It is a godly awesome monstrosity and most annoying
If you wanna beef up the tc's well, I recommend to get rid of the triangle the tc is on (and everything on that triangle) and replace it with evil wurst's 8(16 if armoured) rocket external tc roof bunker design
I build this today and it’s amazing I customized it to have turrets and I don’t think raiders will have a fun day raiding me thx for the awesome base design
since the foundation steps no longer exist and the new steps dont work, you can now place a square foundation and a stone ramp on top of it to make a similar anti-doorcamper peak hole in your airlock. edit: you wont need the low wall if you use this method.
for anyones outer foundations decaying and dont understand, the 2 side foundations OR the sides with the external tcs, the external tcs take care of the ones that arent connected to the actual core and then the front and back foundations are connected to the base ONCE you put your wall connectes from the foundation to the core, or where the honey combing is.
@@Blu.1 okay so when u do ur 2x2 and start making the outer foundations or the shell of the base, some people are confused on why and how the foundations decay because they thought it would be connected to the 1 (main) tc. since both the front and back are connected already the side foundations are supported by the external tcs therefore not causing those foundations to decay anymore.
@@Blu.1 then after you build up all your walls, for the outer foundations, they will connect as one and therefore your main tc will take over the whole building and the 2 other tcs are now external tcs so when they raid your main tc, they cant build bc those tcs take over, forcing them to raid those tcs too if they want full control
A few suggestions for improvement I would consider critical to the success of this base in an actual wipe (This is after playing around with it and using it in a wipe). 1) This design, as it is, is impossible to rebuild after a raid, even a failed raid, which is rather awful, so with that in mind a few suggestions are in order: 1a) build additional triangle foundations around the 'floating square' foundations of the corners. This will allow you to rebuild them after a raid and will make sure the whole shell doesn't collapse if the floating square is destroyed. Build such outer triangles from every shell foundation (not possible from all foundations), and ideally metal them all. Otherwise the whole base is gone even if the raid fails. 1b) To avoid catastrophic roof collapses to raids (even failed), make sure to scaffold as much of the base as possible. This is especially important if you adopt suggestion no.2 (below), but will actually end up cheaper to upkeep. 2) There is no reason to have 3 TCs when you can have 5. Follow the outer-TC build plan all around the base. Increases cost to raid, lowers upkeep to a point where the inner core is like a pretty cheap solo base cost. (Well, there is a reason: stability. But you can offset that pretty easily) 3) external peekdowns are very helpful. To achieve this with proper stability the inner peekdowns have to be nerfed a bit to gain stability for another floor. I suggest that in the square foundations in the midsection of the outer shell (those not in the corners but above the entrances) will have two triangles attached to them on both sides (mirroring the placement of triangles in the shell foundations), and these be scaffolded properly. This allows for another floor to the base, with peekdowns, strengthening the base against both offline raids and hugely strengthening it against online raids. 4) The first floor of the base is weak. It is HUGELY strengthened by partitioning the outer-shell area with door-frame scaffolds that go up to the inner peekdowns. This is possible and especially strong after the peekdown 'nerf'. On the first floor put garage doors, on the second scaffold put prison cell walls (or nothing even) Then you can place turrets on the 'bedroom' ceilings (the first floor corner rooms) covering all of the inner shell, making it a nightmare to raid even offline and increasing the raid costs and time by a whole lot). 5) First-floor entrance to the 2x2 is very weak. I suggest instead to close the 2x2 completely and allow entrance only from the third floor. Do this by placing a door between two of the honeycomb triangles of the core, leading to a chute with 2 ladders. This is more 'alone in tokyo' inspired. This also allows you to have 2 levels of roof-bunker with chutes leading down to the core. Weakens the 2x2 a bit, but only a bit, especially if you armor the chutes. 6) Metalling the whole external shell is cheap in upkeep. Much cheaper than you'd think. At least with 5 TCs. Most definitely a worthwhile investment. Any active trio can upkeep it with minimal effort. The core TC, even if you add a whole fourth floor with peekdowns and a fifth floor with heli hangar, AND HQM the honeycomb and inner walls of the first two floors of the 2x2, can be upkept for 3 whole days. 7) Armoring the 2x2 roofs and walls is of course a must, but armoring the honeycomb triangles is also pretty good and not very expensive to upkeep. Even if you add a peekdown floor and heli hangar, armoring the first 2 floors of the 2x2, including honeycomb, it will cost about 200HQM per day. Yeah its not for you if your trio doesn't isn't active, doesn't raid, doesn't do cargo etc, but it's hella strong. 8) A suicide bunker for the TC is pretty effective in this design, potentially adding a whole 15 rockets to get to TC and main loot (explosives/GP) 9) If you don't go the 'no doors 2x2' route, you can at least place a workbench lvl3 at the entrance to it in such a way where you can't go in without rotating it, requiring either many rockets more to enter or control over TCs which is exhorbitantly expensive. 10) The plan for the foundations leading to the external TCs is needlessly expensive. Simple metal stair foundations cut the price quite a bit and maintain the same durability. Perhaps the entrances can have another square or something to make them stronger but other than that, I'd go with stairs. Well there's more but fuck it, not so important. The first 4 are the most important for wipe viability I'd say. I wouldn't use the design without those.
Hey, I really like your points, and share the majority of your opinions on strengthening core and externals, but is there a way you could make a video or post some pictures somewhere expressing this better? Rust building isn't exactly clear to follow via text, and I'm sure it would help others.

This base design takes up a lot and a lot of space but it's really good if you find the perfect spot for it. I've sadly wasted thousands of stone on a server just because I thought the base would be build-able but it was too high up like 2 times.
6:03 the two squares is not long enough to rebuild after loosing main TC you cannot replace it without never having external TCs again or have your externals as two mains. to stop this issue of a self grief do 3 squares out instead of the 2 before putting a triangle with TC. This still stops raiders placing a TC on your main foundations even if they put it outside your airlock, you can rebuild the TC locations without being too close to your main TC Building Privilege bubble and having to destroy foundations. The extra 2 squares on both external TCs still give you complete privilege of the whole base when main TC is gone.
I know its an old video but a tip to everyone making this still you can make the inner peaks a bit differently snapping to triangles next to each other on different tcs which gives u a tiny gap to shoot in between
i made 3x3 hjune base with the peak downs but added taunted peakdowns aswell which works pretty good i just gotta tweak some stuff with the base honestly might make it my main
PloxinPlays nah a lot more than that, I mean just count the walls. There is atleast four walls and I would say that one of those walls is armored, two is sheet metal and the last is stone, so that brings the raid cost to 36, which certainly can be upped with minor upgrades.
good base only thing i dislike is the peaks, when building try to avoid 2 triangles connect to one other tile, you'll loose the peaks, try add them to the corners cause if a group pummels they usually go in the middle of a side, you can keep the peaks and keep defending even if core is gone. another way to improve peaks is a roof stacked version where you have smaller angles which give you easy to shoot out of hard to shoot it. other than that solid base, personally i would try add a bunker if possible, maybe if there space on doors into peaks so you cant loose peaks if your getting door raided
Never played this game but I love watching these vids. Is there a sandbox mode in game where you can practice building without having to worry about pvp? I know there is a mode for practicing your shooting and bow shots but not if there was a practice mode for buiding.
does adding roofs to the top cause the external tcs to demolish? I think it causes the main tc and external tcs to connect and therefore self destruct but not sure if thats the reason.
I would recommend adding cross peaks and "Zedge" peeks on the shooting floor for easy raid defense and a good sneaky way to access the roof during a top down raid defense. Other than that great design
you keep talking about the stability of the base... if the base is raided, could the base topple on itself due to stability issues from destroying some walls or door frames?
Some of the base will topple yes, but not the important parts. If the raiders hit the core of the base, a good portion of the shooting floor might go down, but by that point it's gg anyway. In short you don't need to worry too much about the base falling to pieces.
What is the purpose of the double half moon trick in the second step? I mean wouldn't the foundation be in the correct spot if you just put the three triangles and then the one foundation out???
I love your vids man I wanna test the build before I build it on an actual server. How do you build it on a server with no people attacking like in the video?
Once I get a computer that can actually play Rust, I plan on building a medium sized base like this and just grind to make a huge high quality base to make everyone tempted to farm to raid it, only to have basically nothing inside just to fuck with them.
guys for the airlock peaks instead of foundation steps you can do a foundation and then a vehicle ramp, its honestly better cause you can shoot through the middle of it (EDIT: THE RAMP IS BEST AT SHEET METAL)
Hey Kimchi so I'm currently on a server rn where I kind of fucked up somewhere along the way (not sure where) but I'd really appreciate a quick reply. So I finished the base to about where you're putting the half wall triangles on the roof and I noticed the square foundation directly adjacent to my door was decaying. I panicked and removed all my TCs because I figured my main one was too far from the foundation (the square was the one built off the external TC). Then when I proceeded to try and put them back with my TC more in the center of my main, I could not place my externals back where they were. So in order to stop everything from decaying I had to build 2 triangles back on both my externals (it was saying 'cannot stack privilege'). Now I don't believe my TCs are properly stacked because I had to move them back. I figure the only way to know for sure is to destroy my main one and see if the outside one takes over?
Sorry, man. I was asleep. In this case, I would place the TC back in the core of the base and then I would use a jackhammer and pick out the triangle foundation on each of your external TCs. From that point you can place a square foundation and then another triangle and slap the external on the triangle. This will make your new external TC one square further out which is no big deal.
@@KimchiRust amen dude u da best thanks! also liked your video and throwing you a sub with notify on. I didn't really check out all your channel yet but the quality of your base build was amazing so thank you! I look forward to your channel blowing up

I would like to give some great advice, when you build the base you have 2 options, #1st Learn the build so you dont need to watch the video again if you forget, #2nd Do the base while the server is deserted 0-10 people at max do you won't get killed!!!

Was wondering if you know if there is a difference from the way you did it and the way I did?
It's true. Peakdowns aren't very useful in an offline raid. It's still around 24 rockets to TC once the base is complete, but I think if you're anticipating an offline raid, a more meta bunker base might be more ideal.
@@KimchiRust Yeah, that's exactly what I tried today, it's ok, but it lacks the the fact that you were on ground level with the stairs, which is not doable with the ramp.
i think the upkeep to protection cost is really inefficient. I mean this base is only viable for a small group that is always online so you can defend it. The fun part would be...well defending it from a raid. it's still just a 26 ish rocket raid if you drill straight to the core. for solo duo trio you wouldn't build this I would opt for something with auto turrets and traps so when ur offline you have some defense.
Fair enough, my man. I've built it solo a couple of times now and really liked it. I enjoy that it's modular and you can progress from starter to main. If I get the materials, I will eventually move out of this base and build something chunkier though.
Sadly the time has come I believe we are gonna need a revamp on this build the new corner feature with building wrecks that gap when doing the honey comb and than continues to just go downward from there if you have any fixes or go around please let me know
i keep getting raided and my main tc gets destroyed so then i have to destroy my externals and it won’t let me place them back after i place my main tc how do i fix this??
make sure to make your outer tc's atleast 4c4 + and after latest building updates u cant fix the thing u want to fix. maybe if u upgrade everything to metal actually

A few suggestions for improvement I would consider critical to the success of this base in an actual wipe (This is after playing around with it and using it in a wipe).
1) This design, as it is, is impossible to rebuild after a raid, even a failed raid, which is rather awful, so with that in mind a few suggestions are in order:
1a) build additional triangle foundations around the 'floating square' foundations of the corners.
But you can offset that pretty easily)
3) external peekdowns are very helpful.
On the first floor put garage doors, on the second scaffold put prison cell walls (or nothing even)
Then you can place turrets on the 'bedroom' ceilings (the first floor corner rooms) covering all of the inner shell, making it a nightmare to raid even offline and increasing the raid costs and time by a whole lot).
8) A suicide bunker for the TC is pretty effective in this design, potentially adding a whole 15 rockets to get to TC and main loot (explosives/GP)
9) If you don't go the 'no doors 2x2' route, you can at least place a workbench lvl3 at the entrance to it in such a way where you can't go in without rotating it, requiring either many rockets more to enter or control over TCs which is exhorbitantly expensive.
I wouldn't use the design without those.

does adding roofs to the top cause the external tcs to demolish? I think it causes the main tc and external tcs to connect and therefore self destruct but not sure if thats the reason.
THANK YOU!!! Amazing tutorial for first time. Better than others, again THANK YOU!!!
How did you work all that out from the 5mins of footage on hjunes videos, big pp
HJune released a VOD on twitch where he built it
www.twitch.tv/videos/543814562
On the roof part, can the garage doors be facing inwards, I have way to make it convenient but I'm not sure if they HAVE to face outwards?
Nah, they can face inwards
@@KimchiRust Ok thanks
The squares before doing the honey Combe of the 2x2 are decaying the ones u build off the tcs
Mine too! Idk what we did wrong
Now that foundation stairs are gone. What would you recommend using instead? Ramps?
I'm honestly not 100% sure just yet, brother. I would recommend just filling that area with a high square foundation instead.
should i still put the slit in the airlocks even though foundation steps are no longer in existence?
I use metal barricades instead
Yes! Going to build this one tonight after wipe :-)
Great base made some tweaks to it to suit my needs :-) electrics for the wins
Your a great you tuber bud just subscribed keep it up
What is the purpose of the double half moon trick in the second step? I mean wouldn't the foundation be in the correct spot if you just put the three triangles and then the one foundation out???
Can you chuck in the comp and material cost for all the deployables?
I will include that next time!
5:05 mike joey - mathmatics, a man of culture i see! youve earned a sub
i noticed that too haha, i was like " i recognize this beat"
haha, its an amazing song which many usually dont know about
Looks really awesome. What's the upkeep though?
th-cam.com/video/P6mXdVECyUo/w-d-xo.html
I made this but also integrated in a 2 by 2 bunker
Great job bro
I love your vids man I wanna test the build before I build it on an actual server. How do you build it on a server with no people attacking like in the video?
PAPI_AQUA hes on a build server
Good vid man, very helpful.
Sub to my YT kimchi. You are featured in one of my raid defences
But now you cant add foundation steps because of the recent update where they are now not foundation steps, but just steps.
You can put metal barricade instead
4:30 is build
Once I get a computer that can actually play Rust, I plan on building a medium sized base like this and just grind to make a huge high quality base to make everyone tempted to farm to raid it, only to have basically nothing inside just to fuck with them.
have fun with that mate
guys for the airlock peaks instead of foundation steps you can do a foundation and then a vehicle ramp, its honestly better cause you can shoot through the middle of it (EDIT: THE RAMP IS BEST AT SHEET METAL)
Ooo, nice!
I look forward to your channel blowing up
@@KimchiRust is 2 squares further out okay? I couldn't do 1 for one of the sides
@@OverAchieverStudios totally man. Its only going to add a tiny extra bit of upkeep.
@@KimchiRust hey brotha i ran into another issue. for the shooting floor i can't get above 7% stability on the triangles hanging off away from the external TC's and i'm not sure why. this stops me from throwing up those single doorways. i've tried putting wall frames under but nada yet
I would like to give some great advice, when you build the base you have 2 options, #1st Learn the build so you dont need to watch the video again if you forget, #2nd Do the base while the server is deserted 0-10 people at max do you won't get killed!!!
Lefty-lj what servers do you play on that have 0-10 pop?
@@lightning9370 bruv all i said it was the base is hard to dm while just looking at it then copying got killed doing thst a lot
@@lightning9370 2-10 including you i was saying 0 people except you because a really high pop like the one i play on have around 10-50 at night and up to 100 to 200 at day and i caught i glince of 6 ppl online so i did it at that time
Love the video but how many rockets is it?
If upgrade correctly around 60 or so.
its like 24 to tc
great vid man. good job .
this is nuts
So I figured out how to build this abt a few weeks ago and have been using it, and when it comes to the part of building out squares and building back half moons, I would just build out 9 squares, then build back with 4 half moons... Was wondering if you know if there is a difference from the way you did it and the way I did?
I built this exact base last wipe. It feels incredibly vulnerable to offlines as doors to main loot are few. Thoughts?
It's true. Peakdowns aren't very useful in an offline raid. It's still around 24 rockets to TC once the base is complete, but I think if you're anticipating an offline raid, a more meta bunker base might be more ideal.
The base is very strong against online raids but kinda weak against offlines. Especially for the pricetag
Rest in Peace stair peeks, you will be greatly missed for defense
update> i found that u can use ramps for the same effect
What do you have to do to replace main TC if it gets destroyed? Doesn't the overlap cause problems there?
The base build was amazing i loved that you included the top down view but you didn't include the upkeep so what is it?
Oh never mind im just stupid i read it wrong xdd there is the upkeep great video
I should have put it earlier tbh haha
And im subscribing and building this base TODAYS wipe and looking forward to new base builds by you ☺️
Gg bro. Looks awesome. What's the point of that weird process for external TCs? To see how far before main TC stops?
Its so they dont connect to main
did building 4.0 change anything major or is it still viable
Foundation stairs doesn exist anymore, do they ? Airlock with the peeks has to be reguessed...
Unfortunately the foundy stairs are no longer. You can still create an effective peak using a car ramp though!
@@KimchiRust Yeah, that's exactly what I tried today, it's ok, but it lacks the the fact that you were on ground level with the stairs, which is not doable with the ramp.
pog champ
This is amazing, love it.
Can u make a quick video explaining the outer square decaying problem!
i think the upkeep to protection cost is really inefficient.
I don’t like those holes in the walls where you can see outside can you change that ?
You can put wall frames on the inside and that covers the gaps. Make sure they're stone as stone wall frames have the biggest model.
Kimchi ok, thank you
So what is total upkeep ?
here after watching hjune teach shroud how to build this in OTV server
TRUE
how much is the raid cost? when fully upgraded
Sadly the time has come I believe we are gonna need a revamp on this build the new corner feature with building wrecks that gap when doing the honey comb and than continues to just go downward from there if you have any fixes or go around please let me know
There are some modifications you can make to improve the design, but it still works as it used to! I built it this wipe ;)
@@KimchiRust Haha same here, its a godly base isn't it? Really doesn't affect the design much with the 4.0 update
I made this base but a 3x3 instead, it maybe possible for a 5x5 haven't tried
I wouldn't go for a 5x5 with this footprint 3x3 works quite well but there are still much better designs.
i keep getting raided and my main tc gets destroyed so then i have to destroy my externals and it won’t let me place them back after i place my main tc
how do i fix this??
make sure to make your outer tc's atleast 4c4 +
and after latest building updates u cant fix the thing u want to fix. maybe if u upgrade everything to metal actually
