    spray bottle with a bit of soap (to breakdown the oil/PEG) is TOTALLY UNDERRATED. You can literally just spray away all the paint then use the microfiber to dry.

      I just put a couple small drops of dish soap in the spray bottle, and good to go.

      I always used a mix of rubbing alcohol and water. Probably a 70% water 30% alcohol mix. It cleans the oily residue off and makes everything dry quicker.

    Funny, you put the tank thread protector on there back when I was a kid they didn’t have it and I actually had a tank that I used to go through O-rings every other time I put the tank on and off because the top flange was bent and used to pinch the O-ring

    Awesome list! I would add a tech mat(mouse mats work to), as some fields have gravel pits in the safe zone, or picnic tablets were you can drop down parts.

      That's a good one. I have an old baby changing pad for mine, lol. The fluffy fibers keep things from rolling or bouncing off.

      But dropping little screws in mud and gravel is half the fun of learning how to play paintball, it's like that and getting bunkered while fixing your gun.

    Having an old, soft bristle toothbrush is also handy to go along with the spray bottle of water and microfiber for cleaning. It gets into come of the crevices on masks and markers a bit better, especially on grips. I starting keeping a large spray bottle in my stuff back in 2007, and I've since switched to a smaller one because it still holds enough water, and it takes up less space in the gear bag. I picked up a small spray bottle of Cat Crap lens cleaner, and it does an excellent job at cleaning and de-gunking lenses without being harsh (pretty natural and non-abrasive ingredients).

    Now I feel old. I can remember when the first pod swabs (I just called them podgees) and ball haulers hit the market.
    Before the dedicated ball haulers were available, I remember taking empty bulk laundry detergent jugs and modifying them to do the job

    Great video! We had pod swabs in the early 2000s in the Carolinas, but I have no idea where they came from. They werent near as nice as the one in your video though, more so just a really thick barrel swab that didnt bend in the middle.
    Edit: just noticed that youve uploaded a bunch of videos in the last few months! None of them show up in the "videos" tab, but I'm just now seeing them in the "home" tab

      If you're talking about "drop forwards" and "rails", I am personally very particular and odd in my need to get the ergonomics just right there. My particular preference could have to do with me being big on running and shooting at the same time (running and running), but I would recommend something like a "Shockteck Drop 1", a "Planet Eclipse Oops rail", or a "Custom Products (CP) micro drop" and I would turn one of those backwards.

    I'D liked to have seen some kind of way to support your marker when you're off field. right now we just sit them on the table that we're at and its ALWAYS in the way or sideways or you're trying to hold it awkwardly while trying to clean it or fill the hopper. Would've been nice to see some options that remedy this bs.. lol...

    The one thing I disagree with is the mask hard case. That one is a nice to have, but a plain mask bag goes really far. My suggestion is a dedicated tank case instead. Thought they were silly and used improvised solutions long after they came out; now I won't go back. You Do Not want your tank banging around in your bag unprotected; the tank cases work awesome and basically add zero extra volume to your bag.

    • @PaintballRuinedMyLife
      @PaintballRuinedMyLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True tank case is great. I almost just did a case section kinda like I did with the tank protection section.

    Thanks! tbh I've never found a microfibre that cleaned properly, they always streaked. My best advice is to take lens cleaner and a ton of paper towels, micro fibre cant beat a solid paper towel
    Also batteries. Better to have 'em and not need em

    • @PaintballRuinedMyLife
      @PaintballRuinedMyLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true, paper towel do work better on lenses.

    • @exulion
      @exulion ปีที่แล้ว

      try and keep at least two microfibers on hand, one that you wipe all the crud off with and one clean one you go over after to try and get the rest and polish out. Maybe three if you want to throw one in that you spray with water before you dry/polish it off with the third. I haven't had any problems just grabbing a handful of cheap microfibers though, one for the initial wipe and cycling through the clean ones after that then just throwing them all in the wash when I get home with the rest of my gear. Also I wouldn't spray directly onto the mask to avoid getting moisture in/on your lenses gasket, always spray the cloth you are going to wipe with just like if you were cleaning a TV or monitor.

    • @0irtgud
      @0irtgud ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Pod swab is mainly for the field not home. Speedball arena, the teams pods are on the ground, there's dirt inside, 5 - 10 mins to gear up before the next round. What do? Pod swab the dirt out of 20+ pods and fill them back up. No time to rinse and dry on the field.
