    I was christened in that church in 1964 . Video brings back memories of that lovely town

    Wonderful and interesting presentation, thank you. I am sad I raced through this town and past SALT after making a pit stop at the hotel to quench my thirst. Looks like a lovely place to settle.

    Nice information about Sutherland.i thought it was settled by Scottish settlers and thus named Sutherland. I love these small towns of Karoo and have seen some beautiful architecture but are slowly decaying as new generations to abandoning these settlements.sad but that's the way.

    I've noticed that Windmills is common in small town South Africa.

      Perhaps town, but the coldest place is Buffelsfontein. Coldest temperature measured there -20.1°C. Buffelsfontein is near Burgersdorp, which is also just as cold! 🥶

      Walter Muller It was filmed very early in the morning so the townsfolk were all still sleeping.

      We filmed this just after dawn in the heart of the winter when most smart people are snug and warm in bed, This is after all, one of the coldest places in South Africa. And that is why there is no-one to be seen. It was also a Sunday.
