8:00 Petting down the back or under the wings can lead to a sexually frustrated bird, or a bird who perceives you as a mate rather than a companion. A mated bonded bird can be hostile to others in your home, becoming jealous or possessive of you. :o)
Exactly! Pls don’t pet your birds under the wings, it makes them sexually aggressive or in other words-turns them on which is not good🥲 (also there was literally another tiktok in this video explaining where to pet your bird at 6:00)
quick question about that. Im planning on getting two cockatiels (hopefully both male so i dont have to deal with eggs) can i still grab and pick them up without patting them in that area? Like if one of them is somewhere they shouldnt be and decides to not step onto my hand i can just grab over the wings?
1:01 i remember my pied cockatiel would sing this because I taught him the tune of the September whistle, sadly he flew away this year and miss him very much. although now I have a white-faced cockatiel and a pearled cockatiel, he meant the world to me because he was such a gentle cockatiel.
A bird in the shower is a big no no. When they seize up like that they a focusing on trying to breathe. If you want to bathe your bird, fill your sink up a bit and let them shake around in it. They'll puff up their feathers and make a mess, but that's how they bathe
Yes, and some birds like being sprayed with water a bit. You can have them outside the shower where they're just getting a light spray and they might enjoy that.
@@littlechickenman yeah, I've sprayed my big bids with spray bottle, they'll ruffle their feathers and shake to get the water in. Just depends on the bird and size Learn your birds body language and it'll work fine
