  • We decided to make a mid-afternoon stop in Montgomery, Alabama to visit The Hank Williams Museum. The museum is filled with authentic memorabilia, including Hank's 1952 Baby Blue Cadillac. The items tell the story of his life from his childhood to stardom. Warning: You will be singing Hank songs for hours after your visit. The walk through downtown Montgomery proved to be a highlight of the stop. Historic buildings house restaurants and hotels. We ran across bronze statues of Rosa Parks and Hank Williams. We enjoyed lunch at the landmark Chris' Hotdog Restaurant. Many famous people have dined on fine hotdogs since the restaurant opened in 1917. It claims to have been one of Hank's favorites, so we thought it was an appropriate choice! The nostalgic atmosphere did not disappoint and the dogs and burgers were fantastic!
