Thank you for your videos Nicholas, you don't know how much they've helped. I always considered myself a minimalist didn't really discover what it actually meant since coming across your TH-cam channel. I still consider myself a minimalist, but a beginning minimalist. I've been slowly getting rid of so many belongings that I didn't realise I didn't need until some of your videos made me realise I'm collecting so much stuff I don't need. I just want to say I'm 21 and female, and from the UK, obviously our wardrobe will be different due to our genders but are still minimalistic. I also appreciate your videos on frugal living. My mother died in the middle of this year before her firstever grandchild, my nephew was born. I took over her house and have decluttered so much with the help of your videos. I haven't gone through my mothers personal belongings yet but you've helped me so much realised what I need and what I don't need. My sister is special needs and older then me and lives with me, your videos helped me realise about family and work and how to spend your life more frugal, I've been taken on your advice gone from full time, to part time and just spending time with my family more and not being a workerholic. I'm sorry for the long comment, as I mentioned I'm 21 and had no idea on quite a lot of information like paying bills and your videos on money and how much you have been spending has helped me a lot. Because of you I'm organising my life and redecorating my house into a minimalist life style because of the amount of help you have produced. Thanks Nicholas.
Woah, that was inspiring. Sorry to hear what happened to your mom, may she rest in peace. Nicholas is inspiring indeed, every video on Monday inspires me to take minimalism for real. Life changing.
I went through my closet this week and donated about 60% of what I owned. It is amazing how clothing accumulates and never gets worn. I was embarrassed when I saw how much I had that was virtually unused.
Totally agree on the number of clothes i have reduced my wardrobe and i basically wear the same outfits everyday and nobody notices! Totally amazing! So awesome and always on point! Your videos are so helpful and insightful!
I think we have all been there. Its so refreshing not to be influenced by fashion or friends. I have finally found confidence in myself and its surprising how others give me the nicest complements, i stopped dyeing my hair and went grey in my early 30,s and i focused on having a nice hair cut and now others admire it. I buy less but better quality and no longer put clothes aside for best, i try to wear them because they out date and then don,t fit and so on. Most of our things are temporal and will persih, my friend gave me some good advice, "Hold onto things lightly". Thank you for shairing Nick. xxxx
My most complimented pair of jeans are from Target, whatever their house brand is. I always feel a little funny when watching minimalist videos and they’ve obviously dropped a big wad of cash on their clothing, and I’m wearing cheap store brands. It works for me. Thanks. New subscriber.
Eventhough im a woman. My minimal wardrobe consists more of practical clothings. I find that as soon as i have colours in my wardrobe, i will tend to declutter them easily than if i were to stick to my favourite colours (black, grey, white & blue) Timeless pieces never goes out of style. May i suggest that it be nice if you were to have an extra pair of shorts, seems like you might be wearing them a lot! Thank you for the amazing content as always. Have a great day!(:
Yours was the third video I saw on this concept and yours has been the best. Great editing and lighting. I would say that one other channel did go over the "why" behind it and the "pick your style" that could have been added, but this was the best for my time spent researching.
Minimalist wardrobe videos usually dont cover sleep wear at all, unless they sleep with what they wear through the day, or they wear whatever they wear to bed the previous night. In a warmer region like his, wouldnt it be sweaty? Unless he oftens wash his clothes
I absolutely loved this video, like your style and simple wardrobe and really enjoy your sense of humor. I always gain inspiration and knowledge from your videos and appreciate what you do. Thanks so much! :)
Nicholas awesome video. I'm an old guy probably twice your age but love your videos and your voice is so easy to listen to. Thanks and stay safe and take care.
This is great. I’m in VA and we get all four very different seasons. Some things stay throughout though. T shirts, pants, accessories, etc. layering is the minimalist’s best friend 🤘
Yes wanted to say I appreciate that you state out front when you are compensated for your opinion. I tend to watch the vids I find more helpful multiple times. Cheers
Thank you for saying that you return items too! Sometimes i feel guilty, but I remember as minimalist, our purchases don't always work out for us and that's okay
I will say the only "traditionalist" minimalist trope I have avoided is when it comes to wrist watches. I get so much enjoyment and value out of my small, but ~relatively~ expensive vintage mechanical watches. To me they are timeless, and go with every outfit combination in my own capsule wardrobe. Honestly, the only thing I think is out of place is my old My Chemical Romance REVENGE tee that I refuse to get rid of. 😅
Great video! I will say, my wardrobe is minimalist by many standards, but not in comparison to yours. I do have four pairs of jeans I rotate because I do like some variety. But in many respects I have greatly reduced what I own and wear. It's always nice to see what others are up to and I find myself adjusting my wardrobe as well. However, we do get cold winters here in Germany, so I have to have warmer clothes. 😅
My wardrobe pretty much looks the same (except that I have a few button ups and I don't wear any accessories) . I am still on the process ,Your last wardrobe video helped me a lot to build mine . Thanks & Good video as always !
I love your videos because they give me inspiration for my life because i would like to be a little bit more minimalistic. Thanks for making videos, and keep doing what you love. ❤
You've definitely added some contrast color on your wardrobe since your a prior video regarding your clothing attire. I recall mentioning my closest consisted of too much shades of blues and no other color. But I added some contrast colors. But at the end of the day I wear what feels good for me, don't care if anyone seen me yesterday last week in this/that. I haven't bought any clothes in 3- 4 yrs. and mostly came from Costco. I take good care of my few clothes including gym clothes and they last long.
I think buying thicket velvet hangers would be a good investment for you, they prevent hanger indents on your shirts etc and keep them in good shape for longer
I don't think I could ever go the capsule wardrobe route. I have too many casual and professional clothes to qualify. However, I do wear the clothes I have from season to season. I'm astounded that you only have one pair of shorts in Florida. 😊
Must be so nice living in a warm place ! I try to keep my wardrobe minimal but the place i live in requires a bit more clothing. I try to keep as a rule that everything must fit in my travel bag.
Hey Nicholas! Loved the video.I feel really inspired by your curated wardrobe to work on mine as well. Thanks for always being a minimalist inspiration!
I see a lot of people with smart watches these days. Is there a particular reason you prefer using a traditional watch, Nicholas? Is it something that just tells time for you or do you find it cool to put on as an accessory like a bracelet? Also, what's your occupation if you don't mind me asking? For some reason, I'd imagine you working in graphics. I really like the text and icons you put in the videos. Thanks for sharing!
Do you like going sockless because it's a good idea to keep it miminal. I live alone so why wear socks if no one can see you. Also if I go out why not go sockless because comfort is key as well?
I'm not trying to be funny when I ask this, but how frequently do you have to wash if you only have one article of clothing. For example, the Nike shorts he says he uses them at the gym and swimming. If you go to the gym 5 times a week and then try to swim, oh man those would have to smell.
Hey Nicholas. I have been watching a lot of your videos. I came across this video and wondered about the Proof shirts from Huckberry. From your perspective, do these shirts run true to size?
Hows the huckberry jacket? I spotted it on their site while looking at backpacks. Do you take special care when washing or toss it in the washer and dryer?
Depends on which jacket we are talking about - if its the waxed jacket DO NOT WASH/DRY CLEAN, it is spot clean with a damp cloth only. For the lining, you can use a little detergent but like maybe a drop on the camp cloth. Don't want to ruin the wax! Here is a helpful article on how to care for it: bit.ly/3FobSaq The 10yr hoodie - I personally wash cold and air dry but it could tumble on low/no heat.
What about the bracelet you wear with the watch? Where’d you grab that from… great videos Nicholas! I’m currently Working on my capsule wardrobe. Thank you!
What do you sleep in? I guess up in Canada it gets super cold at night so I need warmer lounge clothes and pyjamas which add bulk to my wardrobe and laundry.
Minimalist does not mean boring... You can be minimalist and have your suits made by the bests on savile row. You can be minimalist and have the taste of the best materials, the passion of clothing and sartorial art.
Hey buddy, i saw you wear a wrist band beneath your watch. I am looking for something similar to get my wrist gets tanned. Could you share a link or detail on the product?
Nicholas, I spoke with a phone associate at WM last week to get my autopay set up. I could swear I was talking to you! The guy even said, “things of that nature”! On your video, do you have any dress clothes, like trousers, shirt and jacket? I keep a set at the ready for my son at all times. 🙂
I gotta ask, I know you CCW, has your minimalist lifestyle bled into how you train and carry? Would be a cool video topic but I would understand if you don't wanna go down that route with TH-cam being iffy with subjects like that.
I like your colors, but we're totally different in style. I'm more of a rugged jean and boot wearing guy. Either way, it works for you because that is you. I think people should know what they feel like wearing as well, so the clothes will compliment how they carry themselves publicly.

Thank you Ahmed and thank you Nicholas ❤
