    Thank you for your help. It worked beautifully! Only I tapped with my screw driver and tapped with a pair of scissors. Still worked like a charm. Didn’t even need a sledge hammer, hehe! Couldn’t have done it without your help.

    wish he would show where those parts are before he starts on the side? or top? or where?

      I need the same info. I'm not sure how to get to where to fix it.

      @Bubbleb2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chaleceneilsen878 It is on the underside of your machine. If it is a free arm machine, you will need to remove the bottom cover.

      It is under the sewing machine bed, you tip your machine back, if it is a flatbed model, if is a freearm model, you must remove the bottom base plate.

    My little bullet moves perfectly but the feed dogs are still stuck. I can force them up and down but they do not move on their own no matter how many times I manually wiggle them up and down. Heated several times with a hair dryer and tried applying tri-flow oil in that area. No luck. So annoying.

    • @tumorfarmer
      @tumorfarmer  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@logicalblueberry have you cleaned the feed dog bullet/piston and tube? Try dipping a Qtip or paintbrush in rubbing alcohol, and cleaning as much as you can reach, at both ends of the tube. If thatdosn't work, try a shot of WD40, immediately followed with a squirt of Tri Flow oil, or sewing maching oil. You can let it "soak" an hour or more, then try to free it, again.

      If they aren't moving freely, old oil is still causing sticking, somewhere in the stitch length and reverse feed linkage. Occasionally, there can be a spring that needs replaced, if it has broken, or been overstretched, for too long.
      Look at Searspartsdirect.com to look up your model, use all numbers, do not use decimal. They don't show every old model version, but do have most.
      Click on the diagrams, and choose the one which shows the parts for the system you are working on, and save screenshots of it, to refer to, when working on your machine.

      I forgot to mention you need to clean and oil the pivot point of the part which the end of the piston goes in and out of.
      If the pivot point is sticky, it won't pivot, so the feed dogs won't automatically drop, when the piston is pulled out of the tube end.

    Hi, I just bought a kenmore 158.17501 and the feed dogs do go up and down but they don't go backwards. So the fabric just sits in place. Don you have any suggestions? Thank you so much

      You need to watch my videos on reverse stitches, stretch stitches. The stitch length/reverse pivoting cam follower needs cleaned on both sides. Set stitch length to longest setting, if possible, while cleaning and oiling.

      Feed dog mechanism under the sewing machine bed, right next to the bobbin area.
