    I changed plugs in my 2017 Impala 3.6 today.
    AutoZone sells a 3/8 drive 5/8" magnetic spark plug socket attached to a 3/8 drive 10 inch swivel extension.
    I was able to remove and install the plugs using this tool and the magnetic socket held the plug so that I was able to remove and install the plugs without any difficulty.
    The plugs were held securely by the magnetic socket for removal and installation.

      I will go and get the magnetic socket. Thanks.

      did you have to remove the intake manifold?

      I did remove all of the intake manifold bolts and was able to swing the manifold out of the way far enough to get to all of the plugs@@muhanned700

    Great video. Can you do my wife's car now please? I guess i need to find a mechanic that can take it apart without screwing anything up and put it back together without screwing anything up. Not to mention the only way you will know if this job was done correctly is to do it yourself.

    Hey, I plan on doing this soon on my 2014. Just hit 97,800 and need to do plugs and trans oil. My question is: should I spend the extra $50 and replace the intake manifold gasket while I'm in there, or is it a safe thing to skip??

    • @ezauto1911
      @ezauto1911  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You should replace the intake manifold gasket because the manifold is removed.

    My question is when tighten down the manifold do you have to go in that sequence or will it be a issue/problem if you don't, see you forget the sequence of tightening the Bolts, Thanks in Advance

      It may cause leaks due to uneven torque squares. The gasket may not be compressed properly.
      The bolt torque pattern is in 31:15

      Don’t plan on buying a ford either then, or a dodge, or Kia, at least with a Chevy you CAN do the work yourself. Some of the ford trucks and cars now have special tools required just to remove the plugs let along you have to unbolt the motor mounts and hoist the engine 4&1/2 inches just to get enough clearance to pull the plugs out of the side of the block.
      Stick with Chevy. It’s your best bet,

      But would you consider a V6 Toyota like a Camry? This Impala spark plug change is quite easy compared to those.
