hey man i saw you correcting someone trying to say his hk sp5 had a chrome lined barrel in a reddit recently (you used a meme with two stick figure blind dudes asking if the other one saw that). cool video, subscribed.
The straight magazine was tossed out in favor of the curved design because 9mm Luger/Par has a slight taper in the case wall. A curved magazine accounts for this and results in improved feeding.
Out of the 6 MKE steel mags that came with my guns I had to send 1 back because it was hard to lock it in the mag well. Overall the quality is ok, but I think HK are a better buy at around $60 on sale. After HK my next choice would be POF. Hopefully we will see them for sale again soon. Steel MKE mags would be next on my list. Not as cheap or quite as nice as POF, but they are good mags.
I just purchased an MKE AP5 "clone" and found it quite the challenge to disassemble the MKE mags. I know the MP5/SP5 mags will fit the AP5, but wondering if there is relative ease to disassemble an H&K version mag?
I do....from HK at the www.hkwebshop.com ......they are currently out, but when you see them back in stock (soon) load up and use GIDDYUPMP5 to save 15% at checkout.....enjoy and thanks for your HK love!
@@HKShootingwithDerekG thank you I just picked up my SP52 days ago converting it to an SBR already bought a suppressor what would you recommend for a. sight to put on their and scope mount
for the current price, I would strongly encourage you to use a discount code at the HKweshop and buy German instead....$50 vs $65 for a better mag should be an easy choice....several years ago when they were $29 it made sense to get some as range blasters....not so much now!
@@HKShootingwithDerekG They are currently $80 at the webshop... Where are the discount codes to be found? there is at least one big vendor with them in-stock for $69 and that the cheapest ive seen in-stock. Thanks
The Zenith mags have worked well for me. They can be tight at first but once worn in, they have worked great.
I have seen couple of your videos now, and love the great info, but what I like is how you finish your videos with a clip of you in competition.
Stephen Miller thanks sir
Thanks for the good info. Was planning to get some straight mags for the looks but will now avoid.
What's with the tape on MP5 Mags? Is this a Bruce Willis thing?

What is the color code meanings on the
Tape used on the magazines?
a good magician never reveals all his secrets!!!!
It’s to identify which mag can be tossed on the ground for reload or not. You don’t want to toss your fancy mags on the ground lol

Derek, What about HK 40 rounders for 32 round stages? Reliable as the 30s?
The HK 40 rounders from the 70s are an option but I don't use them myself. I will go over mag options in an upcoming segment.
Mke?
cheapo ETS mags run fine in mine
awesome!
What kind of ammo do you use? I am new to the mp5 world
I made a video about ammo, it will point you in the right direction
@@HKShootingwithDerekG thank you so much. I just watched it. Thank you for fast response
POF is extremely reliable magazine as it is used by Pakistani armed forces
Even the HK mags rust pretty easily. Unfortunately.
I have not had a problem but I always clean my mags after use….sweat, water, and blood Will definitely add rust!
"Grated surplus" g3 mag $5 all day everyday. Mp5 mag $40-75 while being geometrically simpler without its reinforcement.
you won't find steel G3 surplus mags for $5...those are aluminum
@@HKShootingwithDerekG that's right there $10-15 and have reinforcement around the feedlips. Which overpriced mp5 mags dont have.
