    Hi Ian, I was fishing Dragons at the same time and yes, Whiting, Whiting, Grey Gurnard, larger Whiting at dusk and Dogfish at night. Lots of fun. Being there I know the wind was onshore, possible slight bias to Ferrybridge direction so the bay could have been holding them. I saw a lure angler work the Chesil bank and seem to be into Bass about 200 yards in your direction. I had to go at 6pm for a ladened crunch back to the carpark but I do like fishing Chesil and it's a change from being constantly pushed back by the BC 😀 Tight lines.

    • @ianclarkfishing
      @ianclarkfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi paul nice to hear from you! Well your story is interesting….I too was plagued by whiting at Abbotsbury last week. Though we caught some at Ferrybridge I think it was only 3. Fishing was better before dark as the pout were a real nuisance in darkness. Like you we love chesil but it will be the BC next week for us! Cheers Ian

    • @Mister0String
      @Mister0String 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ianclarkfishing At least the tide should be slower by BC standards. Admiralty was a bit feisty last Sunday but very busy.

      How did it fish??

    • @Mister0String
      @Mister0String 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ianclarkfishing It was very busy and slow on the 12M tide! Doggies and Rays to other anglers casting at distance. I kept mine in for slow water. Had one take that felt like a ray but couldn't land it! Kept going to ground. Felt like I was well and truly snagged but it moved! Talking about ground, almost lost my leads in the slow sinking sand. It's a nice place to fish but with the combination of heavy lead, sinking sand, moving ever 5 minutes it's demanding for sure. Only place I know where a lead balloon would be well received. Must be some firm ground alternatives as productive close by. My search continues...

    • @ianclarkfishing
      @ianclarkfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gavin yes I use a relatively short pulley…Chris uses even shorter hook length! Hooks are Sakuma mantra size 2 ….. line for rigs is Sakuma shock leader 60lb 0.7mm. Seems a bit heavy but it stands away from rig body and doesn’t tangle. Lighter hook lengths like 25lb amnesia etc just seem to tangle. By using a clinch knot 3 turns you can still thread worms over the knot without bursting them. Cheers Ian
