  • So what is the CRF300L like at high speed on a winding road? We find out here. Everything is stock, including the tires. How does it handle curves at speeds over 120 kph? AND... what happens when you encounter a herd of bighorn sheep in a blind bend?

    Many want to ride like the professionals but don't take into account that the pros are riding on well maintained closed courses. I see it all the time.

    • @Scoottoots

      That's true. We have to remember we are riding on roads that could hold nasty surprises at any moment. Ride accordingly and live to ride again.

    I love your videos. Quick question is the Honda 300L still made in Japan?

    • @Scoottoots
      @Scoottoots  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. The 300L is made in Thailand; same as the 250L was. The Thai factories seem to do a great job. My CB650F is made there also, and the build on that bike is excellent.

    Think she will do 80-90mph stock?

    • @Scoottoots
      @Scoottoots  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure. I had it up to 135 kph (84 mph) on the video and I never had it wide open. You do have to wind it out in 4rth and 5th to get the most out of it, top-speed wise.

      I had a full Yoshi system on my 250L, but it was a love/hate relationship. This one has a bit more sound to it, so for me, it's going to stay with the stock exhaust :-)

    Some Dunlop 606 tires should do the trick. Oh that ABS is for wimps anyway. lol Great video as always :)

    • @Scoottoots
      @Scoottoots  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I looked at those. They seem good. I may just go with Kenda K270's though. I may also wear these stock tires down first. They'll never be great on gravel, especially the front, but they get better on the road after they wear a bit. Thanks Rider :-)

    • @Scoottoots
      @Scoottoots  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Edit that: I looked at the 605 Dunlops. I have used D606's before and for my terrain I did not like them. They are best suited for soft loose stuff, not the hard pack and rocky terrain I enjoy riding. Plus I found them lacking on pavement, being noisy and when you lean them right over there's precious little rubber on the road. I low-sided on them when leaned aggressively.
