Why on Gods holy earth did 3 people dislike this video? This is one of if not, the most comprehensive videos on knife making. Fantastic job, very well shot. Your videography is fantastic. Well done.

Some people live in a throwaway culture, and the thought of making and refurbishing tools is an anathema to them. I love this channel, and have tried many of the projects myself in an attempt to learn new skills.

I do not comment on videos very often, but as I have some downtime over Christmas, I have been catching up on your archives. I sure enjoy your attitude. You are not a tool brand snob. You save old things and give history new life. Please keep it up. It’s a real pleasure.

Shoutout to Devon, the camera man. Most uTube videos, even the very good ones are shot with one camera on a tripod. If you are alone in your workshop what else can you do? That’s obviously not what we are dealing with here. The shots follow the action. Clearly there is someone who knows what he (and you ) are doing. I’ve been around photography for a long time. You can sometimes get a lucky photo. Right place, right time. But, nobody gets a lucky movie. It’s clear you put in a ton of time to deliver high quality content. Right on.

What an absolutely beautiful knife and a very excellent video sir!!!! This is probably the best knife making video I've seen yet. I have been trying to watch as many videos as I can because I want to make 5 custom knives with my four boys so we can all have something special to use when we spend our summer at the river learning and practicing our outdoor skills together. I love the glowing liners! We talked about using different color liners and maybe making our own micarta scales to make each knife unique to us. They are differently going to want this option as well. We have also been researching making our own pins and I'm super stoked to bring this family project together. Thank you for putting in the time to thoroughly walk us through this process!

I'd buy two more HF buffers and maybe a vise because those are hard to screw up. There's lots and lots of things that nobody should buy there - hit up flea markets or used tool shops instead and fix up an older tool of quality. Buy NOTHING from HF that uses brushes (ie; universal motors), fluids, batteries, or consumables. Don't even think of buying a machine tool, welder, or similar there. It will seem like a deal at first, but it will let you down sooner or later and you will regret it. Thus spake the bitter voice of experience. Used tools rock.

Just one suggestion, when your open the valve for any type of compressed gas bottle that is a combustible gas only open 1/2 turn. Your will have plenty of supply and if anything in the pipe system starts to leak it is must faster to shut everything down in an emergency. My old welding instructor was a fanatic about that.

Your instructor was a fanatic that did not the school shop burned to the ground. You and I are here because of good teachers. Another point for everyone to understand is that propane is heavier than air. You can have a leak that your nose can’t smell. If it builds up to the level of a water heater or furnace pilot, BOOM! A man in my area was returning a propane grill to a friend’s house. There was a leak. He lit a cigarette and blew his van to the junkyard.
