Try to do what Malcolm does for an hour. Angus was the star on stage but Malcolm held the rhythm guitar down so tight that he deserves major props. I even read an interview with Angus Young years ago where Angus was asked what album was his favorite and lo and behold it was POWERAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bon Scott - bar none one of the top 5 rock n' roll frontmen (tremendous frontmen, not necessarily tremendous "singer"; there is a difference) to ever command a fuckin' stage. One of the greatest, most likeable gentle souls also. Miss you Bon.

Thank you for this video. What stands out is the great RESPECT that you give this legendary band. Even the more forgettable albums had a couple great hooks. And at their best they are the essence of rock. Thanks Pete, your stock just went way up for me.
I remember Angus Young once said in an interview "We've been accused of releasing the same album 12 times. Thats bullshit. We've released the same album 14 times." And we love them for it. One of the few bands that doesnt mess with the formula. With every album you know what your getting before you even hear it.
Angus nailed exactly why I’ve never been able to really get into this band with any kind of true desire, every album (and most of their songs) just all sound the same to me, but that’s a great quote for sure !
Angus is one cool dude. He even said one time that Malcolm was a better guitarist than him. In the early days Malcolm played lead and then told Angus he should play the solos so he could bang away on rhythm in the back.
Mate I recently found your channel and I absolutely love your videos! It is so relaxing hearing you speak about something you are obviously so passionate and knowledgable about. Keep up the good work! Also, some suggestions: Motorhead, KISS, Ozzy. Cheers!
I love Fly on the wall!!! My first AC/DC album when I was only 9 and played it to death!!! Of course later I discovered Back in Black and all Bon Scott era, but I still think it is a great album, good riffs and many killer songs! I get very disappointed when people say it sucks…
@@frankiecommisso48 You can’t tell me that Blow Up Your Video, Stiff Upper Lip and Rock Or Bust are better than Fly On The Wall… not in a million years.
My favorite albums 1: Highway To Hell 2: Let There Be Rock 3: Powerage 4: High Voltage 5: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 6: Black In Black As you can tell I love the Bon Scott era Brian Johnson era is also great also but honestly there isn't a bad album in their discography!!! My first concert I saw them in August 1979 at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles Most underrated is Flick Of The Switch most overrated is Black In Black I love it but kinda (definitely) overplayed. This is a definitive kick ass list! Love it. I am so agreed to this. Nobody can gravel like Bon Scott. He should have done Back in Black in fact there is some kind of comparison between Johnson and Scott on TH-cam here on the that song. Not sure whether it is for real or not but his version I think is even more killer!
Just discovered your channel about a month ago and really enjoy Ranking the Albums segment. Being in my mid 50's it is nice to see someone who has the same passion for music. I grew up in upstate NY in the Albany area listing to WPYX 106. I loved the way the DJ's used to put an album on and drop the needle any place they wanted and you got to hear the deeper tracks...that's what turned me onto albums instead of buying just singles. I miss those days. Now I get my deeper tracks from TH-cam. Times change..but we still keep rockin!!!
You're so spot on about Flick of the Switch. That's a dynamite album that is overlooked because of it's predecessors. Notable favorite is "Deep in the Hole"
Flick of the switch is almost all toe tapping hits, despite how poorly it sold. For those about to rock went to number 1 and is mostly completely forgettable filler. Powerage and Let there be rock blow everything away though.
Great show as usual Pete. Such a great band that never disappoints. My ranking of their catalog could vary on any given day but not a bad album in their discography including their latest (Power Up) that came out after this show.
1.- Highway to hell 2.- Back in black 3.- High Voltage 4.- The razor's Edge 5.- Fly on the wall 6.- Powerage 7.- Let there be rock 8.- Blow up your video (I love two's up, some of the most corrosive Angus licks are here, this is my deep cut pleasure). 9.- Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 10.- For those about about to rock The rest could be higher or lower depending on the day.
1980 was an amazing year 2 bands came out with new albums that had new lead singers 1 , Ac/dc Back in black with Brian and 2 , Black Sabbath Heaven and hell with Dio Both are the greatest classic albums ever.
Powerage is number 1 for me. Down Payment Blues, Riff Raff, Sin City, Gone Shootin. Four of their best songs there. The album from start to finish is bluesy rock perfection
Thanks Pete. You got me back to listening to all my music collections. I was at the Back in Black concert in Edmonton, Alberta, but all my favourite songs are from the earlier albums.
Fly on the Wall was a wonderful album with adjoining video. The whole album was awesome!!! Fly on the wall, Playing with girls, Sink the pink, Stranger, Shake your Foundations---Damn Good Tunes!!!
I think this album would rank higher if the production had not been so awful - Brian Johnson sounds like Noddy Holder singing in your neighbour’s outhouse and the drums don’t sound great either. As it is I’m surprised it did as well as it did.
Hi there it was nice to hear your ranking of all the AC/DC albums! I'm a lifelong AC/DC and I've been listening to them for 40 years. I think I pretty much agree with your ranking....wow. Thanks for the video Pete!
The Australian version of let their be rock doesn’t have problem child on it (that was on dirty deeds), but has the classic, bluesy Crabsody in Blue. The Australian versions of their early song were all way better.
For me Powerage has always been my favourite, followed by Highway To Hell, Back In Black, Let There Be Rock, The Oz version of T.N.T (always preferred the Bon era) and that's no discredit to Brian (love the fella). I agree Stiff Upper Lip is dull - though I love the last track Give It Up.
Man oh man, I was just thinking the other day when or if you would include a list covering AC/DC... Awesome job!!! ... BTW, "Flick of the Switch" is one of my favorites from the early Brian Johnson years.
Most definitely! The Cult was my first love rock-wise. When Electric came out, that changed me from mid-80s Pop music to rock. Plastic fantastic lobster telephone (someone must have been real high to come up with those lyrics - lol)
They replaced mighty Zeppelin as my fave with that album. Mostly because it took me from being a fan of a band that had already broken up to an up an comer. They haven’t let me down since.
Met AC/DC backstage in Atlanta and Bon was great. The only sensible one. signed my pass but gave it away. Still kicking myself for that. Still a Powerage best album fan.

Thank god powerage is finally getting the love it deserves. I feel that for most hardcore AC/DC fans Powerage is usually in the top 2-3. For me, it’s their best.
First time on this site.Pete seems very real and fair. I like the way he comes across.Watched the AC/DC albums ranking.Disagree with some of it, but everyone has their choices. I would like to see an AEROSMITH ranking but am unable to find it, Any help would be appreciated. NO ONE BEATS AC/DC. I have seen them 51 times since 1976-all over the East coast. Saw Bonn 2x, and met Angus 2x. LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!
Hey Pete. Were you as happy as my friends and I when we first picked up Back in Black? We were not sure if they could go on without Bon, but they took it to the house and we were so happy for the band and knew Brian could keep em going forward!
My fav's: (1) Back in Black, (2) For Those About To Rock, (3) Flick of the Switch. BIB and FOTS are great combinations of just enough studio with rawness. Regardless, AC/DC is an incredible band!! Thanks for covering them!

Pretty close to my list Pete. Heavy on the Bon Scott albums at the top. I like Highway To Hell number one followed closely by Powerage with its underrated tracks like Riff Raff!
Nice ranking! I rate Dirty Deeds a lot higher but then I did grow up with it - got it for xmas 1976 when I was 10! 1. Powerage 2. Let There Be Rock 3. Dirty Deeds 4. TNT 5. I am not a big fan, but personally I love Highway To Hell front to back and there is a large separation between that and the rest of their catalog. Not to say the rest of their catalog isn't good, but Highway to Hell is their evergreen record to me. Pete, any chance you could do a Saxon ranking sometime? I am starting to get into their catalog more this year but I am bouncing all over the place with their records, tough to choose!

I don't see the attraction of Highway to Hell (good production - good energy - title track is a good anthem) 1 Powerage 2. High Voltage 3. Jailbreak 4. Back in Black 5. Dirty Deeds 6. Let there be Rock 7. Highway to Hell 8. For Those About to Rock 9.Flick of the Switch 10. Fly on the Wall
@@zundap100 The Razors Edge has a wonderful energy to it, but is unfortunately lacking in the songwriting department aside from a few obvious highlights.

Jailbreak 10 on all the newer stuff Powerage wins out for me as it is the bluesiest album with my favorite song, Down Payment Blues followed by Gimme a Bullet; two awesome tunes with every other song being something I can listen to on repeat without skipping. Dirty Deeds always seemed under rated in my opinion. Ride On, Ain't No Fun, Squeeler,, as a "B" side type of guy, this album was the mother load. The songs that got air play are really the ones I don't listen to anymore. Highway to Hell had to be there for Touch To Much, Walk All Over You, and Night Prowler; Pure Classics. Back In Black don't get much listening to by me anymore but this album had such an impact on me. It came out when I was 10-11 and it changed me. Razors Edge is so under rated but almost every tune kicks ass. Their last great in my opinion. All the stuff after Razors Edge kinda seem like a blend of the same type of song for the most part. I have them but rarely pick them up anymore. In any event, AC/DC kicks ass and is one of my favorite bands. Seen them over 20 times and will continue to as long as they are willing to tour. My fav is Flick of the Switch!!!! Pure hard rock!!!
I agree Flick Of The Switch so underrated prob my favorite Brian Johnson era album
I get very disappointed when people say it sucks…
for sure, gets hammered for no reason, about a sexy as acadaca got.
@@frankiecommisso48 You can’t tell me that Blow Up Your Video, Stiff Upper Lip and Rock Or Bust are better than Fly On The Wall… not in a million years.
Fly on the Wall is THE hidden gem. Its loaded with pure rock and not radio friendly enuff. It grows on you bc it jams. Back in Business again! 😛
Fly on the Wall is super underrated
"A lot of us here aren't in Australia"... Classic Pete!
Star Child the Australian releases are actually so good.
My favorite albums
1: Highway To Hell
2: Let There Be Rock
3: Powerage
4: High Voltage
5: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
6: Black In Black
As you can tell I love the Bon Scott era Brian Johnson era is also great also but honestly there isn't a bad album in their discography!!!
My first concert I saw them in August 1979 at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles
Most underrated is Flick Of The Switch most overrated is Black In Black I love it but kinda (definitely) overplayed. Shazbot Nanu Nanu :)
I agree completely. Bon was the best.
@TheThonyahawk: I can also agree with your AC/DC album ranking. 🎸
I have also endured my severe tinnitus, which I have had since an AC/DC concert, with composure for 20 years. 📣
@@bertolo6524 Oh man sorry to hear about the tinnitus.
@@TheTonyahawkThanks, but no problem, I love AC/DC anyway!
I am now a bit more cautious and pay attention to my ears when I go to rock concerts.
Well stated. We all agree
You're so spot on about Flick of the Switch. That's a dynamite album that is overlooked because of it's predecessors. Notable favorite is "Deep in the Hole"
Bedlam In Belgium \m/
"Badlands" would have to be my favorite track from that album, although "Landslide" is a close second. Great album!
Nervous Shakedown has to be my favourite on FOTS!
Thank you for ranking AC/DC . 🎤🎸🎵🥁
A big yes for powerage, still have the original , brilliant album and great sounding album..
Have a great day everyone 👍
1.- Highway to hell
2.- Back in black
3.- High Voltage
4.- The razor's Edge
5.- Fly on the wall
6.- Powerage
7.- Let there be rock
8.- Blow up your video (I love two's up, some of the most corrosive Angus licks are here, this is my deep cut pleasure).
9.- Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
10.- For those about about to rock
The rest could be higher or lower depending on the day.
Flick of the Switch I solid as well
1980 was an amazing year
2 bands came out with new albums that had new lead singers
1 , Ac/dc Back in black with Brian
and
2 , Black Sabbath Heaven and hell with Dio
Both are the greatest classic albums ever.
“Twos Up” from Blow Up Your Video
Love that song
Yes! Been looking forward to this video. You just made my day!
Fly on the Wall was always one of my favorites.
Another great video. Love your channel Mr. Pardo.
Powerage is number 1 for me. Down Payment Blues, Riff Raff, Sin City, Gone Shootin. Four of their best songs there. The album from start to finish is bluesy rock perfection
Powerage is god tier I agree with you, although high voltage and DDDDC is just phenomenal stuff for their first 2 albums.
Thanks Pete.
You got me back to listening to all my music collections.
I was at the Back in Black concert in Edmonton, Alberta, but all my favourite songs are from the earlier albums.
Fly On The Wall is imho criminally underrated. My favorite
Totally! "Playing with Girls" is the shit!
Fly on the Wall was a wonderful album with adjoining video. The whole album was awesome!!! Fly on the wall, Playing with girls, Sink the pink, Stranger, Shake your Foundations---Damn Good Tunes!!!
In my top 5 for this band.
I think this album would rank higher if the production had not been so awful - Brian Johnson sounds like Noddy Holder singing in your neighbour’s outhouse and the drums don’t sound great either. As it is I’m surprised it did as well as it did.
Alco Power fly on the wall isn’t that great compared to other albums.
Black Ice is a classic! Rock n Roll dream
amazing work, Pete! and congrats on 25k subs... and counting!
Hey Pete! How about The Cult? They're my favorite band and they are still making albums! Make my day.
Oooohhh, it's so sweet seeing many people can't accept the fact that someone with a great music taste like Pete is a huge Kiss fan! Gooo Pete! And do whatever Kiss ranking you like. Maybe makeup studio and live albums?
And I really can't wait to see video with Miles Davis material!!!!
Only makeup years. Don't want 80s and 90s crap especially without Ace.
Hi Pete. Great review. Here's a hi from Brazil.
Let there be rock introduced me to this band. We all have our favorites but this is mine.
Great list. I enjoy your discussion. Looking forward to seeing Jeff Young. Also looking forward to your Cheap Trick list.
Great ranking, next you should do Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Kiss, and Van Halen

Flick of the Switch = AC/DC's best Brian Johnson-era album. Heavy as hell grooves with memorable choruses and great guitar solos.
New to the channel. Your reviews are great! You get to the point and you respect everyone’s opinions as you go. Keep it up and know there’s lots of us who love the channel. Ride on.
Ball Breaker’s title track is very powerful. I love it when it’s loud. Also, the live version is quite nice. I saw the tour and it was so cool.
The live version on no bull is crankin and heavy.

then in any order, the rest of Bon Scott era and starting with "For Those About To Rock" and then the rest of their albums.
You nailed it, in the length of a tweet!

I've at various times owned at least 5 AC/DC albums and they all sound exactly alike. That's both good and bad. If you like one then you'll like them all.
Pete, some suggestions for the 'ranking' show: Carcass, Cathedral, Voivod, Accept, Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Motörhead, Ozzy, Ramones, Van Der Graaf Generator
He did Led Zepplin already :)

Saxon too

Riff Raff - best song in the world. Ever!

Once again, x- lent selection, Pete. Veeeery happy to hear thta you´re going to cover Cheap Trick´s Top 10 Songs YEAAAH! My favourite AC/DC´s album is Highway to Hell followed real closely by Back In Black (what a comeback!) Cheers from Rio/ Brazil - André
Mike N if your not a big fan! You might like them more from their Australian releases they are killer albums.
You have nailed it again !
Let There Be Rock is the best AC/DC album ever !!

Powerage wins out for me as it is the bluesiest album with my favorite song, Down Payment Blues followed by Gimme a Bullet; two awesome tunes with every other song being something I can listen to on repeat without skipping. Legends of Rock and Roll!!
