  • It's hot to ride lately so gotta lose some layers. Talking about a few things including more thoughts on my 2021 CRF300L. A varied ride: some parking lot maneuvers, some dirt, and some rural winding roads with a stop by the lake.

Same temps down here in Texas, early morning rides are the best way to beat the heat!

So true. I have a hard time getting out early enough to beat the heat though. Stay cool down there ;-)

Great video John , as per usual. I know that woozy feeling when things get too hot. Its rime to put the bike away when that happens.

Thanks Eric. Yes, put the bike away if you can make it home safely, or shed some of the gear. Winter is too cold to ride, summer is too hot. That doesn't leave us with much 😞though 95% of my riding is in full gear. I don't feel much like riding in this heat so the bikes are getting more garage time. Years ago I didn't mind it as much. This year it's affecting me more. Luckily I have no chance of getting bored. I have lots to do that enthuses me . Cheers🙂

It's a great bike!! getting the rallyraid level 1front/rear is a way better mod. then trying to get more power...Everyone wants more power. when suspension is the first mod you should do..

Yup, suspension is number one priority on the 300L. Honda did a good job upping the game from the 250L. All the improvements are pointless though, if poor suspension handicaps an otherwise good chassis design

Yeah, but what you can get for $160, ECU, $25 air box mod and free exhaust mod, why not? its worth every penny. I did that before i did suspension. Once the suspension was sorted out, Then I had my ECU flashed again, because they will do it for free since you sent it in once. And the motoX V2 with optional baffle is not very loud at all. The bike just keeps getting better and better.

@@airadaimagery692 The extra response from the power mods is worthwhile for sure 🙂.

The heat is ridiculous. My minimum is a Bohn body armor shirt with a highly ventilated jersey over it. kinda like MX gear, but no chest protector. and my new klim Mojave pants. Those things are like wearing nothing at all. If its too hot for that set up, I just dont go.

That's a good solution. I used to have a mesh body armor shirt and wore a thin dirt jersey on top. It had a plastic chest and back protector and it was pretty clammy feeling in the heat. I guess a person could remove what they don't like and wear the rest of the protection. It was one of the top makes. I see a lot of innexpensive versions on the market. Thanks for the heads up on the Bohn shirt. I've got that bookmarked for a closer look.

I seem to recall you are in Scotland. Sorry to hear you felt it best to give up riding, but you know what's best for you. Temperature sure makes a difference. I'm hoping for some relief from the heat. No air conditioner here so we have to get used to it and do our best. Hope you're having some fun even if you're not riding 🙂
