This is the full game of South Carolina vs. Alabama 2010. This was the first time in South Carolina's history to beat a #1 ranked team. Copyright goes to ESPN. I DO NOT own this footage. ENJOY!
Great day for me. I spent the afternoon in my easy chair with my one month-old sleeping on my chest, watching my alma mater beat the #1 team in the nation for the first time ever.
I'm watching these old South Carolina clips because football season is coming back and there was a time where we would go off on great teams like Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. And Clemson fans, you're about to enter your third year of relevance. Don't forget that South Carolina until two years ago had a five game win streak against Clemson, and Clemson hasn't had that over South Carolina since the 30's. Enjoy it now, because last season when the Gamecocks were terrible they still gave Clemson a run for their money. Get a better conference.
msinism: .remember, you don't get a W cause you play in a certain conference, or a trophy. Sc's last conf title was back in 1969, their last natty was back in..oh wait, 125 years and counting with no Natty. USC, in football, has NEVER been relevant, ever, and probably never will be...:)..
Oh my gosh. As I'm watching this, all the memories from the "glory days" of Carolina football are coming back to me. This game, the run to the SEC championship, Connor Shaw taking over in 2011 to lead the Gamecocks to three straight 11-win seasons... I was in high school during that amazing era. Man I really hope Muschamp turns this team around.
The Kentucky game that yr and the auburn game the following yr had me sick also. Still, this 5yr stretch under Spurrier was the greatest collection of talent in USC history. Should've won a national championship.
I recorded this in DVD live and my newer vcr/dvd player just WON'T play it. But before I had to plug up the new player I think I've watched this ONE game over 50 times. LOL I wish that I could see it with Tommy and Todd calling the plays. That would be GREAT!!! I want to hear what they said about Garcia's DUMB Safety!
If Marcus Lattimore had stayed healthy and played four full seasons, he would have been the George Washington on the Mount Rushmore of South Carolina football.
Scott Lawson Because they got all the way to the SEC championship game, they were looking really really good that whole season, then they played Auburn for the SEC championship and got their butts kicked. Come to find out Stephen Garcia went and got drunk BEFORE the game, he performed terribly and they lost.
@@BillySinnz its still hurts just thinking about it. And we spanked the national champions Bama that SEC season. Dreams of what could have been. Alcoholism is for real. I thank Garcia for that moment of glee beating Alabama that year. I miss Steve Spurrier too. Hopefully, Coach Beamer can be just as good or better than The Old Ball Coach.
I remember watching this live. Definitely will go down as a South Carolina classic. This, along, with UGA in '12, is the most complete game I have ever seen by SC. Just shows how much we're on the rise, and more of the same is to come in the near future.
@Sirsams 552 how do you jinx the worst lost in Tennessee history? Please elaborate on 100+ years of college football 😅😅😂😂,South Carolina beat Tennessee worse than every SEC team has ever beat Tennessee and beat Clemsux in their house, reshaping the CFP
@@andrewivester3636 dude that’s like forgetting everything from 2014-2020. We are on the rise again, but we unfortunately didn’t make it to any championships under Spurrier after 2010.
Both Alabama and South Carolina were just too inconsistent in 2010 to do really big things. Both would have some games where they looked like world beaters, then lose to teams they probably shouldn't. Do you have the 2009 game in HD? That was a pretty hard fought game and I can't find it in any kind of decent quality.
Bradley Pritchard It was electric watching coverage on television. Being at this game? Wow, is all I can say. I was at the games in 2000 when we broke our losing streak and again the next week when we beat Georgia. I imagine those were nothing compared to this game!!
Best weekend of my life. I was a student at the time. I remember not having classes on Friday so I woke up at 11 and didn’t go to sleep until Sunday night.
You know. I LOVED this game. One of my fondest memories as a USC fan. Problem with this is I can never forget how sporadic garcia could be. Unbelievable that we can go from winning this game to losing to Kentucky the next week. Nonetheless, thank you for the upload. It was a great trip down the good times of memory lane :)
As a Bama fan, I've been waiting on a rematch since this. In 2013, both Bama and SC lost games they shouldn't have, and didn't get to meet in the SEC Championship like they were supposed to. 2014, SC just sucked so badly they had no chance at winning the East. Hopefully 2015 will be the year.
I know that Garcia sucked for most of his career, but this game really was great for him. He threw multiple fades and out routs where if he misses by even an inch its an interception, NFL type throws. It did help that he had one of the greatest receivers in SEC history to throw to.
Taft Amen!! Games like this are why Spurrier brought him to Columbia. Too bad they were few and far between. This game on this afternoon was a thing of beauty!!
This is the definition of a team under achieving and Garcia having the absolute best game of his life on this day. Alabama was the better team. South Carolina had the better day, and deserved to win.
Watched this game the Saturday of my 10th birthday with all my buddys in the neighborhood and family. When we won we ran around the neighborhood swinging our shirts over our heads. Go gamecocks baby
I was 9 and went to the zoo the day of this game. Got back in time for kickoff and watched it. Me and my nephews went crazy after the win and went outside and threw the football reenacting the game. Great memories.
Wow; complete stuffage of Alabama's Run game. 17 rush for 64. AND 6 Sacks?! I only watch old CFB games if they're close AND have lots of rushing, but that's just me, You South Carolina Fans go ahead, relive the complete dismantling of Alabama's Offensive Line!
marktastic86 believe it was 2013 when they finished #4 in the nation,so yes they did come close. Had it been a year later, they would've played in the 4 team playoff.
kmsharley75 So did Oregon once upon a time. That's not competing "annually." I'll be pulling for SC against UGA this year, though. Their QB and RB are a solid combination.
I miss Steve Spurrier and Im not even SC or FL. This isn't even the Fun and Gun anymore with Lattimore they were a typical SEC 'pro style' offense run n play action offense. Just the crashing the stern head coach party with shit talking.
If your a Gator fan, you must be a fan of Steve Spurrier.Steve Spurrier won the Heisman Trophy for the Florida Gators in the year of 1969.So, there you have it.Heisman Winner/One of the best(if not the best) SEC Coaches in history.
Since 2010 in the Saban era, it’s the only SEC team Bama hasn’t beaten. Will they get that one win in 2019? Tagovaiola haven’t met real home field advantage yet.
well i dont really think the SEC is declining, this part of the country is still producing the best talent and fortunatly most of that talent stays in the SEC, i know GA lost to Clemson and Florida to Miami this season already but Ga had a freshmen secondary and their first game was against a great offence...and FL idk what happened to them their defense was great but their offense needs a change
You know, it might not be easy being a Carolina fan, but damn we had some pretty epic moments.
Those epic moments was the result of having Steve Spurrier as head coach
Garcia could play he was Best QB they ever had... Spurrier could recruit why they got Clowney...
The way Verne Lundquist says “Touchdown South Carolina” gives me chills still to this day
That and the CBS SEC intro beat. Iconic.
He hated every second of it,he's an SEC west Homer and admitted to it.

Marcus Lattimore is my favorite Gamecock football player. My son idolizes him to this day.
He was amazing. but I never felt like he was 100% after his first major injury
Tomtom10101 well now he is
Lattimore was an animal. That injury was a shame. It's almost like "The Best That Never Was Part 2". He was so good.
I love him always have...breaks my heart he is so over the top Woke now...still love him

Greatest Gamecock victory of all time, hope they do it again this weekend!!!! GO-COCKS!!
Brian Burns I was gonna say that
Thank you Stephen Garcia...
i can’t take a team serious that says go cocks 😂
At Notre Dame in ‘84 was also one heck of a victory.
@@tristenclark bet you'll take it seriously when it's an L in your win loss column 😅😅
I always forget how much NFL level talent was on this team. Really a nostalgic moment as I prepare for another year of praying we will be plus .500.

This is the best game I've seen USC play. Garcia was on FIRE!! Alshon Jeffrey was SPECTACULAR!! Spurrier called a great game, too.
Its so fun going back and watching these games and hearing names you recognize as NFL studs

This comment didn't age well, as I just watched Will Muschamp on the sideline for Georgia in their bowl game against FSU... smh
Amazing thing is the 3 guys, Ingram Jeffries and Gilmore are still kicking it in the nfl. Amazing talent. But Roll Tide.
Jeffery no,but everyone else yes
I miss the good ole days with Garcia and Gilmore man that was a good game
Too bad García got drunk on success (and other things) and got dismissed in his senior year
Should have beaten A.U that season but Cam was the come back kid. The ending of that Kentucky game had me sick.

What a huge win for our program, this really put us on the college football map
It really was. It was the signature win SC has desperately needed all these years, and it's put them on the SEC powerhouse since.
And now they're gone
J Mabry lol
Now they are right back in obscurity where they belong.
How do you get the idea that I'm a racist?
Garcia was the most naturally talented USC qb, but Connor Shaw is the greatest Gamecock qb ever. We should've won the natty under him.
I recorded this in DVD live and my newer vcr/dvd player just WON'T play it. But before I had to plug up the new player I think I've watched this ONE game over 50 times. LOL

they said "first loss for Greg McElroy since 2001 in Middle School"
& the Spurrier era is the greatest thing to come to South Carolina
He's lucky colt McCoy went out the game in that NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game,Alabama was crap
The gamecocks WRECKED bama on that day
If Marcus Lattimore had stayed healthy and played four full seasons, he would have been the George Washington on the Mount Rushmore of South Carolina football.
Alcoholism destroyed the Gamecocks destiny in 2010. Smh.
Scott Lawson Because they got all the way to the SEC championship game, they were looking really really good that whole season, then they played Auburn for the SEC championship and got their butts kicked.
