I blew up my engine on my 3kgt... worst day possible for me and then I see this video 👌👌👌💯 i think it was a sign. thenk you bro for the information I will gather up my money and then gather up my materials 👌
Thanks for taking the time to make this dude, after years i got a solid enough job that i can have some money on the side and im at a point where I'd rather just start working on things myself, im high key nervous but im not gonna learn anything if i keep being puss
great video friend! i have a 95 sl that i've owned for 10 years and finally spun a bearing, so im also going to do an LS swap. i've got the front subframe from a 70 camaro and the lr4 from a 2007 cargo van. plan is to drop the entire stock front sub, engine and trans all at once, clean out the engine bay and cut the camaro front sub into the car and go from there. should be fun!
Yess!!! Been daydreaming about a 5.7 Hemi Stealth for a while. Carbureted, dual quads, all motor. I have an engineless 92RT/TT thats been sitting around for a while. I already have its twin, but all together and running, so now its time for somthing crazy!! Its tempting to look at the relatively rare 5.7 AWD Hemi cars as a donor and use everything, but the added weight makes it no faster without engine mods, so maybe straight RWD is the way to go.... We'll see!!
Hey your videos have been a huge help. I have a ls2 swapped 3000gt. Got everything running and driving, but ackerman and bump steer is impossible to figure out. Recently got a low profile oil pan to move the steering rack back more, but struggling to find a good way to connect it to the steering knuckles. Any chance you can show the steering knuckles design and bump steer joint connections? Also how you are going about measuring ackerman and bumpsteer? Any steering advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Steering took me forever to get right. I’ll go over that in a future video, but you can also check out older videos to see what I did. Was able to get parallel Ackerman (latest setup ha the ability for positive) and have zero bumpsteer.
I'm thinking a 3.6l pentastar with a nag1 transmission and a 3.90 rear diff and me personally I would upgrade the brakes as well, like another thing I wonder is, would I be able to use the AWD crap that the car with a supercharged V6 which can produce 650hp if done right there's this one guy boosted luckey he did it with a challenger pretty badass too
No clue. Would have to be a solid offer if I ever thought about selling it. It’ll likely go up in value here this next 6 months or so as well, stay tuned.
What is your current solution to the steering? I know you had gone through a few iterations. I have a 95 sl that I want to put a 6.2 in. I have looked at getting a vr4 rear subframe but haven't found one and realize the mounts aren't the same on the sl. I was considering a 2018 and up mustang 5.0 irs to swap into the rear. If you have an sl what would be your recommendations for the rear? Could you use the vr4 spindle assembly on the sl rear? I'm gonna try and replicate your subframe for the engine, been staring at your pictures on 3si. I can get my hands on a millermax 161 but will probably get a primeweld 180 mig welder for this prioject or a harborfreight titanium mig welder.
There are some great write ups on how to put a vr4 rear on fwd models. Search around on 3si, great info there. Steering I’ll be going over, but it’s hard to explain the mounting. I’m using a power steering rack from a 2008 mustang and it’s tied to the factory Corvette pump.
@@mdoe8 if I could find a complete rear vr4 subframe I would definitely go that route. might be able to get a stripped vr4 if it has the subframe minus the diff it might be worth me getting and using a Ford 8.8 or something in place if the mitsubishi diff if I can't find one.
Hey man I was thinking on this for a long time, and I found other TH-camr Guy with a black 3k and he did an LS AWD but there's no much about it I'm hoping you can post most detail info and maybe 🤔 gives me some support to do it on my 91VR4
Lol this is crazy.. Why not just buy a trans am if thats the power train and drive train that you want?? Alll that work for nothing.. Body wise very similar to a WS6.. It's like doing alll this work to an impalla when you can just buy a Camaro lol
@@mdoe8 lol love the humor. Thanks for not only going through with the build but documenting and providing a recipe for others to follow suit. These cars are really cool but unless you have a VR4 model they suck in NA V6 FWD configuration. They're a nice looking car still today and deserving of a powerplant upgrade if not already a built VR4

I just blew mine today almost cried and saw this too
Cheaper just to build another factory motor , and make it bullet proof.
I just acquired an LS aluminum 5.3 I'm considering slapping turbos on and doing this with a 3000gt. Always wanted to do it. Thanks for the videos

Keep the content going on this car. It's badass. I'd like to get a Stealth and do something cool with it.
Thanks! Haven’t touched the car for a while, it’s just sitting in the garage. Will get to it this winter come time.
i wanna do this with a 3000gt@@mdoe8
just the other day I was thinking, how cool would it be to LS swap a 3000gt? Surely someone has and here we are! Awesome ride man
@@75novaguy73 thanks! It’s a pain to do, that’s for sure. Big changes to come, stay tuned!
@@mdoe8 I love the 94-2000 models. Almost had one once. Ive subscribed so ill catch it when you post it!
@@mdoe8 Can you make another not an update update video so we are at least up to date.
Thanks for revisiting this, you got me with the original video years back now
I have a 96 rt just like yours.. very nice job! I appreciate how clean it is.
I have thought about doing something like this but with a 392. One of my favorite cars.
Holy Snap man I didn't know you built this monster! this is dope man.
Haha thanks!
Saw this on the Facebook group. I love this

This really makes me wanna buy one and 6.1 hemi swap it 😅
Oh wow, you finished it. Took some time, nice.
that stealth is looking good mike

Getting the steering to work is biggest crisis for me as far as building a v8 Stealth. Im gonna be lurking in your comments and replies LOL!!!

Beautiful 3kGt/Stealth! If you had to sell it, what do you think you'd value it at? So cool!

This is dope
You could have use a corvette rear end transmission and rear suspension? Then you could use heater core?
Might help. There is still a small “bell housing” off the engine in a c5 setup, might work though.
What’s your thoughts on a mid engine ls2 swap into a 95’ 3000gt?
Doable, but would be quite a bit more work. A lot more difficult and a lot more complex.
I have a Dodge Dakota 5.9 engine, will it be able to fit in the 3000gt
But me I like chargers and I just fell in love with this car when I found out about it
Hey so what about a supercharged 3.6l V6?
So much easier to setup the drivetrain like a Corvette.
I just bought my best friends pops 91 dodge stealth es I’m gonna be on you page for a wile taking dwn notes
what engine and transmission? or what vehicle was it taken off of?
