Flick of the Switch should have been the follow-up album to Back in Black. It has the same feel and the substance and Power that Back in Black has. Not quite as strong but it's all there. AC DC were way too over ambitious when it came to For Those About to Rock. What's For Those About to Rock have besides the title track and a few somewhat Rockin Tunes like Let's get it Up and I put the finger on You and you can throw a Snowballed in there and that's about it. Go get Flick of the Switch and listen to it. It's much closer to Back in Black and once again definitely should have been the follow-up to Back in Black. Flick of the Switch is seriously underrated.

I always loved “Powerage” the most. I think “sin city” is a beast of a song. As a guitar player I still enjoy putting this album on and jamming along. They are all great to play along to. Try to do what Malcolm does for an hour. Angus was the star on stage but Malcolm held the rhythm guitar down so tight that he deserves major props. I used to dream about what gig I would take if I could replace one rock star and Mal was my choice. Just bobbing your head and cranking out the rhythm in front of a wall of Marshall stacks.

I grew up in upstate NY in the Albany area listing to WPYX 106. I loved the way the DJ's used to put an album on and drop the needle any place they wanted and you got to hear the deeper tracks...that's what turned me onto albums instead of buying just singles. Excellent ranking Pete. I've been waiting for AC/DC on this series for a long while! For me, Back in Black would be top on most days of the week, it's such an excellent album. Let There Be Rock is a very close second, the title track and Whole Lotta Rosie are absolute killer. As you mention, there isn't a single bad AC/DC album. Nice to see For Those About To Rock getting some recognition, a great album but overshadowed by its predecessor.

Pete, I am new to your channel and have to say, I am deeply impressed with both your collection and broad knowledge of music. Something you may not be aware of, in Australia in the late 70s and through to the 80s, Australia had a treally vibrant live band pub rock culture, this is the environment that AC/DC was born out of. Bands had plenty of work and usually worked 7 nights a week. It was a really competitive environment so if you were not good, you didn't last very long. Other bands that you may be interested in that were also born in this environment are bands like The Angels, The Saints, Midnight Oil and Cold Chisel, just to mention a few. It was a really exciting time for music. I suggest you listen to Midnight Oils first two Albums, Midnight Oil '78 and Head Injuries '79 (especially Head Injuries). They were about the best pub rock band I have ever seen, their live shows are legendary. Keep up the good work.

“Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be” is my favorite tune. It has made it up to the third song in their setlist. Dating a woman who is taking your very soul.....changing who you are....and not for the better. The only way it will end is when she leaves you.
I know exactly what Bon meant when he wrote this song.

I agree buddy, I jammed that song many times in my 1976 Tranz Am. Nothing like raw Bon Scott blues!

Right on!! Let There Be Rock was the album that got me hooked. "Ruby Ruby where you been so long? " Your top 5 is exactly what I tell people.
