I did like that setup too, but I was limited when it comes to getting different angles. For A-roll, I’m thinking of just shooting in the corner or even moving my desk out sometimes. 😅 we’ll see!

Thank you for such a thorough video. I am an architecture student and find it hard to only work on my Mac. Most of my class/department uses a pc, but I just purchased the Mac last year and want to stick with it. I'd like to create a clean easy workflow space and purchase a new monitor to help me through school. I love the set up and hope to purchase a few things off of it that I can afford. Do you know any great but affordable monitors I can connect to my Mac? Also, if you know of any alternatives for other things that would be awesome too. im making the 3D of my room in sketchup to, but i have never get it done because my room space quite small and my bed is to big taking space to much 😅😅

Could you share your process for mounting the laptop holder and the calbit holder underneath your desk? What size screws you used and how you measured it to place them where you did. I really like your setup and am in the process of doing something similar!
The screws came with the 3D printed laptop mount. . It was pretty straightforward. I just measure the distance between the two side brackets in relation to my laptop, marked it under the desk, drilled a pilot hole, screwed it in, installed the rear bracket.

Don't you get a lot of overheat underneat the desk? When I look at this it feels that all the heat from the laptop would be blowing onto my legs and I can see that being a bit of an issue especially during the hot summer days
Those speakers look so nice. I want to buy them since I have a sit-to-stand desk now. I have a 2.1 set now but I can't mount the subwoofer to my new desk so i have to switch to a 2.0 set again. But they are so EXPENSIVE! ☹

Oooh 👀 how do you do that under the desk MacBook mount? This is what I am trying to achieve with my work from home office. I want as little visual noise as I can get so I can just concentrate with what is in front of me but I want to use my MacBook for all my work but having it mounted like that would be great!

Hi again! Did you get the nano-textured glass or the standard? And how does the light bar on top of it effect the display? Not sure which is best.
I got the standard one. No regrets. If you have a bright light source behind you, the nano-textured might be worth it. 😊
Is there a setting that allows to you power up your Mac after closing it? I have the same under desk mount for my m2 pro but when I plug in my anker adapter it doesn’t come up on my monitor, only when it is open… any help would be nice!
Do you mean an Anker Dock? is it powerful enough to power your MBP?

I am using Sketchup. They have a free online version, but I used the paid version. You can also look into Shapr3D

I was watching your 2022 office video and thought “ah this is great, maybe I’ll do something similar” then saw this video. I’m struggling with desk placement. Why did you decide to face your desk into the wall vs floating and looking into the room? Do you like the new orientation?
I switched to this orientation mainly for filming. It give me for more flexibility.
The 2022 desk orientation is my favorite. 😊 It just depends what you are going for.
In second 3:47 of the video, I see you take your laptop from below. How does that work?
I will connect my laptop to my computer, didn't think about the possibility of the labtop being below the table.

How do you conceal the wires coming out the Kanto Yu4. Also don’t you have to connect both speakers via red black cables?
Yes, you do! The speaker stands have a built-in “track” for the wires.

is it really better to have the desk at the wall and the door at your back now. If I had the space I would put my desk not against a wall but in the room. If feels more cozy to have a wall at my back and not to stare at a wall.
Do what works for you. We have different use cases. I’ve done both and love both orientations. 😊

data centre tech's tip. don't use zip ties. if you ever have to undo something, they can be a pain or even damage cables. use velcro strips instead.

So many dust collection shelves 🥰 If you are talking about optimization here, then never (never) advise open shelving units. Closed shelves will reduce amount of visual noise and save your cleaning time.
It’s not that big of a deal to me. Dusting every now and then is not a problem at all. 😊

What’s with the ginormous audio speakers? It seems totally out of proportion with the rest of your setup, and for your work/use case, heavy audio seems useless. Your speakers take up more desk space than your monitor and keyboard.
Ginormous? Have you seen other people’s speakers? 😂 Did you watch the video? Coz my speakers are definitely smaller than my monitor. 🤦🏽♂️
@@JonImperial maybe a little exaggeration on my part, but the desk space and air space the speakers take up seem disproportionate. I’m thinking something like a small sound bar like those used in flat panels would fit better. Those only take up about 1/10th the space. I just purchased a 70x30 stand/sit desk and have been setting it up so am searching for nice set of small speakers that don’t make my setup look like a 13 year old’s gaming desk. Seems like all computer speakers that content creators show on their recommendations videos are larger sized like yours.
I’ll have to add though that the matching walnut is a nice look on the speakers. You run into any small speakers with wood finishes while you were looking to buy?
