As our Carnival cruise ship (The Magic) was setting sail from the vibrant city of San Juan, heading towards the vast blue horizon, we noticed a trio of jet skis zigzagging their way through the waves, drawing closer and closer to the massive vessel. At the helm of each jet ski were individuals who styled themselves as modern-day pirates. But worry not, these weren’t fearsome marauders of the seas; they were only thrill-seekers.
What started as distant specks on the ocean's canvas quickly became a heart-pounding chase. These three wanna-be pirates maneuvered their jet skis with surprising skill, coming uncomfortably close to the cruise ship, much to the astonishment and amusement of passengers who gathered to watch the spectacle from the ship's decks.
This encounter reminds us that adventure can find us in the most unexpected places and times.
