I never thought I would be watching videos about grist mills, but I gotta say now I’m intrigued. Until your videos, I must also admit that I didn’t know the function of a grist mill. Thanks for showing me and explaining the process.
I am not that mechanically inclined but you explain this sort of stuff so well and make it look so easy that even I can follow along and understand it. Thank you!! Hope you and Little Miss Cutie Pie Charlotte have a great weekend! I hope you are getting to enjoy some mustards now too. I ate some baby mustards for breakfast today. I cooked some crumbled breakfast sausage and sautéed the greens in the same skillet.😋
Thank you Lea for that kind compliment. I am glad you enjoyed. Thank you and hope you do also ! Yes I sure have but hadn’t been able to share that because we have had company when I fixed it ! Lol. That sound really good Lea !
Enjoyed this FUN FACT FRIDAY my friend! I love watching and learning about this old machinery and the facts that you share!! Thank you for sharing these Friday videos! 👍🏻🙌🏻😊👊🏻
I like ingenuity when working on, or fixing anything, because my grandpa taught me to fix a lot of thing's, and not always normal or safe lol. We always managed to get whatever challenge fixed. My grandpa was a mechanical engineer, and worked for consumer's power, and he told me a crazy story, that the guy's who worked with him verified at his funeral. My grandpa engineered a large turbine generator, and none of the guy's that worked with him believed his turbine would work. My grandpa stood in front of this massive turbine, and told them to fire it up. The guy's told him it wasn't gonna work, and he would be killed. Gramps insisted, and they fired it up and it ran perfect. I always learned that there is a way to fix most anything, even if you need to make a part. I like fff friday, ya see domething good every week. Your daughter sure is cute, and being an only parent can be hard at time's. God bless.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I really enjoyed the story. Thank you for watching ! Yes it sure can, but it is a blessing tho. God bless you too !
Your belt looks like the belt for my treadle sewing machines. Your video is perfect for showing how to connect the ends together! I have collected and repaired two old treadles. One has a walking foot that was used for repairing thick overalls. I use both for quilting. Justin, thank you for rescuing these old machines so they can be used. I love watching your channel!
This was very interesting. Thank You! Your daughters look a lot like you Justin. I enjoyed hearing the rain. Winter is my favorite season. And I love cloudy rainy days. I would love sitting on your big back porch where you were shucking your corn and watching it rain or snow,
Well. Why did I not think of that?! I have sewing machines that use the same belt and I was using an awl to make the hole which not super fun. At all.. Next time, I will use a drill! Much safer! Thanks!
You just have to love the fff's. And I see that your subscribers numbers are climbing quickly. Good and informative content goes a long way for that and it shows. Thank you for the video.
Interesting Justin, thanks! Are you as sick of the rain as I am? We needed it bad, it was pretty dry in this area but it's plenty wet now. You & the family have a great weekend!
Hey Justin, that belt looks just like the one on the old black Singer treadle sewing machines. I've replaced dozens and dozens of those. The exact same way. I have bought and fixed so many of those machines. Many are still being used by the Amish as they do not need electricity. I taught my self how to fix them I just started takin them apart and fixing as I went. I can fix them recondition them and even adjust settings to work as intended. Take care bye for now
Did you cut the belt from a special grade of leather? It was simple but quite brilliant the way the belt connections was able to run the gears cw and ccw. Curious on how much torque it requires to run the fan? Nice video thank you.

Thank you for sharing! I’m sure it is. Thank you for all that you do to preserve !
Looks just like a treadle sewing machine belt!
About the same Tim
Congratulations on hit 1k so quickly.
Thanks Seng ! Hope you are well my friend !
That's a twist next time my finishing mower or bush hog belt goes out I might use that as a quick option.
Sounds good T-Paw !
Amazing🌱
Thanks F&G !

Just standard leather belt. Used mostly on sewing machines. Very little torque. Only resistance is air and the bearings.
Where's a good place to purchase round belt material?
I got this on eBay Jeff.
