Stepping back to analyze Poussey in this episode. So all of Poussey's scenes in this episode represent her passing into the afterlife. It makes it obvious when the very first line of the whole episode is her saying “Is this the bus to the underworld?" The friends she was hanging out with were barely in the flashbacks because this was all about her journey to the other side on her own. When her phone was stolen in the beginning, this represented her time to be pulled away from her friends to start her passing. She ends up meeting the 2 ladies at the drag show, who ignore her each time she asks for a phone to call her friends; further confirming the theory of pulling her away to experience this by herself. Inside the drag (party?), the whole display could represent what some religions would consider hell-ish sins (debauchery, cross-dressing, drugs, ect.) Another small thing, that could be a long reach for all of this, was that each person on the party floor was being told what to do, and they did it without question as if robotically. Poussey assimilated immediately, and had a total blast that night. After she's finally reunited with her friends via phone, she takes a bus to the next part of the "journey". On the bus we see many motifs, including stealing, new birth, heavenly music, more debauchery, ect. The scene reeeeally focuses on all of these occurrences (and I'm still trying to figure out how they're connected; possibly her next bus deeper into the afterlife, moreso than the first one in the opening scene.) When she gets off the bus, she's lost and alone for a moment, until these seemingly legit monks arrive with inhumanly convenient timing to whisk her off to the final stage. Why monks? More religious motifs. However, when they admit to not being actual monks, Poussey wasn't annoyed and she actually found the "monk" to be very helpful in deciding her final decision. Oh, let's not forget that the monk guy invites her into their religious improv group and allowed her to pick whichever side she wanted to be on (monks, nuns....) This represents letting her choose how she wanted the religious aspect of her afterlife to play out. These fake monks could represent how any religion can be helpful to anyone if they believe it is, even if it's illegitimate. In the final scene, she's completely forgotten about her friends and has found solace staring at the other side of the bay; "the other side" representing death, which she's ready to cross over to. Confirming this, she takes one last look at the camera, at us, as if to tell us that she's okay with this and to assure us that she's going to a place that she decided on.
This is somewhat a dejavu of what I felt when I saw Freddie Mercury smiled at the camera in "These Are The Last Days of Our Lives". Thank you Poussey. Thank you Samira Wiley
In the 57 rotations I noticed, you can't actually see the guard kneeling. Like hes not there. So that intensity was facing nothing. Idk I thought that was impressive.
I just watched the episode where poussey dies. I bawl like a baby everytime. But her ending scene. She's letting us know she's okay she is with her mom again.

If we understand the end .. we can see like 2 things .. she is alone , She is happy , She look behind us .. and tell us "GoodBye" with his beautifull smilling .. ;'CCCC I MISS THEM .... that was a beautifull end .. Quite honestly, if Piper or Alex would have died, I probably wouldn't even have cared. But when Poussey died, that shit HURT!! I loved Poussey so much! If I had to deal with a person I loved die the way Poussey did, I'd probably have gone insane dealing with these emotions!

Is it only me, or did anyone else notice how the character of Poussey evolves from like ghetto hood rat in the first few seasons of OITNB to a well educated daughter who speaks 3 languages of highly educated individuals?? Go back and see how she talks and acts in seasons 1&2. Then compare to the later ones. Would the fact that she was dating a writer/producer of the show have something to do with it???
When I saw Poussey smile in the final scene I felt a knot in my throat.. But when she looked to camera and smiled.... she looked into our souls
Poussey’s moment at the end was her gift to us, letting us know she’s okay. I weep every time I come back to this 😢
