Wow! That unprotected left turn at 24:20 was the boldest robocar left I've ever seen! It wasn't necessarily dangerous, but Waymo cut the corner into the empty oncoming lane, and pulled in front of a bicyclist and car! To do that, the Driver had to know the position and velocity of the bike and cars in front and to the left at the same time, which would be hard for a human to assess accurately. It shows the engineers are trying to ramp up the assertiveness factor to make the Waymo Driver less annoyingly cautious, probably to reduce the amount of honks it receives and please impatient riders.
Cyclist is slow , I think that's the main reason why Waymo took left turn , Lidar and radar can definitely know the speed of any vehicle and if cyclist is going fast , waymo will not do it because doing so mean definitely accident ...now it did because AI analysis is 99% chance I can make left turn without hitting cyclist .. I will also take turn if bicycle is running slow because there are many cars behind me but my brain analysis may not as accurate as AI because of tiredness or distraction@@Hansence
The cyclist wasn't that visible! He was wearing dark clothing and didn't seem to have a light on his bike. I could easily have missed him until I was committed to the turn.
I’m actually glad we’re programming assertive AI. A grandma driver simulator will never sell in the market

I don’t like this behavior, especially when a bicyclist is present and in the intersection.
So?@@Hansence

Holy... LA is insane. Absolutely incredible videos
The driving was amazing the right on reds were so good that last one was maybe kinda cutting it a bit too close, but it drove well.
Not the best at left turns, but even on right turns it seems a bit close to the parked cars..
The ad blocker on my iPad skips the red lights like it’s an add because of the countdown clock! Im pretty shocked 😂
12:10 two pedestrian countdown lights? 🤔
16:27 Is that the GTA V pier by chance
I think one of them is pointed diagonally so people know the scramble crossing is allowed
