I saw a comment somewhere else on YT that you can look around at the show and see people headbanging in different tempos and none of them are wrong 😂 and it's true
The ultimate test of the snare head bang test. It’s completely straight after those first 40 seconds. Absolutely disgusting cymbalwork and fills throughout those insanely chuggy riffs from Dick. That riff after the solo at 3:48…GROSS. Dick brought a well-suited jazzy feel to Shuggah after Fredrik wasn’t able to write because of creating his music studio. His tracks like GHSIM and By The Ton…insanity.
Haha was here to mention that perfectly spaced 4/4 snare. And buried Hat clicks. Haha. Such a monster song. My favorite is that riff that whispers (before and after the whispers as well) because it's the only one that's irregular that I can jam. I get the rest but that one I groove out to. Also live.. the only time they use the rainbow lazers is this song. It's the best thing I've seen on a stage!

@@corpseflowerbaby this really is a final boss Shuggah song. So much is going on it takes multiple listens to make heads of it. Songs like Rational Gaze, Demiurge, Born In Dissonance, and of course Bleed are easy to groove to on first listen. Pineal Gland Optics is probably their least listened to studio track because it’s so odd, but that mfer grows on you like every other track. Periphery is a must listen if you want Meshuggah’s groovy riffs with a bit of clean vocals too. “Stranger Things” or “Remain Indoors”…😩
I love the tentative tip-toeing headbanging haha. This one's definitely tough to groove to in spots but I love how ugly and heavy it is

I really don't know what to make of this one. I didn't hate it, but it felt a bit off-kilter at times. At least it was interesting though! ❤
I think the off-kilter-ness is intended! There's a very recognizable discomfort to Meshuggah that really makes their sound unique!
