This is the clearest explanation of how Transition Generation 8 lens will look that I have seen to date. I just purchased Style Color Amber. I'm quite glad it wasn't yellow. Amethyst was quite nice too.
I just wanted to say thank you because I was actually thinking I got the wrong green from what I ordered because I based what I would get back off of the transitions demo on their website. Emerald is actually a very green green in that animation of the tinting process. But after using a UV flashlight on my pair and comparing it to what your Emerald looks like in the sun it's quite close despite how much thicker your uncut lense is. I can now safely drop this discussion with my optician now. But shame on Transitions to misrepresent the color on their website and not send their retail locations enough demo lenses to show customers what they're ordering.
This is good to know, just got my new glasses with the sapphire lenses and I found they didn’t get as dark as I expected but it’s also not as sunny in the winter in Canada but they do take that edge off. Summer is probably when I’ll see the biggest different I suspect.
Thanks so much for this video! I am amazed they don't have some virtual try on for this on the website, i want to know what it will feel like looking out, not just how others see it!
I have one pair with amber and I love them. My question was can you do gradient with these transition lenses? I’m assuming not since they already come coated? Would love if you could reply 😊
Shamir offers offers their Photoglamour lenses. There's two versions. A gradient tint to solid sun tint and a light solid tint to sun tint. Both are available in two grades of colour and they are based on Transitions, as both brands are owned by EssilorLuxottica.
Hi! Anti- Reflective coating affects the wayTransition lenses work? perhaps coating block the light Transition lenses need to get darker? thank you and great vid man!
Excellent video. Question for you, after seeing this video I am curious about the amber and amethyst in relation to using them for shooting sports. I compete in pistol competitions using a red dot sight. It looked like the amethyst really increased the contrast of the surroundings and brightened the reds up. Any feedback? Thanks!
Hi i enjoyed watching your video. I have a well known wayfarer type chunky black frame from Tom Ford fausto. should I go for traditional gray or a green? I appreciate your opinion
That's a tough one because both will look great! If you want the darker of the two, then I would choose the gray, but if you want something not as common (gray is the most common), then go green! :)
I thought Neil put a wrong lens color (emethys) on my frame, but after this demo i can see that he did put a right lens color (sapphire)! However, the actual sapphire color is no where near the color shown on Transition promo broshure, very misleading. Actual sapphire color has no shade of blue at all but more like purple (emethyst) which I did not expect. Should of went for the Emerald instead! 😢
Sry 😓. We spend so much $$ and typical daily wear, so it kinda sucks to not love them. I'm in the middle of ordering and just changed my mind from watching this. I thought I wanted either saphire, emerald or amythst but going with the amber. It reminds me of my first expensive pr of serengetis many moons ago, and I loved the lense clarity.
I have my eyes test next month and I'm thinking of getting new glasses then I've just noticed these lenses a short while ago, I really like the green and amethyst. I wouldn't have known which to choose without your video.By the way have you done a video showing how Xtractive lenses work inside a car? Thank you
@@UseMyFramethis was amazing!🙂can you put these in every glasses/every brand & these the newest transition lenses or are they even newer/more improved since you made this video?Thank you so much in advance🙏
@@xyz-mc5of Yes, these Transitions can be put in any glasses. As of October 2023 (when I'm answering this question), these are the newest lines from the Transitions brand. 😎
I just had new prescription eyeglasses and have chosen Amber because it blends with everything. It matches style, both formal and for fashion. I was thorned between Amber and Emerald. Emerald in my opinion is good for merely fashion whereas Amber blends with fashion, style and formal events.
@@thoma57 I think ima switch to xtra active brown. I like amber but the extra active gets darker and faster and stays tinted longer when you go back indoors (I like)
@@UseMyFrame Question: If you chose the blue tinted Transition glasses-does that imply that they don’t protect you quite as much from blue light as the yellow-brown transition lenses? Can you do the multiple tinting on lens (meaning more than on color tent)? I have so many frames and where I’m at in Memphis TN we don’t have many options. Also how do I contact you?
I don't like how kaisers optometrist only have one kind of transition, and they don't tell you which one is applied to the lense, what kind? .. What grade they are.. Feels like their cheap transition, sun still hurts my eyes and they take forever to darken... Go somewhere else than kaiser.... I got the gray shade from them.. Or if anyone knows which transition Kaiser Perm uses on glasses id appreciate it 🙏🏼💯
The latest generation of Transitions (Gen 8 shown in this video) will help block some of the blue light indoors, but not as much as a separate coating. Will probably suffice for most, but those that do a lot of computer work, might opt for the separate coating.
@@YouCanChangeYourWorldToday Regrettably Yes...I haven't experienced the amber, green, & brown. But please don't think you're going to get a color to match your expensive frames for a different look. I was worried about the color being too overpowering!! But these are actually really nice !!
great video, thanks a ton for putting care in this. i'm so torn between the amber and brown.

Thnx nice comparison was confused but now clear to choose my color.
I got sapphire in rimless frame and it feels light and vision is cold in outdoors. Great.
The way that pickup truck arrived without any noise and this quick took me with a surprise. It was like a wizardry.

Hi, I don't know if you stock Zeiss lenses but I'm curious to see the difference between Zeiss's Photofusion X and Transitions.

The emerald green looks really dark
Thanks for the video
Couldn’t really tell but which would you say blocks more light - amber or emerald?

Great work on the video mate, just about to order this video has made my mind up thanks 👍
Have you tried the mirror ones ?
Nice explanation…❤
What is the effect of gold flash mirror? With the blue flash mirror, the image is a yellow gradient with very high contrast.
I’m about to get one today not sure which blocks out more light amethyst or Sapphire
I wish the purple came in Xtractive..maybe someday!
Amethyst
What coating do you recommend to get on glasses?
An anti-reflective coating always improves the clarity.
Is transition signature color amber multicoated indoors?
No, it's clear. If they appeared colored to you in this video then it might be the overhead lights, etc.
Which lens do you think is the best? zeiss-seiko-essilor-rodenstock-transitions?
Ở Mỹ có bán kính nào mà nhìn xuyên lá bài trong điện thoại không
Are these xtractive as well?
No these are regular Transitions (not the XtrActive).
