This chair turned out beautifully, it's a work of art! Also, how smart to put it on wheels to add the process.

I have bought the same two chairs from a thrift store, waiting in my garage. I don't have the patience to be sanding 15 hours though. Love what you've done.

The beauty of hindsight, I wouldn’t have spent 15 hours knowing that would be the case either.

Sanding is the most difficult isn’t it!? But the natural wood is such a statement! Very lovely chair!

Thank you. Sanding to raw just takes such a long time. Fortunately worth it in this case.

Really beautiful - worth the 15 hours of sanding!

Thanks so much, Deby. It still makes me smile when I see it.

This is the best chair makeover I've seen.
I'm about to do sanding similar chair but with the upholstered seat (that's embroidered beautiful). I like natural wood but I'm just freaking out of all sanding. I just might give it a go, seeing your results. Good job!

Wow, thanks! It was definitely a labour of love but still one of my favourite things that I’ve done. Go for it!

What a beautiful chair. Alot of muscle went into it but the results were so worthwhile. You did an amazing job. I just love it. Reminds me that I have an old wood chair in my shed it's got a painted black seat. Now I'm wondering what's underneath it. Hmm guess I have to get to work on it to find out. I will follow your suggestions. Thank you so much 4 sharing.

Love it, would the transfer slowly rub off from sitting on it, or is it worth clear varnishing? 🙂

I would varnish it if it would be used a decent amount.
