Folding tail is great for saving every inch of space in a crammed shop or storage. In big cities, where hangar space is at a premium, every inch of a space you can save is great. Some people may be able to store the plane at home because of this little space saver. Thank you very much for this new gimmick!
This man is a legend!!! I purchased the plans for his Legal Eagle 3 yrs ago...called him with a few questions...we spoke for about 20 minutes...I still haven't started the build...but I will never forget the conversation!
Mr. Leonard, thank you for all your work and sharing of your designs. I have been watching your videos for years. You are an inspiration to me. I would like to build an ultralight someday and would like it to be a Legal Eagle based on your designs. Thanks again for all you do Mr. Leonard. God bless you sir.
I remember about 10 years ago i was snowboarding at sun valley and i saw a guy who was 93 coming down the mountain on his snowboard. I said to myself when i'm 93 i want to still be doing that! When i'm 96 i want to still be building airplanes. You are a true inspiration, Leonard! I have never subscribed to a youtube channel until now. Great work! Great work!
Thank you so much for working on these plans! I'm really looking forward to this design. My mission is solo, local fun flying and avoiding hangar rent. A folding wing legal eagle XL, kept in a storage container off to the side of the hangars, would be perfect. I think I'll focus on getting my tools in place for the build, and patiently await the release of your plans. Thank you Leonard and John!
Awesome Leonard, this will be great to be able to trailer, travel with ,or store. Fun and great design, thanks for your continued support of your Eagles.
Sir you are a great presenter. I was excited to see your second vlog pop up. Please keep it up. I hope to see you, the Legal Eagle folding wings and the trailer at Oshkosh in a few months.
I have wanted to build a Double Eagle, folding wings certainly would make storage easier. We have a farm so we could make space for it but making a door wide enough for the wings adds a lot to construction difficulty.
I'm building the LEXL and I've got the folding wings. I haven't weighted every piece I used for folding part, but it's will not add very much to the weight. Hope to have it all finished and flying this spring 2024. Saw Leonard at Oshkosh this past summer , he's 99 now.
Grass roots aviation at its best....your the best thing that has happened to aviation since the Wright Bros. and Taylor's J2/cub.

Good for you Leonard for reaching a great age of 96! I didn't think you were that young! Great to see you doing well!
Leonard was glad to see you on here.
Good videos as always. Take care and God bless you.
Thanks Leonard, very good explanation. We will make our folding tail following your steps ...

What is the most common error that people make building your plane?

Thank you, Leonard for these videos.
I am so happy you are working on the folding wings. I am sure I will be more likely to buy the new wings.

I’ll certainly be on the list to buy the updated plans for the folding mod.
Hey Leonard would the folding wings push the Legal Eagle outside Part 103 weight?

Lenard can a LEXL Be modified for the folding wings? Or would I have to build a new wing.
