I listen to these almost every night. Learn some things for about an hour then drift off to sleep. Voice is so calming
I do too. It can take me a couple of weeks to listen to a video, depending on the length.
My favourite channel, by far.
Today's my day off. Listening while I clean my house. 😊
Thank you for taking me to the Empire of the Inca.

Well worth a trip if you get the chance - as I did in ahem, 1988!
I love cleaning and stretching to these podcasts!
@@elhombredeoro955 He is trying to convey that, despite all the destruction brought by the conquistadors, people in the Americas did not use the wheel for transportation purposes (chariots, wheelbarrows, etc) and the concept was hence introduced by the Spaniards (not altruistically), so it was well worth it!
Well done for representing @beyondalpha1072. Whitey rules!
Best podcast in the world. Cant wait to listen to this one, thank you FALL OF CIVILISATIONS for all your fantastic work.
Thanks for listening!
@@FallofCivilizations Thank you for making this stuff. Helps me get through work and sometimes i just fall asleep relistening to older episodes. Incidentally, any chance on some more obscure cultures like the Nabateans, Mittani, or pre-Islamic Arabia?

I don’t know if you saw the Greenlandic Vikings episode, but that’s my favorite
Thank you for all these great podcast. I actually listen to them several times, not only because of the huge amount of information, but also because it is relaxing.
Welcome back!
Hearing the Quechua like my granny spoke is great. Thank you for covering my ancestors, and thanks from all the Huancavilca.
That's beautiful!
That’s so lovely ❤️

Your ancestors were an advanced race and inspiration to many. They not only show us where we went wrong but remain the most impressive and masterful civilisation this world has known. Thankyou for leaving us your beautiful history and achievements, learning about Quechua people changed the way i view the world and got myself and others past some low times. Priveledged to hear from a descendant. Peace :D
I started using these to wind down and sleep to. Thank you!
I’ve not slept in days 😳.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
honestly cant believe im this hyped for a podcast
Really hope you enjoy!
Totally agree!
Agree in full. Since I discovered this podcast I am hearing it over and over again. The voice, the unfolding of the content makes the history to Agatha Christie play for me. More Mr Cooper, more ;-)

Finally! An Inca empire documentary on YT that never mentions aliens!
You make overnight shifts go by in an instant, thank you sir
Can't begin to tell you how much I love these podcasts. First time using patreon, but helping to fund this couldnt have been an easier decision. I'd be devastated if these stopped coming out. Listened to them all at least twice, they help me drift off and get the best nights sleep, repeat every night having to find where I ended up the night before. Thanks for all your work!!

Literally the best documentaries ever made. I’ve watched hundreds of hours of them and there is no comparison. I know these take months to make but keep going, you have serious talent.

For those who are interested in the topic of polygonal masonry. A number of methods for obtaining the polygonal masonry are proposed. The basis of the proposed methods is the use of clay/gypsum replicas, a topography translator, and reduced clay models of the stone blocks along with a 3D-pantograph. The results are presented in the article: “Fabrication methods of the polygonal masonry of large tightly-fitted stone blocks with curved surface interfaces in megalithic structures of Peru”. People could learn more about the world we live in today through these podcasts than through years of any modern news source. I appreciate Paul's truly disciplined information dissemination more than I can express in a comment section, but here's my attempt.
Thank you.
I love how you'll use the same kinda obscure word repeatedly in the same podcast. Today's is 'craggy'. Love it.
Haha thanks
I've been waiting for this. Your teams work is always amazing and well worth the wait.

@@FallofCivilizations will there be a video version of this episode?
My favorite podcast does it again! I love all your episodes, the Aztec is my fav atm.
Keep it up, you are the best!
The Aztec one was exquisite. Just watched it yesterday so it's fresh in my mind, lol. Never had a documentary fill me with such a sense of loss and melancholy. Colonialism and war have destroyed so much of what humans have achieved. It's unreal.
@@ikediz Keep in mind that the Aztecs were a very violent war like culture who prayed upon and conquered the neighboring tribes who were weaker than them. It was not only the European colonists who sinned :)
I love how your podcasts are just a whole different type of experience- even within the history genre.

I love 3 hour operas - same as "Fall of Civilisations", that brings music to my ears!
I’ve hiked the Inca Trail going up into arid mountain and then down into the jungle. We made it to the Sun Gate at dawn and then watched the clouds briefly clear to reveal Machu Pichu in the valley below. I explored Machu Pichu that afternoon taking no photos save for a booklet of sketches (which I lost that same year). It’s the cleanest air I’ve ever breathed and felt like being on a different planet.
Cool story bro!

In all of your podcasts and depiction of long gone civilizations, this one hits the hardest. To think a people with such promise are toppled and ruined by the brutish greed of those who are seen as more civilized is truly a tragedy.
Sounds familiar
Easter Island, Aztecs and this one all kind of hurt.
It's all about greed and power. Evil abounds in mankind.

Simply the best podcast. I’ve had to leave the active dissection of daily news for this respite. Thank you.
Finally! Thank you so much for the upload, I sincerely hope that this series will persist, even if it deviates a little from the downfall of civilizations. You seem to have the ability to make almost any historical matter seem interesting and engaging! Keep it up, my man!

Really deserves more than a couple hundred thousand views. Surprised it’s not in the millions to be honest.
This series is the greatest Historical Podcast I've ever heard = This Mr Cooper is Fantastic!
The piano entry on all these episodes is so hauntingly beautiful.
It absolutely captures the moment in time, and at the end of the episodes I find myself in a sort of Thought paralysis as I reflect on Everything And can almost imagine and feel as if I was there during that time in history. Very, very well done and memorable.
amen. to me the choice of piano says that the civilization has fallen so thoroughly that we don't have their music so we use our own instruments to lament a dirge for them as best we can.
The whole story is hauntingly beautiful.
I’m so sorry

Come here lil mama lemme whisper in your ear, I've got something you're gonna wanna hear... it's a new podcast 😉
Thank you for your podcasts. I listened to the one about the Mexica aka 'aztecs.' Amazing work. This one about the Inca is also mesmerizing. I am a native Mexican from Tenochtitlan, aka Mexico City. I happen to be from Azcapotzalco, where Tezozomoc used to live with his Tepanec empire. I don't know if it's just me but a lot of emotions surface up when I listen to these podcasts between anger, pain, sadness, and wonder as to why these events happened the way they did. In my mind sometimes I imagine the Mexica empire and the Inca one making contact and creating an alliance that would have been magnificent to witness. Thank you for your amazing work. 🙏
They may have been in indirect contact, there was a lot of north-south trade along the coast.
The music alone is fantastic...

Ahhh I'm so excited. You have the most captivating and well-produced series. I'll be watching this for weeks
Love the writing, the music, the info, narration. Please produce more podcasts, they are the best.
This podcast is just building up to it's greatest and probably longest episode: The Fall of Rome (In the West).
A superb addition to an already outstanding channel!
I love that you go into your sources for these things. It helps a lot with understanding how these stories reach us and what influences it might have had on how we're hearing it today.
You are a master of narration and production, very rare to find such thorough and well done documentaries, I have binged all of them so far.
This is the best series on TH-cam. I love every episode
These podcasts are great. I’m hooked.
Please do the fall of Persia (under the Muslim conquest) this is one of the most dramatic cases of Fall of Civilizations. The fate of Zoroastrian faith and its miraculous refuge in India is one of the chapters of this amazing story.
@Manichaean: I second the motion. If you haven't already, you might enjoy reading Gore Vidal's 1981 book "Creation". I just 'lived' in that book for about 2 weeks. It's a long historical novel that takes place during the time of Darius and Xerxes.
