This was a group that came from a time when talent and not the "look" of a band determined everything. And with the Gibb brothers...they were just blessed with talent! Barry, Robin, Maurice, and Andy (who was a solo artist, but did perform with his older brothers) just had it all. This is, hands down, my favorite Bee Gees song. The strings backing the guys, the harmonies of Barry in falsetto, Robin layered in, and Maurice on the lower range...just magic. And the lyrics are probably the most romantic in pop music history.
Your face said everything...you were enthralled! Yeah...they had that power. RIP, Robin. RIP, Maurice.

I listen to, and enjoy, some of the heaviest and most extreme music out there, but I *love* beautiful love songs like this too, and I wish that we still had bends doing them today! Auto-tune really messed up the music business. Being close I remember listening to a finished album & Producer playing it for me saying. Sound great huh thanks but they can’t go on tour to sing in person. He took a terrible group I heard the day before and the next day he comes back I thought it was a different group- producer just did his Studio magic. Think about it.

They never wrote a bad song in 5 decades. You should be dancing also has their younger brother Andy singing with them. Andy also was a song writer and was successful in his own right. He wasn't a BeeGee because he was so much younger. Barry announced Andy would be joining the group in January 1988 but unfortunately he passed away early March just days after his 30th birthday. It's so good to see another generation discover what we grew up with. They wrote their own material as well as for many other artists including Diana Ross, Celine Dion, Dion Warrick, Barbara Streisand and Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. Also wrote with Michael Jackson.

During the Disco era, they did a song called "Stayin' Alive" that became a mega-hit. Ironically, it has become the song that the American Heart Association selected as the rhythm of CPR. The rhythm is exactly the pace of the compressions to save lives. So, now the title has a double meaning, "Stayin' Alive" helps keep people alive.

As the story goes, Barry was called last minute to come up with one more song and it needed to be slow and romantic song for the movie 'Saturday Night Fever" He went into his recording studio one early morning in Miami as the morning sun shine began to shine into the studio as he sat at the piano, he played around with a few bars for a few minutes and all of a sudden as if from God himself, the words and the lyrics and the melody came to him as he sang and played it for the first time, with several band members in total shock. You can look it up and find the making of "how deep is your love" The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb were my first love and My heart still feels the same every time i hear their music. Me and my best friend to this day have the fondest memories as teenagers listening to them for hours and hours. They are angels! Poor Barry is left without his brothers.

And yes….they’re among the greatest song writers of all time and even wrote songs for other great singers (Islands in the Stream, recorded by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers).
Check out their song, “For Whom the Bell Tolls”.

Ray Bull completely right! This is one of the RARE occasions when you happen to put the one of the best lyrics with the greatest harmonies to some of the most phenomenal music ever recorded by one of the best producers.. Timeless and arguably the greatest love song ever recorded...

Loving your reactions. There's a purity to the Bee Gees that stayed all through their 40+ year career! An amazing rabbit hole of hits. Try Staying Alive, Fanny be tender with my love, Run to Me, How can you mend a broken heart, Jive Talking, You Win Again...just to get you started. And yes, they wrote all of their songs as well as songs for Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, etc. Barry Gibb is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for songwriting. You have a lot to enjoy coming up. My favourite band for over 40 years!

They not only wrote all of their songs but wrote hundreds more for others artists of the 70’s and 80’s. Many of those songs were also hits. “Islands in the Stream” performed by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton is one example, a huge hit in the 80’s that rose to #1 on the country charts was written and performed first by The Bee Gees.

Past their DISCO DAYS, The Bee Gees STILL had wonderful harmony together. I'd love for you to hear their song called "You Win Again." It's another song of theirs I love. I commented on your reaction to "Too Much Heaven" by them, and, I can honestly say that I don't know which song by them I love the best ... So, I would also like to see your reaction to "Words." It's another great one by them. TY for sharing this video.

They started their singing careers as children really. They were on Australian television in 1960. I listened to them when I was a teenager and a young adult, then as they got older I still listened to them. I'm 70 now, and I couldn't agree with you more. They're fantastic.

I was so fortunate to see them in 1979 at the Summit in Houston, Texas during their Spirits Having Flown Tour. An unexpected surprise was she John Travolta came out and danced to " You Should Be Dancing ". I've never heard a crowd screaming so loud before or since. It was too wonderful to actually relate !

If you need more material, watch some Joni Mitchell. Amelia, Coyote or Clouds.

Sadly Barry is the only one still living, and he's still singing and making albums. Absolutely love their music and voices. ❤❤❤

I was a young man of 18 when that song came out. My first girlfriend and I were so in love. Even today at the age of 61, I remember her face and eyes, as if I'd just seen her. We celebrated the fourth of July together, at my home town's park fireworks in 1978. We had a blanket spread out in the grass, on the ground and enjoyed our time together, but after the fireworks ended, which was about 10 p.m. we stayed. I'd brought a small radio along. There's wasn't a cloud in the sky. We laid there in each others arms, talking and kissing, and just being a couple. We were there till 1 a.m. The park police drove by a few times, and never approached us. I think maybe they realized that this was a magic time for the two of us. Then this song came on, and at that moment we were both taken by it's beauty and truth. We'd each heard it numerous times, but were taken by it and both of us teared up. I'll never forget the Bee Gees music, or my first love, Katy. To this day, when I hear, either, Too Much Heaven, or especially How Deep Is Your Love, I'm taken back to her and my memories of my first love Katy. The Bee Gees, Billy Joel(Just The Way You Are), Air Supply........ They taught me what is, and the beauty of, romantic love. I still tear up at times when I hear their beautiful loves songs. I truly mean this...... I hope you experience the same. Love doesn't have to be wasted on youth. It's the romance and feeling of having someone that reaches and touches your soul, that's important.

The greatest 3 part harmony you'll ever hear. They wrote 100% of their own songs. Even better listen to the songs they wrote for others. Islands in the Stream for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. Heartbreaker for Dionne Warwick, Immortality by Celine Dion and a whole album for Diana Ross including Chain Reaction.

I was blessed to have been around during this time period. I even got to see them live in concert around this time, the summer of 1979, and I have to say, there really has been no recording, cd, dvd, blu ray, that has really done justice to what it was like to have been in the same room with them at that time. I spent half the show with my eyes closed just listening to those harmonies. Some of the sweetest sounds I have ever heard.

I really, REALLY, appreciate your authenticity. It is so AWESOME to see someone actually enjoying listening to a song FOR THE FIRST TIME, and truly listening instead of snapping fingers, whooping, hollering, screaming, commenting during lyrics, excessively swaying and fidgeting, etc., and/or doing a poor job at acting as though they didn't preview some or all of the video before recording and downloading it or actually being familiar with the song and passing it off as a genuine 1st time reaction. Watching your body language, particularly your eyes and facial expressions speak volumes as to how you are feeling about the song/music without all the over the top verbalizations found on too many of these YT Reactors channels.
I applaud and commend you on your authenticity and integrity.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for "Keepin' it REAL".

Omg, your reaction is so pure! I’m 69 and the first time I heard that there are people with all this modern equipment who had never heard the BeeGees! I wondered were all these kids incarcerated or on another Planet? Or what happened to their Parents? Why have they not passed on all that “organic”music to their kids like my parents did for my Siblings and me, and I did with and sons?
Any way I loved your reactions -so pure -made me cry to see you react with so much “Theta” ask any Scientologist what that is, and you,yes you, will get it!!!
Yours ❤🎉😂is a theta reaction to things on and in the Theta wave band ; thank you for you pure honest reaction to that Theta song that was ahead of its time, and still serves as an ideal example of what pure Theta is and where it comes from -the Heart and how it’s put in words that simply conveys “I LOVE YOU” for all to admire! Like “Earth, wind and Fire!” Put your hands on their music as well , then some “Freddy Mercury” and “Elton John’s - Rocket Man” listen to the lyrics before you sing along and my favorite, Steely Dan’s “Caves of Altamira”
I totally enjoy your honesty of reactions to music from a time when there was no way to electronically manipulate a singer’s voice, like Johny Matis’ voice Cherish the voices and pass them onto your children!
