Just wonderful! This video was grounded in theory and substantiated with research - your content is valuable for those who need to follow the TPACK framework to integrate technology learning tools. Thank you for creating high quality content!
This is a very user-friendly presentation explaining the theory and practical out-workings of the TEPACK model. The author competently combines the use of striking diagrams and graphics with a clear verbal commentary as she explains the usefulness of TEPACK in the context of TESOL. She draws on her own experience of teaching English in an indigenous school which is helpful. I like the use of pause points where the readers are encouraged to consider ways of applying the teaching to their own contexts. The inclusion of a SWOT component is also useful. This presentation should prove to be a useful tool for TESOL teachers.
A well presented outline of the TPACK model. Very clear and concise. While I'm a big fan of technology as Head Teacher of a TAS department, I appreciate the 'being real' here that acknowledges that technology shouldn't be used just for the sake of it. Sound pedagogy and content comes first and should be supported by good software/apps. The realities of tech difficulties also need a lot of support, patience and practice to master. For learners who struggle with English or written work I have seen the software examples you mentioned here hold attention so much better than a textbook can.
Yes, using technology can be a great motivator in the classroom and can be thoughtfully incorporated to provide extra assistance to students with specific needs, eg. audio/visual support for ESL learners. It's also true that tech issues cause a lot of frustration for educators who need to be supported in this.
This well-crafted presentation is designed to introduce ESL teachers to TPACK, an important model for integrating technology, content and pedagogy. It should fulfil this purpose well. It outlines the theory behind TPACK in the context of relevant contemporary thought and practice and includes a SWOT analysis of the approach. Importantly, it also provides practical examples of how this model can be used in TESOL. The author has carefully documented and referenced her work, and the presentation itself evidences effective use of aspects of modern technology. - Definitely worth viewing for anyone interested in integrating modern technology with their teaching. - P J Harrison, PhD; MEd Studies (TESOL). (Has taught ESL and trained ESL teachers.)
Thank you for your comments. Using technology in ESL lessons has suddenly become even more relevant with so many schools moving to remote learning amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. As we enter into this new domain, having an understanding of the TPACK model helps us consider how the technology tools we use interact with pedagogy and content
