It seems like I must be the only one in the world that cared about the active stopper ball feature on the Guardian. Freeriding, snowkiting, long glides and long tacks, it's so nice being able to pull that ball in, park the bar and rest my hands for a bit. Is there any solution for this?

If you are twisting your lines in the same way every jump, then wil the safety bungee twist inside of the plastic tube?

Good point. I had this problem with north and Liquid force bars up to the point where the safety bungee was twisted so hard that the material got weaker and even broke. So you got any issues with that After the first few months?

Hey - yes, it will. I eventually snapped my flag line in a gentle kiteloop after only owning the bar for 7 months. The mechanism that SS have put in place to unswivel the flag line does not work at all so after a bunch of front rolls and kite loops in a row it broke. I haven't seen any bar that does this flawlessly but I am going to try replacing their ring with this one www.ebay.com/itm/322768159881?hash=item4b267b4489:g:ztwAAOSwVgtZw~-d

Did you find any downside to the bar? Does the chicken loop stay "correct" after doing unhooked rotations? Thanks for review :)

Any insight on the lines? Slingshot always had such think lines that seemed behind the times. Same lines as always?

Looks like good upgrades, is it lighter than previous bars? Compared to other bars they are heavier. It would be nice if they are lighter to help with the travel weight.

It looks like the steering lines are not colored, except for the bottom part. That would make setup a little harder.

I wanted to love this bar so much but there are still 4 bigdesign flaws IMO (only 2 if you never unhook):
    1) the unswivel mechanism works super well for the bar itself but the flagline does not unswivel. Either you have to do the same amount of kiteloops/downloops or frontrolls/backrolls or your line will snap quickly. Mine broke in 7 or 8 months and the bar doesn't come w replacement. SS replaced it for free.
    2) the chickenloop is too small/rigid to make it easy to unhook/hook back in with Mystic harness. No large loop is available from SS but you can replace it with one from Ozone or Duotone.
    3) there is no mechanism to keep the leash ring up high close to the top of the chicken loop in suicide mode when depowered so when you are depowered and hook back in, the flag ring always gets caught in the kite hook. Duotone, North and a few others have a suicide speciality solution for this but Sentry does not.
    4) the knot where flagline and front line connect grinds against a piece of black plastic with kind of sharp edges. This for sure contributed to my flagline snapping (point 1) because it tore in the knot itself.
Besides these 4 points the bar is super solid. If you don't unhook, it's almost perfect. The auto unswivel when sheeting out is amazing. However, I feel like for a company that has been in the game this long, they should have done better.
If you look closely at pictures of their pro riders, they a few have made custom modifications to fix these issues.

Thanks for the feedback mate! You rock. Haha yes most pros modify their gear from the standard products. Sadly not many of us are unhooking these days. It’s 90% of what I’d like to do though. Slingshot seems to be moving away from that discipline too. I never had much of a problem unhooking this bar myself with the loop. I also didn’t have a problem with the ring when hooking back in. But I do know what you’re talking about. That always drove me crazy on my Cabrinha bar! My flag line is going strong one year out. I’ll keep an eye on it to see if there is some wear. - Rygo

@@MACkiteboarding Yea it's all good - I still think this bar outperforms competition in many aspects but for my 50% of my style of riding it's been frustrating. I have started customizing mine to make it closer to perfect and hopefully SS will work on some of these easy fixes in the next iteration.

Just a minor correction... Slingshot bars have had bungee line retainers on the bar ends since about the '17 year model.

Haha oops! That must have got jumbled in my mind while filming. Derp. They are just updated and tuck in nicely. Thanks Barry 🤙🏻 - Rygo

I really liked the under the bar depower. I am not that tall, so it is way easier to reach. Also the swifel of the SS Guardian bar is amazing. As long as you clean it after every session it runs smooth and untwists your lines without having to do anything.

That Guardian and Sentinel have been my fav bar. I upgraded the centre lines to a better 1/8" dyneema spliced all the way and lubed my swivel (OG autoswivel) and voilà the best bar ever! honestly Ozone and SS have (had?) the best bar.
The new bar looks slick but the time will tell.
Rygo, I like to send you an upgraded coated dyneema centre line if you allow it and see how those unhooks feel on your hand.
