Y'know, even though they aren't as historical of a pet as cats or dogs, there's just something wonderful about parrots and other mimicking birds that makes them sync up with humans better than a hamster or the like. We can talk to them and they can actually respond. They're more... amicable like that.

My 2 birds (an African grey parrot and a red and green macaw) unfortunately flew away 2 years ago but on the plus side, they come and visit every time I call them. They are really smart and somehow always find the way back to the house after only a few months of living there (unlike me who got lost yesterday after living here for 10 years) They surprisingly stay together which I didn’t know they do cuz I haven’t had birds for a long long long time so idk much about all of them. But they REFUSE to come back in the house.
