The biggest surprise for me is how little gain their sound has. The studio recordings sound like they're laden in gain, but live sounds like the gain dial is barely turned up and I love it.
I was just thinking Kadeem and Erik both seem to have put some training into their vocals. This was 10x cleaner than their first Outbreak fest show, and that set was already fucking solid.

The way they play around with and rework their own songs in minor ways is such a rarely exhibited form of musicianship nowadays reminiscent of the members of Black Sabbath, when they were old and grey and bloody well tired of the songs after 60 years.. These guys are definitely innovators in performance.
Thank you, I low key kind of forgot about Loathe for a few months (don't listen to hardcore/metal that much anymore) and I was like damn did Sean leave? lol. He's a really good drummer, one of my inspirations.
I was stranded with a blown transmission in New Mexico, after hearing the news that my mom had had a huge aneurysm back in MA. I felt helpless and i didnt know if id ever see her again. (Shes fine now, miraculously) but this was the first time i ever heard Loathe. Specifically "Is it really you?" I cried so much, so hard listening to that song. Youd think this would mean negative association, but its the opposite. This band and this music got me through one of the hardest moments of my life. Like a hug from a trusted friend.
nlg this was a touching story, as short and concise as it can be told through a youtube comment. I think in a strange way that is one of the most beautiful ways a piece of music can find you, when you're vulnerable and stranded. Happy to hear you mother is Okay and that you are a fan of this awesome band :)
@samuelmejia6878 thank you! I agree. It's important too to remember those feelings and that vulnerability. I think that's what draws me to heavy, heart-y music like this. It's the opposite of being numb.
I saw them 2 years ago in a tiny venue a very intimate setting and after they’re set I talked to them for maybe 10 min, and I’ll say this I’ve seen bands in both types of shows and I’ll always be blessed to see them the way I did, because it’ll never happen again, love loathe ❤️

It is a triggered snare so front of house mix gave it the cardboard.
