I have been a victim of the Ramadan rage. The Muslim electrician I called home for some repairs in the month of Ramadan was very rude, spiteful and all grrrrr.... I did the mistake of offering him water as is an Indian custom to guests at home, it gets really hot outside. He was following the fast, he got super angry and barked. He did apologize the next day, but pushed the blame on the Ramadan fast for his erratic behaviour. Its a Fast for the rich people who can afford to take naps all day, not poor who have to go to work!
And what's worse about Ramadhan is that you're supposed to be *more* patient even though it's unreasonable to expect someone to not be at least a little grumpy when they're hungry and thirsty. Strong emotions in general is highly discouraged in Islam so maybe that's why a lot of muslims are so emotionally stunted.

I feel sorry for all the women and girls, who have to prepare food during Ramadan. I can’t imagine being weak from hunger and having to prepare a feast for who knows how many people. It must be incredibly taxing exhausting and very mentally draining.

I worked in the middle east for 10 years. We were warned not to get involve with the practices of islam for our own good. In ramadan the saudis would disappear in the day time hardly anybody at work they would sleep and eat at night however the migrant workers were forced to work out in the sun not eating or drinking. During the battle of khandak, it was ramzan, and there are many credible hadiths on how the the sahabas used to work throughout the day, even with stones wrapped around thier belly so they wont feel the hunger. and it is also reported that when they broke fast it was usually with just a date and some water.

Worked for 3 years in KSA as a nurse in hospital Emergency dept. We dreaded Ramadan, by 10-11pm every night we were inundated with patients with gastro issues, abdo pains, diarrhea etc. due to the excessive gorging that went on. It was absolutely awful..!

Fasting is actually beneficial but only if you break your fast with low fat, low carb, fibre rich diets in small quantities giving your body time to recover. Fruits are ideal for breaking fast. But if you eat 5kg meal cooked in oil, cheese, meat. You're basically punishing your body for your tongue.
your right fasting especially with water has various health benefits . I used to fast during ramadan not anymore but occasionally I do fast with water during ramadan and my Muslim friends laugh at me and criticize as if I am a joke to them. Some of them even tell me I will go to hell as I am committing a huge sin but I just laugh it off and respond nicely

If the so called prophet was the greatest, how come he could not predict that its not possible to fast in some places like Norway, Sweden, Canada etc .(Northern) during summer. When muslims just don't eat in the day and then stuff their bellies in the privacy of their homes at night, thus not reducing caloric intake at all, it's not fasting - it's just waiting to eat. Some even gain wait, during the month of ramadan. So in conclusion, ramadan is about being a hypocrite, showing others how "pious" you are and how much you are able to "sacrifice", when in reality it's all just deceit.

I am a muslim Albanian, however everythig u say its true. We cannot deny science. I do not practice islam nor my familly, but we still say we are muslims cuz my familly used to be. not eating during the day (for a few hours) isn't "fasting". To benefit from fasting it has to last at least 19 hours (straight) and of course more is better. Dehydration is not good.
Yeah, I've also been told the same thing about fasting (that it can't be interrupted with food, and has to last at least x hours). I guess its pretty life-threatening to fast truly for 28-30 days in a hot place with long days, like a desert. Probably why the Muslim fast is the way it is.

I live in Sweden and in the northern parts of my country the sun *didn't set at all* for two weeks in 2016. All Muslims would've died if fasting the Allah-way. Fasting is not eating anything for a whole day. Forcing food into your stomach before sunrise when you're not hungry and can't even drink water all day is very bad. I fasted many times for health reasons and was able to lose 5 pounds over the weekend. That was on my own free will

So true, so much hypocrasy. I have muslim friends that put on weight in Ramadan. And the thing about differing length of daylight hours around the world is just crazy. The other thing that annoys me is the children. If a person can abstain from smoking cigarettes from dawn to dusk in Ramadhaan, he can also abstain from smoking cigarettes from the cradle to the grave. Smoking is haraam forbidden in Islam. If a person can abstain from drinking alcohol from dawn to dusk, he can also abstain from drinking alcohol from the cradle to the grave. All intoxicants are forbidden in Islam. 4. Every Machine requires servicing: Every Machine requires regular servicing. We service our car or motor-cycle once every 3 to 4 months. The more complicated a machine is, more is the requirement for servicing. 5. Fasting is Servicing of Human-Beings: If you allow me to call human-being a machine, I would say it is the most complicated machine on the face of the earth. Don’t you think it requires servicing? According to me, fasting during the month of Ramadhan is the annual servicing of the human body and spirit, i.e. once in a year during one complete month. 6. Fasting gives rest to Body: During fasting Muslims abstain from food, drink, etc. from dawn to dusk. While fasting many organs of the body get rest which is important for their good health. 7. Medical Benefits of Fasting: a. Increases the Intestinal absorption: Fasting increases intestinal absorption. b. Lowers cholestrol: Fasting also lowers cholestrol level which prevents several Cardio-Vascular diseases.

sharing my experience here in Indonesia, online taxi drivers who fast are usually easier to get on their nerve, and often fail to navigate through google maps not only that, based on my personal experience, those kind of drivers usually charge more than what billed on the app. why? This concept of Ramadan was one of the first things that made me skeptical about 10 years ago, also the dietery laws regarding certain animals as food, because someone who lives in the Arctic zone doesn't have any of the animals in Arabia for example, and basically how the world is beautiful with the variety of cultures anf religions, as long as one doesn't force others into accepting a foreign faith 🙏🙏🙏

As a Christian man when I was in my 30's and 40's when I felt called to fast, I would do so for 2,3 or 4 days not eating only drinking water, it was very good for my prayer life. The only problem I ever had was people pushing food at me and me trying to keep my fast private.

You're right bro. My mom prepared all the food. She heated the food that was in the fridge, cooked and all that was left was to eat. When my father saw that the food wasn't on the table, he got angry and insulted my mother before the adhan had even been sung, my mother's and my psychology was shattered before the adhan had even been sung. As soon as the adhan was sung, the first thing he did was cursing. My father, who is crazy, gets even crazier when he is hungry. I live in a country where some women are killed for not putting bread on the table and beaten for not cooking. However, in the origin of Turks, men and women were equal, they fought together in wars and did everything together. It makes me very, very sad that the country has become like this. I am completely against the idea that Men are superior to Women. I am in favor of equal rights. I hate it when a man beats a woman and everyone watches (this recently happened. Obviously there will be people who overeat during Ramadan. I encourage you to find a quote from the Qur'an or hadith encouraging overeating. It's not so much to do with Islam but culture and he individual. The majority of Muslims come from Asia where there it's normal to eat lots.
As a Christian living in a primarily Muslim nation, my heart goes out to my neighbors. We have 6th-graders attending school hungry and thirsty, and diabetic old women sitting in the sun watching sheep while dehydrated and dressed in stifling layers. At least this year it is May, and not June/July as it was a couple years ago. I have often thought of joining the fast out of solidarity, but then I just can't bring myself to do that to my body! I do fast for health and spirituality--the two overlap significantly in my faith, because the God I know gave me my body as a gift to be cared for wisely, and when in optimum condition, I can be more in tune with Him. This NEVER includes dehydration, binging, or any other form of self-mutilation. Only a sadist would require that.
The human body can survive 30 days without food, 4 days without water. When you don't eat or drink for 12 hours, trust me, absolutely nothing bad happens.

The author of the Quran believed that the earth is flat and thus the Ramadan times are same all across as in Arabia. Had he visited the globe before making the fasting times ruling he would have realised that the Ramadan times differs significantly and would not have made such silly mistake.
I remember when other Muslims used to say that Scientists said that fasting help your cell regeneration but they missed the point of that they meant fasting for food not water, I had kidney stone from fasting in Ramadan before 3 years

Also, Ramadan is kind of difficult in parts of the world where you get a lot of sunlight during the month. For instance, here in Finland sun went down at 10:20 PM and will rise at 4:08 AM. This gives a Ramadan worshiper 5 h and 48 min to eat and (more importantly) hydrate.
What you say is correct. I lived in Riyadh and Jeddah for about 8 years combined. Most slept very late in the day, maybe went to work, then stayed up all night long eating. The whole month is a restaurant and retailers dream. Granted the whole exercise is more challenging during the longer days of summer. The funniest rule of modern fasting was how residents in higher levels of the Burj Khalifa have to wait longer than those on lower levels to break their fast due to their angle change of sunset on the horizon.

I’ve been a Muslim my whole life and I’ve been fasting in Ramadans too. I do feel like it is SUPER easy to overeat during fasting since you’ve been empty stomached the whole day, and I’ve been there before. But now I really try to control my eating, focusing my intake, and drinking a whole lot more. I go to school, work out, do house chores while fasting, which really makes me even easier to overstuff my stomach, but I do believe if I drink enough, it is easier for me to see what kind and how much food I’m putting in my body. Idk that’s just my theory. But I do strongly believe that there have been a lot of people doing fasting wrong. I feel so much healthier after Ramadan and more connected to God, after the regular days of eating recklessly and forgetting/putting God aside.

I have been a victim of the Ramadan rage.
The Muslim electrician I called home for some repairs in the month of Ramadan was very rude, spiteful and all grrrrr.... I did the mistake of offering him water as is an Indian custom to guests at home, it gets really hot outside. He was following the fast, he got super angry and barked. He did apologize the next day, but pushed the blame on the Ramadan fast for his erratic behaviour.
Its a Fast for the rich people who can afford to take naps all day, not poor who have to go to work!

And what's worse about Ramadhan is that you're supposed to be *more* patient even though it's unreasonable to expect someone to not be at least a little grumpy when they're hungry and thirsty. Strong emotions in general is highly discouraged in Islam so maybe that's why a lot of muslims are so emotionally stunted.

I worked in the middle east for 10 years. We were warned not to get involve with the practices of islam for our own good. In ramadan the saudis would disappear in the day time hardly anybody at work they would sleep and eat at night however the migrant workers were forced to work out in the sun not eating or drinking. Worked for 3 years in KSA as a nurse in hospital Emergency dept. We dreaded Ramadan, by 10-11pm every night we were inundated with patients with gastro issues, abdo pains, diarrhea etc. due to the excessive gorging that went on. It was absolutely awful..!

Fasting is actually beneficial but only if you break your fast with low fat, low carb, fibre rich diets in small quantities giving your body time to recover. Fruits are ideal for breaking fast. But if you eat 5kg meal cooked in oil, cheese, meat. You're basically punishing your body for your tongue.

When muslims just don't eat in the day and then stuff their bellies in the privacy of their homes at night, thus not reducing caloric intake at all, it's not fasting - it's just waiting to eat. So in conclusion, ramadan is about being a hypocrite, showing others how "pious" you are and how much you are able to "sacrifice", when in reality it's all just deceit.

not eating during the day (for a few hours) isn't "fasting". To benefit from fasting it has to last at least 19 hours (straight) and of course more is better. Dehydration is not good.

The Qur’an mentions in Surah Baqarah chapter 2 verse 183
"O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint". [Al-Qur’an 2:183]
Psychologists say that if you can control your hunger, you can control almost all your desires. The Qur’an rightly mentions that fasting helps you to learn self-restraint i.e. in controlling your desires.
2. Helps to inculcate good habits:
Along with fasting during the holy month of Ramadhan many Muslims do good deeds like charity, helping the poor, etc. which later on become a part of their routine activity in their lives.
3. Helps to Overcome many Evils:
In the holy month of Ramadhan, besides fasting, the person tends to be more pious which helps to overcome many evils. If a person can abstain from smoking cigarettes from dawn to dusk in Ramadhaan, he can also abstain from smoking cigarettes from the cradle to the grave. Smoking is haraam forbidden in Islam. If a person can abstain from drinking alcohol from dawn to dusk, he can also abstain from drinking alcohol from the cradle to the grave. All intoxicants are forbidden in Islam.
4. Every Machine requires servicing:
Every Machine requires regular servicing. We service our car or motor-cycle once every 3 to 4 months. The more complicated a machine is, more is the requirement for servicing.
5. Fasting is Servicing of Human-Beings:
If you allow me to call human-being a machine, I would say it is the most complicated machine on the face of the earth. Don’t you think it requires servicing? According to me, fasting during the month of Ramadhan is the annual servicing of the human body and spirit, i.e. once in a year during one complete month.
6. Fasting gives rest to Body:
During fasting Muslims abstain from food, drink, etc. from dawn to dusk. While fasting many organs of the body get rest which is important for their good health.
7. Medical Benefits of Fasting:
a. Increases the Intestinal absorption: Fasting increases intestinal absorption.
b. Lowers cholestrol: Fasting also lowers cholestrol level which prevents several Cardio-Vascular diseases.

I feel lucky to be from an Orthodox Christian background. Our fasting is basically a vegan diet, which is ethically good, and quite healthy.

As a Christian man when I was in my 30's and 40's when I felt called to fast, I would do so for 2,3 or 4 days not eating only drinking water, it was very good for my prayer life. The only problem I ever had was people pushing food at me and me trying to keep my fast private.

You're right bro. My mom prepared all the food. She heated the food that was in the fridge, cooked and all that was left was to eat. When my father saw that the food wasn't on the table, he got angry and insulted my mother before the adhan had even been sung, my mother's and my psychology was shattered before the adhan had even been sung. As soon as the adhan was sung, the first thing he did was cursing. My father, who is crazy, gets even crazier when he is hungry. I live in a country where some women are killed for not putting bread on the table and beaten for not cooking. However, in the origin of Turks, men and women were equal, they fought together in wars and did everything together. It makes me very, very sad that the country has become like this. I am completely against the idea that Men are superior to Women. I am in favor of equal rights. I hate it when a man beats a woman and everyone watches (this recently happened. As a Christian living in a primarily Muslim nation, my heart goes out to my neighbors. We have 6th-graders attending school hungry and thirsty, and diabetic old women sitting in the sun watching sheep while dehydrated and dressed in stifling layers. At least this year it is May, and not June/July as it was a couple years ago. I have often thought of joining the fast out of solidarity, but then I just can't bring myself to do that to my body! I do fast for health and spirituality--the two overlap significantly in my faith, because the God I know gave me my body as a gift to be cared for wisely, and when in optimum condition, I can be more in tune with Him. This NEVER includes dehydration, binging, or any other form of self-mutilation. Only a sadist would require that.

Also, Ramadan is kind of difficult in parts of the world where you get a lot of sunlight during the month. For instance, here in Finland sun went down at 10:20 PM and will rise at 4:08 AM. This gives a Ramadan worshiper 5 h and 48 min to eat and (more importantly) hydrate.
What you say is correct. I lived in Riyadh and Jeddah for about 8 years combined. Most slept very late in the day, maybe went to work, then stayed up all night long eating. The whole month is a restaurant and retailers dream. Granted the whole exercise is more challenging during the longer days of summer.
The funniest rule of modern fasting was how residents in higher levels of the Burj Khalifa have to wait longer than those on lower levels to break their fast due to their angle change of sunset on the horizon.

It was amusing when some Muslims had travelled to Finland but suddenly realised they would starve to death as there is 24 hours of sun in the summer, so Allah didn't tell Muhammad about the seasons and the tilting of the earth, to ensure they can follow the rules, or is it that he didn't actually know there was a place on earth that has 24 hours of sun, because he didn't actually know the earths tilt or the orbit etc 🤣😂

I’ve been a Muslim my whole life and I’ve been fasting in Ramadans too. I do feel like it is SUPER easy to overeat during fasting since you’ve been empty stomached the whole day, and I’ve been there before. But now I really try to control my eating, focusing my intake, and drinking a whole lot more. I go to school, work out, do house chores while fasting, which really makes me even easier to overstuff my stomach, but I do believe if I drink enough, it is easier for me to see what kind and how much food I’m putting in my body. Idk that’s just my theory. But I do strongly believe that there have been a lot of people doing fasting wrong. I feel so much healthier after Ramadan and more connected to God, after the regular days of eating recklessly and forgetting/putting God aside.
So allah does not understand geography. If so he is not all mighty!
