BOONDOCKING ON THE RIM OF THE BADLANDS - STEER PASTURE OVERLOOK

After watching many other RV TH-camrs enjoy the experience, we have finally marked camping at Steer Pasture Overlook off our bucket list! The area, part of the Buffalo Gap National Grassland, is beautiful with plenty of room for camping along the rim of the Badlands or in the prairie grass. The roads were dry and easy to navigate when we visited in June 2022. We enjoyed temperatures in the 60s at night and in the 90s during the day. Us Florida folk can handle the heat, so not a problem! The area is located outside of the Badlands National Park. The approximately 30 mile drive to the Ben Reifel Visitor Center was scenic and easy to navigate. We took advantage of the picturesque pull offs along the way. We loved the experience and plan to come back someday!
