hear sound from the camera.
6:Noise generated from the cellphone and put it near the camera and wait about 20 seconds and the camera should play a music if connected to the wifi successfully. Restart the camera by unplug and plug the power cord. Wait about 20 seconds for startup.
7:Go back to the device list and click "+" button again and select "Search camera from LAN" then you can find the camera now. Add it to the list and you will find it from the device list.

What wasn't said was that you need to connect the camera to your router using a Lan cable first and allow it to get an ip address, after thats done you can then go into wifi settings and enter your wifi details, this is the only way I could get the cam to work on wifi, I just went around in circles using the QR code playing the silly tune and hoping for a connection, but never actually got anywhere....Notice the Lan cable in the background on the desk!

For my camera I have two options. One is lan connection and another is through the sound.

ok, so I got the sound thing to contact my camera... my camera makes another sound... but after I click Search on Lan, I can't find the camera... I even try to scan the QR code and it still not working...
it should not make any sound after connecting the Wifi. You can try cable connection first then choose the Wifi and password.
Whats the best app to use? Can't find the one you mentioned?

you can connect the camera to your router with a cable first. Then you will find it from your cellphone if they all in same network.

Also trying to find the settings to send emails and events is a pain with these cameras, you have to hunt everything down on the net taking hours, still haven't found the settings to send email when an alarm event happens
set the email in the app after connection the camera. just be sure the parameters you input is working on a computer.
the camera is good BUT the PRINTED instruccions are AWFUL and invery bad English.
