Fun fact : Chino Moreno while referring to Two -Way Mirror, tweeted that it was "better than anything we've ever put out". So your Deftones comparison isn't just on point, it's ratified by Deftones themselves.
@@DrewFortune97 serious props to you for making reaction content this long that I actually feel is a fulfilling experience to sit thru all the way. That's rare.
Since discovering them in late 2019 I've probably flip flopped between every single song on this album, I can't say which one is my favorite but I will say I always come back to the title track and New Faces in the Dark :)
Deftones have been, and obviously still are a big influence for Loathe. I feel its also important to mention that Chino is very supportive of Loathe, gave them a huge shoutout a while back and essentially said that they're a band to keep an eye on... That being said, i am a diehard fan of Deftones, so any band that sounds remotely similar to them is welcome as long as they have their own unique twist on the sound, which Loathe certainly do.
Disagree honestly, I think they’re kinda overrated but I’m glad so many people are loving this band because these guys deserve a lot of recognition and they are super talented!
@@XAVR_ they literally don’t, I think they’re an overrated band with the music they make, but I have a lot of respect for them as musicians and they’re super talented, those don’t conflict at all lmao
"Screaming" and "Is It Really You?" are two of my favourite tracks of all time. The groove in "Screaming" and then the emotion in "Is It Really You?" just complement each other perfectly I feel. Edit: Just got to the stare and the edit for the "Gored" buildup, that was great 😂
The Deftones influence is most obvious on "Is It Really You?." That Riff is very similar to Pink Maggit off of White Pony. So exciting to have another band that has such a mastery over this type of sound!
That song came up on my playlist during Easter dinner this year. I involuntarily jumped on the table and started 2-stepping upon the holiest of meals. Kicked my grandmother in the teeth and stagedived onto my 4 year old cousin.
Im so happy i get to in december 😭😭. Been so excited to see these guys live and when i found out they were playing this album in full as well i nearly exploaded
I don’t think an album as ever turned me momentarily bi-polar like this album. It’s induced so many emotions inside me, the moment it was released after the first listen it secured a special place in my memory. Iv cried, laughed (at how ridiculous some parts are) had adrenaline rushes, and been shocked, and this happens with every single listen. It’s a masterpiece in the literal meaning.
I Let It in and It Took Everything as the last song is by far the best outro song I've ever heard, after listening to it over 100 time i can confidently say it is my favorite song of all time.
I really like the softer side of Loathe, I love Deftones, so of course I like that. But at the same time, I wish they went full mode on the nonstop heaviness and brutality we hear on some of these tracks, I feel that that’s where they shine the most, where Loathe is Loathe, and incomparable to any other band. Songs like the title track are perfect examples of how they could’ve mixed the heavier and softer elements in a perfect way. Still, this is a 10/10 album and one of my absolute favorite metal releases in recent years
This is literally my favourite album of all time. It came out during a strange time in my life where things all kinda fell apart. Covid happened shortly after I met my girlfriend, and all we could really do was send each other music. We loved Deftones, and I was already a fan of Loathe’s older djentier material. So when this comes out, it’s pretty much all we listened to for months. Not only that, but it really kickstarted my interest in guitars and playing funny harmonics and shit - two years on I have a 7 string and bedroom produce progressive metal for the hell of it. At the end of last year, my best friends and I went to see them live and they played the album in full - as if I didn’t love it enough already, the experience was near life changing; all those crazy elements that feel so far removed in isolation soar in perfect harmony in a live setting - while many see it as a heady record, it’s a real crowd pleaser. When it was over, we went to grab some smokes from the shop and came back to the venue to see the band just chilling outside. We chatted with Kadeem and he was a true lad. I went to see them again a few days later and the guy recognised me ! Man, if I haven’t overshared enough, I love this album so much. If you want more of this style of metal, check out the newly released Thornhill record. Shit is sexy, deftonesy and decently heavy without ever being extreme. also am honoured to be in the video lmao love your content bro
Great story man, sounds like you’re over the worse though so that’s good to hear!🙏🏻 Cool that he recognised you again, always nice to see! And yeah man you’re in there! Gotta show love to those who’ve stuck around ❤️
Also I’ve seen a lot of positive feedback for the new Thornhill album. Which is in stark contrast to the response their singles were getting, interested to hear it!
15:40 this is the reason I love progressive/djenty awkward rhythms in music, because you listen to it for the first time and have no idea what's going on, but then when you finally understand the rhythms you get to experience the music all over again, which is why TVSOR is one of my favourite albums. Right next to Obzen and Chaosphere of course.
lets goooo I got a heart, just finished the video, ill definitely be listening to this album again, especially gored, for sure one of my new favourite songs, sorry for my overuse of commas, lol
I recently got to catch this band in a literal church basement this year and I had chills for basically their entire set. It was downright magical. Also, they have two vocalists. Kadeem France does both cleans and screams as frontman while Erik Bickerstaffe plays guitar and does cleans on about half of the songs on this album. Erik is the one that sounds like Chino.
Funny story; I tried to tune my regular Ibanez 6 string to play one of their tracks and the strings went to snap city🤣🤣 how low they tune on a 6 is crazyyyy lol
@@DrewFortune97 I mean I'm no guitarist but I believe it' do-able, probably just includes a lot of pedals and plugins like Northlane did on Talking Heads
@@skyscrapersheaf5300 That's at least partially correct. They use Bass VI strings from Ernie Ball and the lowest string is swapped out for a .105 gauge which I believe actually is a bass string. Absolutely fuckin' insane and I love it.
I think with all “great” things, it takes multiple listens to really grasp the genius and intent for whatever the art may be whether it be music or movie/television. The first listen of this album was jarring to say the least from song structure. But god damn, the more you listen, kinda like Tool, you start understanding the rythym and how to flow with it, then you start picking up the crazy nuances in the background. The production in this album the more you listen, you realize they had a field day throwing tiny things in the back and even playing with pitch-shift for some screams. One of the coolest albums not only for the somgs themselves, but the production is really something else especially with quality headphones🖤
@@DrewFortune97 i’ve gotten to live with it for two years now so i know this album on a very personal level, but i still remember not completely understanding the album first few listens. I knew i liked it but it still didn’t completely click the way i would expect. But man one day i put this album back on and i found myself just sitting there thinking i can’t believe these guys put out a 10/10 album😂 I love the heaviest of heavies, and the softest softy songs, and for them to venture and dabbling in everything in such a fashion, and keep this weird dark eerie feeling throughout the entire album is wildness. I listen to this entire record almost like a movie. The ending song meeting the albums conclusion feels like such a pessimistic and dreadful feeling, but also like the acceptance of the worst like the intent is like the writer gave into their dark fate. So so good man
@@jctheii it took me 2 years to appreciate the rest of the album after only listening to two way mirror and is it really you. Once I came around to liking metal I absolutely loved the rest of the album even though it still took some time to warm up to it.
I’m all in for the heavy but I really think the softer more melodic tracks Two way mirror, Is it really you, screaming and a sad cartoon are the highlights of this album. They do it so well. They are so versatile.
Plus there newest album which is just an ambient instrumental album is some of the best most unique ambient stuff I’ve heard. There range is incredible but the way they mix heavy with shoegaze plus ambience in there slower songs is what makes them so incredible
Your face when Gored started 🤣 We all made that face. You know it's coming, but you're never truly prepared for exactly how heavy it actually ends up being. Then, you proceed to get completely obliterated by Heavy Is The Head right after that. This album is without a doubt my favorite album to come out within at least the last 5 years. It's the perfect mix of all of my favorite styles and it will be hard for anyone to top it ❤️
This album has absolutely consumed me, You mention that you couldnt find a direction for the album which I think is a massive positive. Not knowing what to expect and the obsurd variety of tracks is a phenominal way to make an album. As soon as this album came out it easily made my number 1 album of time. Between the atmosphere and production and absolute grit and heaviness it's what I loved with Deftones but taken that step further and beyond. Love that you reacted to this album, again, my absolute favourite and glad that you liked it. GOTTA hit up the cold sun next. It has as similar feel but is still very different. Also a more consistent album if thats what you feel you need.
Yesssss, been waiting for this one! I'm in art school, and I had a project where I had to redesign an album cover. I chose this album-it's a favorite of mine for a few reasons, but I've never really liked the cover art (sorry Loathe). It's supposed to be a representation of them touring in Japan and experiencing a new place. To me, it doesn't properly speak to the themes and emotions displayed on the album. There’s a lot of tonal and emotional contrast across the album-light to dark, gritty distortion to ethereal ambience, ferocious anger to a deep sense of longing. It's part of why the album is such a rollercoaster of style and energy. In my research for my project, I found an interview with Kadeem France, the vocalist. He says, “The ‘thing’ is the world. We let the world in.” He goes on to elaborate that the world changes who we are through our experiences, stating that it can “go both ways” in terms of good times and bad. You can sense this through the contrast across the album. That's part of what makes it sound so unstructured on a first listen for sure, but give it some time-it turns into a journey. Also, Sleep Token has a cover of "Is It Really You?" that's simply mesmerizing. It takes the emotion of the original and turns things up to 11. It might be worth a reaction on its own, but I sooo recommend checking it out either way.
Heard the sleep token cover man, so good! Also interesting to hear about the album concept🙏🏻 Send me the artwork you created on Instagram if you have any pics or digital copies of it?
For me , the Deftones swirl of lush ambient noise and floating vocals on "Two Way Mirror" resonates the most. I do like the other songs variety of angry styles fighting over themselves all at once, but the wash of synths and shoegaze haze shines for me. Had'nt heard the full album till this reaction so twas grand t'sit in on the listen in. They've really been makin' waves in the rock scene with this album, so good luck to 'em.
This album was the best thing happened to me in 2020, never stop to listen to it. Unfortunately, one of the guitar players left the band just a couple of months because of some conflicts with the singer or something like that, and he decided to prioritize his mental health.
Though similarities exist for sure, I think the explanation behind the redundant requests is moreso just that these albums were the biggest breath of fresh air in a long time for a genre (metalcore) that was becoming a bit stale. For my money, “Obsidian,” “The Dark Pool,” and “I Let it In...” are all transcendent experiences
Really fantastic video, love all your edits!! I have a bit of a funny story with this album. I happened to play it on a whim after hearing lots of praise; as I was listening I was just reading about the band and the album. Then I realized the album was released on February 7, 2020 and I was listening on the eve of its one year anniversary, February 6, 2021, kind of a funny coincidence. As I continued to listen, I went back to the band's Spotify page and actually noticed that a new album had just been added, "The Things They Believe", literally within the last few minutes as it had just become February 7, 2021. I was immediately intrigued as I was so confounded, but also intrigued and mesmerized by the album which I was currently listening to. I played the new one right afterward and learned for certain that Loathe is anything but predictable. haha That new album turned out to be a dark ambient album, which I can appreciate as it was getting late and I love some stuff like NIN's Ghosts albums. It is, however, completely different and devoid of guitar, drums or vocals as far as I can remember. Anyway, that was kind of a strange night. haha I wasn't even into metalcore very much at the time (mainly just Bring me the Horizon) so it was almost a completely alien experience for me.
That’s a pretty cool story to be fair! Funny how the world can work sometimes. Strange that their latest album is void of made this album so good, I must give it a listen!
I struggled with this album since it’s release. However as of the last 2 weeks, this album has sunk its hooks in my back. Side note: love the new camera and editing tricks techniques, meme elements, going in and out of the videos/visualizers. If this channel wasn’t destined for 1M subs, it is now! Fantastic work bro!
I agree that this niche probably isn’t fertile ground for 1M subs but if there’s any channel dedicated to metal and all of its sibling genres, it’s yours. Keep it up!
Just wanted to say that I appreciate the effort you put into your videos, both editing and commentary-wise. Even if the video is an absolute unit like this one, you don't skimp on effort. Great video as always man. Keep on doin' what you do
Great reaction, amazing album! Couple suggestions for future reactions; Knocked Loose's latest EP - A Tear in the Fabric of Life and Structures latest EP - None of the Above. Probably the two best metal releases in the last few years, both are absolutely crushing.
@@DrewFortune97 Awesome reaction as always bro. Maybe we should've told you that it is not easy first listen. It definitely took me more than one listen to fully appreciate it.
A great album that balances a lot of different elements, contrasts and influences masterfully. The tracks flow so naturally into one another and the pensive atmospheric moments are perfectly complemented by their blistering counterparts.
I think this album has a very schizophrenic nature to it. It's really all over the place, at one moment it's really heavy, the other it's really soft. I agree with you in saying it's a pretty uneven listen, hence I haven't really returned to this album much as a whole over the years. However, I have added some songs to my playlist here and there. You mentioned aliencore, I'd be interested to see you react to a Rings of Saturn album, as they are quite literally dubbed as Aliencore haha.
I first heard of this band when Johnny Ciardullo and Andrew Baena released a cover of Gored. What an incredible album this is, and what a treat it was to hear the full scope of their style after having my expectations set by only Gored. Fantastic
One of the best albums ever made. Progressive from a sonic experience and so forward thinking in terms of timbre and sound. Covers everything from a 0 to a 10 in intensity. Get ready for this album to take over your life. Listen to it while on a long drive at night.
Absolutely love the album but something also needs to be said about how much the editing made me laugh or just added to the experience… for sure doing waaaay more work than a lot of other reaction channels
Man, what a great reaction. I love "A Sad Cartoon" and how they mention "Red Room" and "Two Way Mirror" in the lyrics. The hole album is connected, it's a fucking masterpiece"
Always nice to find an actually good reaction channel, thankfully they seem more frequent for metal music but still. Cant wait to listen to my favourite bands with you in the future mate. Keep it going!
The Dog dancing to Screaming is so accurate Also hi new sub found you through your Thornhill listen through so I've been bringing your content for the past week or so loving the editing and your input 🤘 I love this album so much is among my list of perfect albums no skips all bangers
I'm just gonna note that Darko US started in 2020 and this album came out in early 2020.So if there's similarity, they were inspired by Loathe, not the other way.
Yeah man, I was more coming from the angle that they just sound very similar to what Darko’s sound is. I didn’t put much thought into who inspired who etc y’know? But you’re right - it would be the other way round if that was the case!
I’ll do you one better that breakdown at the end of faces in the dark is very tony Danza/ glass cloud which baby j was in. So it’s no stretch to say loathe would be influenced by josh Travis.
Two vocalists, both do cleans and screams, Kadeem for instance does most of the screams, but also sings all of Two-Way Mirror, Erik does the cleans in other songs, and also layered screams and call-answer screams
@@XAVR_ well he does and everyone knows this, I was just stating was all. Yeh I saw that, it was their first massive festival played after the lockdowns and it probably frustrated him, Kadeem came through in that moment though
Two Way Mirror is my favourite track on the album. The proggy djenty metal is cool and all... but making emotionally resonant hooks always leave a lasting impression for me.
23:10 yes, at first Two Way Mirror didn’t catch my attention as much as Is it really you? But listen after listen, it’s become my favorite track, and I’m starting to love the other songs even more
Maybe you could check out the new Thornhill record since you enjoyed TDP so much? It’s very different from their debut record and has been pretty divisive for the fans, but I think it’s a fantastic new direction for the band and a very solid sophomore effort
You did it Drew! This album is a story, a journey a masterpiece! I hope you enjoy it over and over again, thanks for reacting! 🤘 The whole album gives me strong Silent Hill vibes, if you know what I'm talking about. If I wouldn't know who was the artist, I could easily say that Akira Yamaoka( composer for all the Silent Hill games) worked on this album - it's that creepy, eerie and beautiful at the same time.

Very nice! Two-way mirror is one of my fav tracks of the last years. Like you said it just feels nostalgic somehow... My recommendations would still be Currents but also the new Bleed from within album and also Vildhjarta with Masstaden under vatten and whitechapel 'Kin' to name a few...
This review is awesome. I like Loathe so much more than Darko. They feel less gimmicky & have so much more depth & melody to latch onto. Love the time & effort you put into this review. Subbed!
Definitely a grower. Certain tracks hit immediately but the feel of the album as a whole sinks in after a few listens as I’m sure you’ve experienced by the end of editing. Check out the track “Is it really you” that Sleep Token covered/collaborated on with Loathe.
One of the best metal albums to come out in a while. In my top 5 fav albums of all time. So many new little nuances that you catch in the mix each time you listen. You just get completely engulfed with the wave of their sound.
Amazing vid and editing man! Congrats for the channel growth and recent reactions, specially the album ones, quality content! Again, "Where Owls Know my Name" by Rivers of Nihil When I heard this album for the first time more or less when it cames out, I didn´t understand even half of it, but after one month of listening, it becames one of my favourite albums of all time, for real. It´s so special, it has everything I want and I can´t espect from music. Love it.
this Loathe album “I let It In…” and River’s “Where Owls Know My Name” are my two favorite albums, trying to get that on the patreon poll soon hopefully🔥
This album has taken over my life. It challenged me like when I first discovered Dillinger. After a bunch of listens it's now one of my favourites. Such an overwhelming mix of emotions and changes ❤
yees, let's goo. I know that feeling when you don't understand what's happening, i started to appreciating this album with Two-Way Mirror and New Faces In The Dark, but then i just gave it like a 5 listens and it took me to space for like 5 months, i can't remember a fucking day when i'm not listened to this album in those 5 months. so yeah, everyone who loves heavy music needs to hear this and it will grow on them for real, all those melodies, chaotic riffs/rhythms, dissonances, alien noises, so i guess i can say I Let It In And It Took Everything.
Dude, this album is ONE of those albums that you just put on when you are feeling down and you just need to turn off all the lights and lay on the bed. So fucking good.
Edit: Just got to the stare and the edit for the "Gored" buildup, that was great 😂
hearing those live was an otherworldly experience. my mouth was hanging open and i was crying as well
listen to screaming and then have iiry next in the playlist, they literally blend together so well, its beautiful

same and I was a bit annoyed when he kept talking during the transition 😫
@@nenxis7585 I feel you.. It's been my most listened to track since it came out. That and Lily and The Moon by Thornhill.
The Deftones influence is most obvious on "Is It Really You?." That Riff is very similar to Pink Maggit off of White Pony. So exciting to have another band that has such a mastery over this type of sound!
Heavy is the head that falls with the weight of a thousand thoughts has one of the stankiest of stanky riffs
That song came up on my playlist during Easter dinner this year. I involuntarily jumped on the table and started 2-stepping upon the holiest of meals. Kicked my grandmother in the teeth and stagedived onto my 4 year old cousin.
That tone is the nastiest I've ever heard it so fucking idk what to say

Absolutely this reaction was stellar dude, I subscribed!
yup you got yourself a sub with the small edits, i didn't know i wanted them until now but keep it going
A Sad Cartoon is the best song off this album. I feel like I'd actually cry if I were to see this song being played live

The final breakdown of new faces in the dark still gets my heart racing
This is not an album, this is a journey. Whole spectrum of emotions, one of a kind❤️
I Let It in and It Took Everything as the last song is by far the best outro song I've ever heard, after listening to it over 100 time i can confidently say it is my favorite song of all time.
the dooooor is oooopen
This album is the best in a decade. It’s our generations White Pony.
I feel sooo old reading that!😂😂 I remember buying White Pony on its opening weekend release as though twas yesterday!
this is better than white pony ik what u mean but this album is one of the few 10/10 metal albums, and even white pony has some flaws.
U mean Saturday night wrist
Easily I Let It In And It Took Everything has become my top 3 album of all time, Loathe is god tier
the quality and edition just 10/10, AMAZING video , one of my favorites albums , 33:54 LMAO, this reaction made my day! love from Argentina
❤️
I really like the softer side of Loathe, I love Deftones, so of course I like that. But at the same time, I wish they went full mode on the nonstop heaviness and brutality we hear on some of these tracks, I feel that that’s where they shine the most, where Loathe is Loathe, and incomparable to any other band. Songs like the title track are perfect examples of how they could’ve mixed the heavier and softer elements in a perfect way. Still, this is a 10/10 album and one of my absolute favorite metal releases in recent years
This album is one of the best albums I have ever heard and I truly believe anyone could find a song they like on it.
Great story man, sounds like you’re over the worse though so that’s good to hear!🙏🏻
Cool that he recognised you again, always nice to see!
And yeah man you’re in there! Gotta show love to those who’ve stuck around ❤️
Also I’ve seen a lot of positive feedback for the new Thornhill album. Which is in stark contrast to the response their singles were getting, interested to hear it!
@@DrewFortune97 it’s absolutely bananas mate, worth the listen
9:30 what a sick fucking edit🔥
Finally gave Patreon a go just 'cause I'm excited about this one! haha
Thank you❤️❤️
Loathe is one of my favorite bands and this video was made so well (the deftones jumpscare made me crease)
One thing that really stands out is that utterly massive guitar tone. Thanks to 30 inch of NECK on these Squier Baritones.
@@DrewFortune97 should have used bass strings! I think that's what Loathe is doing.
@@skyscrapersheaf5300 That's at least partially correct. They use Bass VI strings from Ernie Ball and the lowest string is swapped out for a .105 gauge which I believe actually is a bass string. Absolutely fuckin' insane and I love it.
@@DrewFortune97 You'll be able to play Is it really you and sad cartoon on a 6!
Yeah I totally agree bro, it’s grown on my massively with every listen. Top class, so forward-thinking.
It's the perfect mix of all of my favorite styles and it will be hard for anyone to top it ❤️
Drew, you really need to hear Sleep Token's rendition of "Is It Really You?"!
Heard it man, fantastic
Also interesting to hear about the album concept🙏🏻
Send me the artwork you created on Instagram if you have any pics or digital copies of it?
I really want to see this album cover now.
We need to see that cover!!!

Wow, appreciate that bro! Not sure this niche is big enough for 1M subs any time soon but let’s fucking strive for it ;)

For me, that initial bipolarity really grew on me after a few listens.
The instrumental version is so interesting to listen too.
I also believe that they resemble a lot of what Mick Gordon did for the Doom Soundtracks, that same agression and tune. Sounds so GOOD
A modern classic. their previous two albums are also absolute bangers asw
Above, Below - Melt The Amber will blow your mind. Best breakdown I've ever heard.
I first heard of this band when Johnny Ciardullo and Andrew Baena released a cover of Gored. What an incredible album this is, and what a treat it was to hear the full scope of their style after having my expectations set by only Gored. Fantastic

The part at the half way section of Two Way Mirror always gives me full body chills. All my body hair just stands up.

Two vocalists, both do cleans and screams, Kadeem for instance does most of the screams, but also sings all of Two-Way Mirror, Erik does the cleans in other songs, and also layered screams and call-answer screams

You did it Drew! This album is a story, a journey a masterpiece! I hope you enjoy it over and over again, thanks for reacting! 🤘 The whole album gives me strong Silent Hill vibes, if you know what I'm talking about. Aggressive evolution Lyrics:: Now I uncover and enclose through cracking glass
Yes, repeating again, and again, and again
The pursuit and blame will be unreal
By fight and flight, my decision sealed
I enter, we exit
Fleeting thoughts and fears
And again
We will dance on moonlit shimmering streets
But when we get there
Will you see what I see?
Now, we exit
Weary mind, cradled
Trapped within the seat
It shakes excitedly
Because our eyes can finally meet
It's panic fueled
And you're blinded by the sun
And again
We will dance on moonlit shimmering streets
But when we get there
Will you see what I see?
Weary mind, cradled
Trapped within the seat
But when we get there
Will you see?
Intertwined
I weave inside your mind
Two worlds collide
As our shadows die
Broken Vision Rhythm Lyrics:: "Cleanse my soul and let the pain subside"
Control - This is the final conquest
Battleground of the mind time has come to take it
Stolen souls - Imprisonment of flesh
Reduced to a drone time has to take it

Propping up the tyrants
The master who would shut you down
Pick apart your bones
Take it back to the start
Take you back to the start
The weight rises in sync
Intoxicated I can't see
My judgement has failed me
An obsession so deep it burns
Faster
Evade its gaze
Breathe in defeat
Makes sense to follow
The Broken Vision obsolete
Ruling the end of your world
You stand agape
Chasing this fickle fantasy
Feed from both trails you psyche cannibal
Birth from devalue
Following testament of the superficial
Abolish this sin now
Forfeit all patience to a bottomless pit
Exhausted, agitated and sick
Reduced to a drone and time has taken it all
The master shut you down screaming
"Cleanse my soul and let the pain subside"
Two-Way Mirror Lyrics:: Inconsistent and inconcise
Blood of blood and life of life
Looking through the eyes of a life lived twice
Mirroring emotions
Sharing the same vice
Precious vice
Hoping to find faith
Miming dissolving grace
Just say "I know"
Few and far between
You appear
Give me the sounds I need to hear
Losing seconds that liberate in tears
Hoping to find faith
Miming dissolving grace
Just say "I know" it's all in our heads
Just say "I know" and I'll stay here instead
What would you do if you weren't afraid?
Hoping to find faith
Miming dissolving grace
Just say "I know"
Hoping to find faith
Miming dissolving grace
Just say "I know" it's all in our heads
Just say "I know" and I'll stay here instead
New Faces In The Dark Lyrics:: Hatred echoes through thin walls
A cry for help becomes a cry for war
Follow directions drew
Through fear, I move around you
Bearing a weight that suffocates too
Grow beyond amongst the few
You'll suffocate too
A cold soul seeking that's seeking warmth
We tremble when you're near
Caught in-between love and fear
Deliver her new face
The former erased
A cold soul seeking warmth
Sunken
New Faces In The Dark
You've spit your poison
Beat me through the ground
Condemned by your own torment
By your own torrent
When faces change you call our names
Freeze
Second frame
It starts again
When faces change you call our names
Collapsing all the same
It starts again
Red Room Lyrics:: Lie
Breathe
Feed
Withering in jealousy
Do you believe that it was ever worth it?
Screaming Lyrics:: Take a step back
Knowing all that's real
Breathe out
Alone again
Drowning in the noise
The slow learner
Distance in fire that surrounds us
There are pyres all around you
Can you see?
Do you see them?
Distance
Leaving
Like the first time I did
Screaming
Like the first time
Doesn't always have to be so black and white
Pull the wool over my eyes one last time
One last time
Take a step back
Letting go the fear
Tonight I am alone again
All I hear is noise
Deafening
Hopelessly
I have no voice
But I'm Screaming
Living in tragedy
And now nothing is how it once seemed
Distance
Leaving
Like the first time I did
Screaming
Like the first time
Doesn't always have to be so black and white
Pull the wool over my eyes one last time
One last time
I will write to you
Through the stars and the clouds
With threads in the air
Trade your dreams with mine
Is It Really You? Lyrics:: Face away
Deal with the pain
Your own way
How could they,
Deal with the pain?
I knew
It was mine too
And you?
Is It Really You?
Let's search the sky for a while
You and I collide like two stars for a while
You and I
Crushed by silent snow
Not the first I know
Caught in ebb and flow
I'm bleeding out, oh you know
Let's search the sky for a while
You and I collide like two stars for a while
You and I
Gored Lyrics:: You'll break
Merciless in full form
A sacrilege conceived in robed black
Impossible to rip apart from it
Listen close
Hear it calling for you
It moves through you
There's no turning back
Concentrate
Face to face with what turns
The unsettling fascination opaque
Sick beast spread poison
You are consumed
Run or hide or cry
Nothing will help you this time
Soon trapped by rot and vine
"Nowhere to go, you are mine"
A truth resonates
As you fall in endless spiral
Incompetent in disbelief
Reality is frozen
Feel the jaws
Clench and now
Slowly you bend
Heavy Is The Head That Falls With The Weight Of A Thousand Thoughts Lyrics:: The path that you seek will conquer what you see
The earth had abandoned me in my time of need
Fall down the streams
The way you fell before
Crawl through remains
Just how you like to crawl
You missed it your ticket to heaven
No window that tempts you to the other side
For a moment time was golden
Falling faster down
Heavy Is The Head That Falls With The Weight Of A Thousand Thoughts
Lethargic in motion a sensation like no other strikes the body
Over and over, over and over
Trapped in loops of suffocating sound
Heavy Is The Head That Falls With The Weight Of A Thousand Thoughts
Lethargic in motion a sensation like no other strikes the body
Over and over it begins to tear away what used to believe
Eyes close as the light beams
Defeated by what you ran to
A Sad Cartoon Lyrics:: In bloom, you sing
Such beautiful colours
What a shame
In this world, that beauty alerts the others
Fray from the light
'Till you see it
I'm gone
"Stare into my eyes
I'll show you who I am inside
It's simple I'm certain from behind the curtain
It's in your hands this time"
Colours are swirling
Now that we're falling
What are the odds?
Now that we're falling
Colours are swirling
Why were you lost?
Inside a room of red
Through the window
Just know you found me
So now you know
"Stare into my eyes
I'll show you who I am inside
It's simple I'm certain from behind the curtain
It's in your hands this time"
And still, it wasn't enough to make you say
"What would you do if you weren't afraid?"
I Let It In And It Took Everything... Lyrics:: The door is open
Now I'm running away
Comfort waits where I will seek
How to free a light for weeks
Can you see me now?
I've fallen near the end
Can you see me now?
You hold the end
Succumb to shock and fear
To a damned climate drawing near
Extending shadows that grip your mind
To whisper it's doubt like one of a kind
One of a kind
Culture in jeopardy
A line drawn and feathering
Cut and spread
Force-feed the false ego
As you philosophize an enemy
Hallucinations dissolve into the floor
There's no meaning anymore
I see
You are
"Reading my mind back to me
It's clear you are here
Whilst sharing the same air
I can disappear"
Respect for doing this.
The Shoegaze vibes are very precious
If you want to go down the 'metalcore classic albums' list, check out The Oklahoma Kid - Solarray or Invent Animate - Greyview. Both amazing high rated albums
Good suggestion,I would also suggest The Sun Sleeps,As It Never Was EP by Invent Animate, because it's a quick listen and a very good introduction to them.
saw them perform this dec 9. i was reborn that day. unforgettable performance. i shed tears
This is a banger A+++ quality of a record, will grow on you definitely!
Now Vildhjarta!
This album is fire. It must have been a nightmare to produce with all of the naturally muddy bassy instruments, but I still really like it a lot.
Listening to their album takes you in a 6th dimension where all your wild imagination and desires liberate!
I mean look at Drew's face lol:)
Brilliant video mate, you're really opening your mind to a lot of experimentation with this album, it might lead you down some unexpected routes in music (as it did for me) and you'll probably find some cool stuff the more you explore!
Look forward to it bro 🙏🏻🔥
Subbed!
This is the best reaction video I’ve ever seen. Not only do I love Loathe but I love the video editing😂
The dog got me good... oh man love your clips that you add. Solid taste, not over the top but in good fun. Subscribed!
Sleep Token did a cover of Loathe's "Is It Really You?", you should check it out!
Again, "Where Owls Know my Name" by Rivers of Nihil
When I heard this album for the first time more or less when it cames out, I didn´t understand even half of it, but after one month of listening, it becames one of my favourite albums of all time, for real.
I know that feeling when you don't understand what's happening, i started to appreciating this album with Two-Way Mirror and New Faces In The Dark, but then i just gave it like a 5 listens and it took me to space for like 5 months, i can't remember a fucking day when i'm not listened to this album in those 5 months.
so yeah, everyone who loves heavy music needs to hear this and it will grow on them for real, all those melodies, chaotic riffs/rhythms, dissonances, alien noises, so i guess i can say I Let It In And It Took Everything.
another great band I discover through your channel! You da man Drew! 👍🏼💪
❤️
Deftones influence is of course part of this band. I kew them because Chino twitted about them when they released the video for two-way mirror
Dude, this album is ONE of those albums that you just put on when you are feeling down and you just need to turn off all the lights and lay on the bed. So fucking good.
Also you said that Kadeem vocalist of Loathe reminds you of Marcus Bridge, WELL GUESS WHAT, they are touring together on North America...
I actually seen that man! Damn I wish that was coming to Ireland...
@@DrewFortune97 Also I fucking DIED laughing at the "Follow directions DREW".. The matrix broke in your mind for a moment...
@@The_KlaVra hahaha yeah I shit myself in that moment for sure🤣🤣
@@DrewFortune97 Also, Darko just dropped a new song.. Called ANA... If you want Alien Noises, you know where to go...
ps: Good job following Directions, Drew.
@@The_KlaVra 😂😂😂 I seen that bro - need to check it out!
this album is a gem, i was hooked instantly listening to it the first time. cant wait to see what else Loathe puts out in the future
You’re making reaction vids go to
Another level drew. Top
Vid and
Production brother. Your face at some intense moments is what we all
Feel 👊🏼
That’s the plan bro, I appreciate that❤️
Such a great album. If I'm not mistaken produced by the same guy as Sleep Token's albums.
So I’ve heard!
He's also worked on the new Monuments, don't know why but the drum sound is instantly recognizable.
@@Gravityys see? Now because of that I'll check that album out. I wasn't interested before.
also thornhill's new record
@@jacob7225 he's becoming the Ross Robinson of this generation.
btw, Agressive Evolution was probably among my top-5 favorite tracks of 2020, crazy dynamics between diabolic and angelic. Chino should like that one too.
I listened to this album last week, and when you listened to The Dark Pool, I had listened to that about a month prior, great to be discovering great music and having someone new to it react to it to share the moment with man, love it.
❤️🤝
excited to watch this after work!
I have to say man, I watch alot of review channels. Your edits are by far the best I've seen. Really creative and definitely keeps the viewer interested. Nice job man! Bonus points for the Tesseract vinyls on the wall!
Thank you bro, I do try!🤟🏼
Also yes, TesseracT have a special place in my ❤️
