being a minority, I always feel like I'm not pretty enough, because nobody looks like me. I tend to compare myself to other females, but then I read something one day that changed my perspective: A rose doesn't confirm its beauty by comparing itself to daisies. It simply blooms. Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for this insightful video. You have no idea how much i needed this. Prior to me watching this, I was generally always depressed, and didn't even know why. I now know that it was because I always compare myself to my friends (literally, all of the time). One minute I would be fine. All of us would be talking, and having a good time, then something comes up which gets me thinking about how much I'm lacking as a person compared to them. I start to recede in this state of being for minutes, and start to become mopey. It has, and is continuing to adversely affect my friendships, and overall confidence. However, because of this video, I now know what was causing me so much pain over the years in college. I always thought about how I wasn't worth the company instead of thinking about my own redeeming qualities. I am starting to apply these techniques mentally and hope they work. Again, thank you.
Never commented on any video before..this is my first..!!! I always compare to people, curse myself, stop being myself and pretend to be someone else..thank you for the great video..Hope it helps in healing myself..!! 😊
Just started grad school. And coming into this I had all the confidence in the world. Then as I got to know my classmates, I noticed how smart, funny and outgoing they were. This, in turn, has really shot down my confidence, and to a point that I don't feel all that motivated to pursue my goals anymore. What to do?
We have so same psychological reactions that I start wonder if we are relatives in any way, shape or form.. 🤔🤔🤔 Thank you Dr Aziz that you are so vulnerable with us and you make us feel 'less alone' in the way we think/feel/react!! 👏👏
It's super hard to be vulnerable. Like I always find myself feeling insecure, comparing myself, self-sabotaging and I am aware of these emotions and why I feel them, but bringing it up with my partners or anyone else is really scary because I don't want to feed on to these emotions, or sound stupid, or be vulnerable and then have the person use that against me or have power over me.
Thanks for the video :) it was insightful and funny too! "Damn you Chris and your perfect body!" *shakes fist* haha. Don't worry, We all have a friend like Chris :)
but how could you know what's good you have if you don't compare yourself to other? it's like how could you know this universe works perfectly if you don't compare it to anther universe?
It sounds like your wife doesn't really know you. It's one thing that we shouldn't compare ourselves to others because we're all unique. The only important aspect is that, we shouldn't compare ourselves to others based on how successful they are, how healthier, better looking, etc. ONLY compare yourself to others on one aspect, and that is on how more dedicated, spiritual and obedient you are to our Lord Jesus Christ. That is the only thing that matters because there is proven that an eternity awaits us. This minor aspects of looks, weight, wealth, etc. are only fast passing irrelevant aspects.

I use to compare myself to others so much.then when I got to know the people they had just as much if not more insecurities as I did.

Sit with the feeling, don't run from it. So true! Breathe and send it love. That's the key. Thanks so much for another great video.
I was cynical about your channel thinking it was going to be an arrogant pump up yourself technique but this is honest and healthy. thanks for sharing

I don't think you really can count the aw moment that women do as compliments. It's merely a pity
