I destroyed a Tribute. It was correct on the stand. Sat it down, took off, ailerons we're backwards.

Love you guys just got to bust your Balls.
What makes this even better is my Ultra Stick ARF is out for delivery today. But Truth be told it's the replacement for the Ultra Stick PNP that I Buried into the ground flying inverted over our field and put in up elevator instead of down. Lets just say yours wasn't as bad as mine. Cheaper to buy the ARF than buy the parts needed to fix the PNP.

You spoke to Bobby while he was setting up his plane! Thats Rule #1 Now he Jeff'd it! Maybe because I program every receiver and setup myself, and none of that BNF nonsense, I must check my surfaces dozens of times before a maiden. Then I always check them numerous times pre-flight, and insure that SAFE/AS3X is reacting properly. I havent lost a plane this way in 2 years. I've had rudders reversed, but thats the worst problem I've had, and its seldom fatal.
You guys both need to make pre-flight part of the video process, if only to set a good example 🤢

So I got this way of thinking.
If i move the aileron stick to the left, the left aileron should wave hello to me, and the opposite of course.
The reason I use this weird rule, is, I did the same as you did.
Btw a little late but the fuselage is repairable.

I feel your pain! I just replaced the wing on my 10cc stick. Took it out flying a week ago. It is cold here in the northeast. Engine was bogging after I started it. It then seemed to clean up ok. I took off and the engine died right over trees. Plane ended up 40 feet off the ground. Good news is the only thing trashed was the wing. An easy replacement. Put the fuse back on the bench and richened the carb a tad. Engine ran like gang busters. What A dummy! I know better than that. I should have stopped and thought a moment when the engine was bogging before take off. Oh well... That will not happen again! As an aside, I also reversed the flaps and ailerons on my stick a couple years ago. Another meeting in the trees. Again, just a wing thank goodness. I think sometimes I am my planes biggest problem! lol

As Elon would say, URD... (Unplanned Rapid Disassembly). Yes it happens to even the best of us; the chance we all take with our model planes, as we eventually begin to realize, they all have a date on them. Unfortunately, yours was on Day 1, Flight 1. I commend you for having the stones to put this video up that exposed your lack of attention to detail... it is a lesson not only for you, but for each one of us who watched your fateful maiden flight. Rest assured, you will never make that mistake again; I can all but guarantee that. ('cause you never say "never") You are a good man, and you will have better days. Now go back to the shop and see if you can salvage your stick. Thanks again for posting the video- I know it was painful.
The last plane I lost was caused by a tiny hole worn in the smoke oil tank by a slightly protruding landing gear bolt. I had many flights on the plane. Oil soaked the receiver causing it to fail... the plane left me, well-trimmed straight and true until I could no longer see it. I was hollering at the field to my buddies "I can't control anything! It's flying away"! Made me realize why we have the AMA insurance, although the only thing it hit was the ground... eventually. Someone returned it to me because of my name and contact info inside the plane. It was about two miles away, I would have never found it on my own. My fault for lack of thorough after flight inspections when returning the plane to "the hangar". Good Luck, my friend.

That'll polish out! Ha, a stick is an easy repair.
I used to fly with a club member whom I witnessed, one day, take off with reversed ailerons. He immediately recognised his error, calmly continued to fly up to height, trimmed the model for straight and level flight and took the back off his transmitter, flicked the switch to correct the ailerons (he was flying the pre-computer Fleet system with microswitches for everything) and continued to enjoy his flight. Cool as a cucumber. Coincidentally, though his was an OD design, his model was very similar to your stick (before your flight, not after!).
