The one that started it all, an ode to the original FujiFilm X100

  • Happy new year everyone! The Fuji X100 was my late dad's favorite camera, full stop. He'd go on and on about Fuji colors and pleasing skintones and the beauty of the Bayer sensor (which Fuji quickly replaced with X-Trans the year after anyways). Back in those days, I shot Sony pretty much all the time, but my dad never strayed from his X100 and took tens of thousands of photos with it. I'm very happy to have it as a memento of his love for family photography. Like he was in life, it's a stubborn camera at times, slow and stodgy, sometimes downright uncooperative. But it's also loyal and dependable, and like him, it's a camera where the sum is greater than any individual part. This is a stream of consciousness video, but something I wanted to make for a long time... he cared enough about this camera to never sell it -- and he was a man who sold a LOT of cameras that he bought. This camera has been snapping images before I met my wife or had my daughters, and I hope to hand it down to my own kids, some day.

Same. Traded my X100T that I bought new when it came out for the X100 OG last year. Everything that you described here including your light editing JPEG's, it's like I could have made this video. Exactly the same for me, the files of the OG produce the most natural colours and B&W's of any of the X100 series cameras. Simplicity at it's very best!

Agree, i had the S and did not like the color or processing compared to the OG

Not the first time I’ve heard people go from a later X100 to the original. It’s very unique.

Love it. The only sensor i like a tiny bit more, is the one in my X-E1. The X100 latest firmware 2.11 made the camera so much faster
