I’ve been looking for something to catch my extra milk! It might just be a mind thing... but when i wear the disposable pads i feel like my supply dwindles. Thanks for sharing!
I get how you feel! I use re-usable pads, but even with them I feel like it stops the flow a little bit. So I could see how it would make the supply go down.
I might sound ignorant with this question (know nothing about breast pumping) are both haakaa's used for the same purpose or is the ladybug meant to be a catcher for the day and the original for pumping? And what is the amount of milk that the lady bug can hold?
The Ladybug is meant to be a catcher (instead of wearing a pad in your bra to prevent leaking, this was an alternative so that you aren’t wasting any milk) The Haakaa is meant to be a manual pump ❤️ I hope this helped you!! I’m not sure exactly how much the Ladybug holds, but I think you can look it up
I'm sorry for the late reply, but hopefully it will help someone! This Haakaa, no. I wouldn’t. The standard one I would say probably, depending on your body, however your supply would still drop if that is ALL you used. I used the original haakaas several times myself that way when I had to be away from my son. However with this one, I would say no. It MAINLY just sits there to collect leaking, it just has a SLIGHT pull to help pull out better than other standard collection containers. Though I could see how it would be good to keep them in the first few days going to work, in case you do let down because your body is expecting it, so that you don't waste any of that milk. Especially because with going back to work you probably want to save every drop that you can,
Do you get more milk with the original haakaa? I just got the ladybug and noticed the issue of it blocking milk flow if you press it down to hard. But in the company videos on how to use it, they squeeze it first and then put it on. So I’m confused on how to use it. I will try it the way you showed. But will my bra press it to much against my nipple? In the how to videos they wear it in their bra but I felt like my bra pushed it to close to my nipple. And I do not have big breasts at all. Thank you!!
I definitely did get much more milk with the original Haakaa. I think that is more meant to collet MORE, this is just for extra random let downs that you aren't expecting, or if your baby REALLY enjoys to smack the regular haakaa off of you when they eat so that you can at least save SOMETHING, 😂 Yeah, in the company videos they don’t address not to push it in too hard at all, so it was difficult fiddling around with it to find a way that it would work better. I found that as ling as I was "up" I didn't really have an issue with the nipple pressing against the side as long as I was careful and watched as I squeezed. I am also NOT very well endowed with chest pillows, but if you position them just right it helps hide that a little though.😂
I just tried it yesterday laying down and it was totally fine! Just curious, if the attempt is to freeze along with other milk, what would be the max time you would leave it on to collect at room temp? If it lasts for 4 hours at RT, would you start cooling the different collections in the fridge after an hour maybe?
@@stephaniecroft2902 I would prob cool it and freeze it with a regular session of pumped milk. Because it is probably only collecting foremilk, so it should be mixed with hindmilk or else your baby might get gassy.
I'm sorry it has been so long without me replying! They send a silicone brush to scrub it with, so I usually just used dawn and that to wash, but to sanitize you can put it in boiling water I believe!
Walking around with a unicorn horn off your chest 🤣🤣🤣 best thing I've heard all day
I wish this haaka was out when I was using it! Would have really helped to stop the dang baby from punting it off 😂
Exactly! Now that Asjer is getting more active I think that this will be a great way to still get milk, even with the crazy wiggles. 😂
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Can I use this in place of my electric pump? I'm going back to work next week and I want to have something that I can use at work.
yes u can

Amazing review. I subscribe.

@@jaykayfamily9346 I haven’t used it at all. Our little guy is 10 months now and I’m still using the original haakaa and loving it!
Can you use this if you’re laying down breast feeding? Either on your side (baby in bed) or on your back (baby on mom tummy)?
If you close the little top flap, then yeah! If you leave it open it leaks, but if it is closed you can wear it laying down!

Thank you for the review!
Of course! We are planning on putting out a dad review of it too. 😂
How to you wash it? What’s the best way to sterilize?

IS it comfortable to wear and sleep and it spills
It’s pretty comfortable, but after awhile it does get a bit irritating to me after a few hours. It doesn’t spill though!
The haakaa with the flower is a breast pump
