Just awesome watching 2 people who understand movement so well. Seeing Blood Knights and Bloodthirsters basically stare at each other most of the game was fascinating compared to the lower level play I’m used to.
Ok, I’m glad that I watched this video as a neophyte vamp player. There’s so much to choose from, and I feel like I can use this as a road map for building my army
Love the commentary you do during and at the end of the video. I’m new to AoS (4.0 is my first edition) and I’m learning as you guys play. Thank you and keep it up!!
Watching the Boomthirster stare down that giant castle of enemies while the BoK player was sitting with just 1-2 blood tithe away from just summoning him back in if he died during that YOLO play was just so frustrating! Gotta go for carnage with BoK. Otherwise a very solid game though between my two armies that I play.
Such an awesome game guys! Really showcasing the power of movement and making more tactical choices to keep the game alive. Could have gone either way at the end there too. Really enjoyed this one. Great work as always!! :)
With the casting spells, there has been a change since 3rd. The declare step requires you to pick a target/s before rolling unlike last editions where it is roll, wait for unbind then declare target/s
It's only relevant for unlimited spells, and only then if you're going to cast it more than once, which I don't think ever came up. Otherwise I don't see it making a difference. Much more efficient to make the cast roll first. If it fails, then we've all saved a bunch of time.
Anyone know if the Soulblight army is showcased anywhere? I'd really love to see some pics of Neferata up close because this paint job looks really interesting!
Did you start the match with the slaughter priest on the altar? I'm not sure you can rules as written now. The terrain type doesn't allow for it, just the ability on the scroll allows you to get on in during the game.
Just want to chime in a few notes, since it's all new and things get mixed up :) Lash of the sire rolls a 2+ and then you roll a D6 to see how far you can move the unit/or make a pile in. It's one of the only things still there that makes you roll twice. Orb of Enchantment you don't have to actually be in combat with the bearer, just the target has to be in combat as is written right now. Else as always amazing work Jordan!!! Much love :)
Take a look at some of Tom Guan's lists. He is definitely in the right place with it. 3 units of dire Wolves, bella donna, Manfred, 40 grave guard and a necromancer.
@@markyp9215 Also remember your casting bonus is not just only out of combat, but also not applied to unbinding or dispelling and Magical Intervention is at -1 to cast.
I'v played a lot with a list pretty close to this SBGL's army. Exchange Vargheists, Black Knights & Skeletons to 20 Grave Guard and 10 Dire wolves. Graveguard run with Neferata & Vampirelord up the board as an almost unkillable porcupine unit, Graveguard with -1 to be hit, -1 enemy attacks, unrendable 4+, 5+ ward. The dire wolves working as a tarpit mostly, and Blood knights & Vhodrai same more or less. Every game have been almost too easy, so seems a bit too strong.
@@rub3nbalou Aye Grave guard move up the board with Neferata & Vampire lord like mentioned :) The vampire Lord is the one staying close by to give and get 5+ ward with grave guard.
@@lioneltribuo2387 I move my Graveguard in a halfmoon formation around, and then fly over with Neffy to land in the middle yes. It's a defensive formation, so you can move up on an objective and expect a heavy charge against you. But if you want to charge yourself, then that goes out the window ofc. but in my army, rest of army is offensive generally while GG + Neffy + VL is a defensive combo, often pushing middle, preferbly if there is a middle objective, otherwise move up towards the middle, want my opponent to charge me and if they don't, I charge onto their middle objective or such.
I believe they do if the manifestation has a movement characteristic or if it doesn’t, if you kill it in the fight phase. Thats when manifestations are considered units at least
The active player can unbind magical intervention right? Were the part with that cut off? Also vile transfer need line of sight right? I think in the last turn the doggies were behind the building. P.s. great stuff all around, love the channel.
A question, you can attempt to take the flanks in round one? I thought with it being worded, units not set up this turn, implied that it couldn't be attempted round one. Do units or deployed on the battlefield count towards that?
You can always unbind as a respost to a magic being cast, that is valid also as a respost to magical intervention. You can't banish though, because that must be done in your active turn. You have each phase as many unbinds as your power level and the combination you want between cast and banish. So if you banish you lose 1 cast but not if you unbind.
i watched this multiple times now, really cool game and it made me understand soulblights strenght better, thank you for that. hes running a pretty similar list to mine so it was often applicable. i just dislike about the list that with neffy, 10 blood knights and vhordrai you are at 1400p already, a shame caus i want to bring more cool stuff. im playing it with 2x10 dire wolves which work really well for me but im unsure about what to do with the other 320p i have left. we dont really have a generic hero i want so its hard to bring artefacts and command traits
Does anyone know where to find the stats for the "Malicious Sorcery" Manifestations? I can't find their battlescrolls in the PDFs released a few weeks back, and I noticed some were in use on the soulblight side in this match. Thanks in advance.
I think they only come with the General's Handbook. You can look them up in the App. They are found under Core Documents -> General's Handbook -> Warscrolls
great battle report. I personally don't like this edition of aos as I feel like it just hero and elite spam with very few infantry units. great report however and always fun to watch.
Wrath of khorne only gives +1 attack to other non unique bloodthirsters. Not himself unfortunatly. I swapped him for skarbrand in my bloodthirster build
@@Compo12344321 I do actually. Is there such a big difference from 35 45 minutes etc. plus, I love the extra explanations and stuff. They’re not longer just for the sake of it

Understanding distances and spacing are paramount to AoS tactics, for sure.

I’m right there as well!
Minor detail, but at 6:44 you only roll 2d3 if you kill a unit, not model. Might be covered later in the video!
He actually explained just that
This video was a great example at how to now play Khorne.

I liked and enjoyed this Battle report very much! Thank you for all the good work. Greatings from Spain
SB turn 4 charges, so sad... And the wards on that Bloodthirster the previous combat are infuriating. I've been there.
Bloodknights absolutely destroyed my Skryre backline guns in my last game against Soulblight. Excited to see what they destroy here!
Great game guys. Neferata and those Bloodthirsters were so nasty. Great to see

These are such great battles! Loved the opponents positivity throughout the match too
Calvary is a hill in Jerusalem, Cavalry is the word for mounted troops. Where you place the L is important.
And knowing is half the battle

You can heal 2d3 wounds to a vampire unit if you destroy a unit.
Came to add this, it's if the Vampire unit kills a unit, not a model. 👍

@Marhathor it's actually just casting. Magical intervention you will negate the -1 but no pluses to unbinds or banishments.
Great match! Both played that well. Pretty sure we seeing sbgl netfs or points increases. If not that endless spells gonna get hit hard.

How do you get the -1 attacks, with the bodyguard ability? Like an 3" pack of GG surrounding Neferata for activating the ability?

At the end of round 1, the bloodthirster could've used Power Through for that last unspent CP and dealt d3 mortals to the sword, right?
And again in round 2 - korgorath could've finished off the skeletons, since active player does their actions first, 2 open cp
Great batrep!
@8:35 remember that you don't roll again for the mortal wound. Whatever you get for the 2+ is the damage you get

💀 for 💀 god
don't think you can string those khorne dogs like that anymore, every model must be within .5 of 2 other models for coherency
Only if there are 6 or more models in the unit

My only complaint
pretty sure undead healing 2d3 requires destroying a unit rather than a single model.
Correct yea, it's either use a Fight and heal D3, or destroy a unit and heal 2D3
