Many dislikes here which is not fair! I think Benjamin is giving tips on how to avoid what makes you dislike the place! As for me i needed the info he gave, so not to experience these negatives, and still going to Addis Ababa. Thanks Benjamin.

Hello Benjamin, I would agree almost all the information you mentioned are true. However I am very disappointed that you didnt mention the good things about Ethiopian people. How about how you have been treated as a VIP everywhere you go. As Ethiopian who live in Canada I can related with things you experienced. But when I think of my stay in Ethiopia mostly the positive things outwAy the bad.

    hey Benjamin,
First of all thanks for sharing with us your experience of the general ways of the transport system in Ethiopia. However, you being British I feel that you struggled a bit to say what you REALLY want to say in order not to offend the country or anyone that matters...........))))) that is how I felt anyway, but I might be wrong, though............... and I wish you say more of what you think of your experience without feeling sound harsh or ungrateful, but you being "British" that is almost impossible. LOL
I know exactly what you experienced throughout your 4 months stay in Addis, I have been there too.
Saying that, pickpocketing, hussling and stealing is the norm everywhere you go in the world even in the UK and I'm so sorry to hear saying that your friend has his/her mobile stolen while traveling in a public transport I guess that is a common practice in most countries. :))) But you have given people a good tip. Always curry your belongings with you. :))
Anyways, in general the majority of Ethiopians are very decent and hard working people but there are some bad apples in every communities as you know.
So, I hope this hasn't dampen the experience you had to go back to Ethiopia. :)))
    Once again thanks for sharing
    P.S BTW...You look sweet LOL
