I wish they would update this and release a high end bridge camera in like the 2-4k price range. It's a hobby for me and I wouldn't never spend 10k+ for a professional camera and several lenses and still not have anything with 125x zoom

I own the p1000 and I tell it's a great camera but snap bridge app sucks for this camera that should upgrade to something better than snap bridge I literally have to uninstall the app to reinstall it just so it can pick up the camera

The 737’s have the main gear visible under the belly. The wheels are not visible. With COVID there were few flights in the air when I shot the video. My airline tracking app. said it was a 777 headed to Chicago.
It really does seem unbelievable. Some folks who have more patience stack their Jupiter photos and get some really outstanding results. My video is simply what you can do with the camera out of the box. I’ve had requests for more videos and will work on a new one soon.
With every thing else, you zoomed in and out. But for the planets, there were just photos and no zoom. The moon can zoomed in on because it is not as far as People said it is. It's as simple as that.

At best, the quality is 'okay' when light levels are high. Once it gets overcast or gloomy, it is not much more than a paperweight. The extreme focal length is just a gimmick and much better cameras exist with less magnification, that you can crop at the long end and get better results. 2/10
It is absolutely gimmicky and caters to a small niche. Even with cropping, I have yet to hear of any camera capable of getting any shots of Saturn remotely close to what the P1000 can do - at the P1000’s price point.
@@thebeaches Yes, but once you've seen one photo of Saturn taken by the P1000, you've seen them all. It's hardly a great selling point - you can get pictures of Saturn. I bought one when it came out and sold it within three months - its weight and size, balanced with its poor optical quality, meant that virtually every application demanded a tripod to squeeze out any vestige of acceptability. It's a bridge camera that made me want to go back to a DSLR, not the other way around.
This is an incredible camera. There is NOTHING on the planet that can compete with the P1000 at its price point. The sensor is more than adequate for its application. You can take a picture of Jupiter and Saturn without a tripod.

Cheaper and far more powerful Sony RX 100 far better quality or Canon SX 70 or Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ2500 or Sony Cybershot DSC RX 10 M4 The p1000 is basically aimed at people who dont know how to use a good camera (flat earther camera of choice ) it is useless in low light has a small sensor. The only thing it does have is a big zoom lens
@@gowdsake7103 The zoom lenght is the main reason to buy the P1000, that is correct. Not good in low light, that is also correct. Used in daylight it is great, and also great fun. It can give you pics no other camera can give you. And I DO KNOW how to use a camera. I have loads of Nikon (F-mount SLRs) and Canon (FD-mount SLRs) that I use and enjoy, pluss a Nikon D4 and the Sony RX10 IV as well.
@@gowdsake7103 robotic tracking auto focus is better than manual telescope focusers with a 50lb equatorial mount- also an afocal projection rig is very long and not something you can put in your car, hop out and shutter in 5 seconds..

Any camera now can shoot 720p/1080p video. The P1000 is all about the zoom.

There are dozens of videos online where folks got great pictures of Jupiter. If you stack the photos, you can pull some really amazing shots.
