  • Gary Moore playing the blues with Pete Rees and Brian Downey. Released on Marshall's 2007 catalogue DVD.
Update: Interesting info was posted by MadMaxGreenville:
Found out something... Gary made this song up on the spot. This is the best damn improv I've ever seen and probably will ever see again. There's a posting on marshallvintagemodern.com where a person claims to have spoken with Gary:
I asked Gary what the name of that song was last night and he told me he made it up on the spot so there were no publishing issues etc. when it was broadcast. He said it's called 'Only a fool will never learn'.

Gary Moore was the greatest lead guitar player of all time ! He could do hard rock, heavy metal , the blues ! You name it , he could play it . What an amazing player ! There will never be another like him!

Exactly!! Most blues players are strictly just blues. I play guitar and I can’t stick to one style. It’s better to play all styles rather than be labeled & stuck in a box!

He had something very special, this is certain. He was left-handed, but learned to play guitar as if right-handed. He said that it gave him a better control because his left hand was stronger for the bends, and he also had better control for vibrato. Eric Gale is the same. He is right-handed, but learned to play guitar as if left-handed.
To make things even more complicated, he plays with the strings upside down, as in the E 1 is at the top instead of at the bottom.

The first time I heard Gary was in the early 80s-the song "end of the world" I was like who's that? Being a guitar player I thought I knew who was who in guitardom. I was trying to figure out who was playing that bombastic guitar. It wasn't Frank Marino or Trower, I was like I gotta find out who that is. Of course, commercial radio in the U.S. in those days was already going downhill so I knew I'd probably never hear that song again. Somehow I found out. Gary Moore.

Some of the best guitar ever played. And what a great voice. I see where the newer blues guitarists are influenced by.

ive been a gary moore fan since the mid 80's listen to him shred , go more mainstream, then become the leading blues advocate of the 90's. i had to stop and log in as this is so damn good.

Amazing!!! I love how he put hard rock heavy metal and energy into a beautiful old blues song!!! The raw emotion and talent!! We lost a great one when he passed. After hearing for the first time I often wondered why he's not mentioned with the so called "great ones", then I realize that Gary Moore was simply in a class all alone on another planet!! Just wow.

It’s been said that there are some good guitar players, some great players and then there is Gary Moore 🎼An amazing musician with a beautiful voice and soul. No one will take his place 💔Rest in peace Gary 💔

Phenomenal. What other word fits? Gary Moore was pretty much the class of the parade. Some approach him. None surpass him.
