CYBER CRIME: How POS MACHINE Is Being Used For Fraud ! VOID transactions.

- CYBER CRIMINALS have come up with yet another way to use card details to steal money, investigators have said. Cases have come to light where fraudsters have used credit card swiping machines, such as the ones in use in stores, for fraudulent transactions.
Until now, criminals, after obtaining victims’ credit card details, would use the information to make online transactions. But with the new way, they can use the details to obtain cash.
An officer with the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) said during a recent raid at a hideout used by a Rajasthan-based cyber-crime gang, investigators found several point of sale (POS) machines. Probe revealed the gang had claimed to have been running a shop. “They had actually paid Rs 30,000 to rent a place in order to get the POS machines,” the officer said.

It took me some time to figure out how does it affect buyers, then understood that this video is for Merchants and not for the buyers. Its for merchant's protection and awareness.
He started the video like that, telling taking pos machine from bank and valid address proof has nothing to do with this. Only he has to say how customer can do fraud using your pos. Ajeeb log hai yaar. Kisko bachate hai kisko phasate pata nahi lagta.

Great information! Two points I would suggest to avoid these kind of scam:
1. The POS machine mustn't be handed over to any unknown person unattended.
2. The POS machine must also have some kind of PIN to approve these kind of VOID SALE requests.
Instead they should avoid having such function in PoS machine.
What if customer return their product immediately after purchasing. Ex- product may be faulty / wrong product or any other reason.
When smartphones can have fingerprint scanner then why not the pos for each and every credit or debit transaction.
@@viralmistry6349 this is a necessary function in case wrong amount is being processed, which is entirely possible as we humans make mistakes.
@@arkaprabha_das probably cost is a factor, a pin would be equally effective without increasing cost.
That was really shocking and new. I have written about POS systems in the past but didn't knew about such kind of fraud.

I hope merchants don’t deny customers to use this void option as this is very imp when an approval of incorrect tran amount is processed.
Banks also should use an approval method after transactions, to avoid online fraudulent transactions.
It's important police department should advise banks to provide an approval button for all online payments.
It's better to accept a small delay in payment rather than fall into a fraud.

Is video se ye pata chala ki transaction ko void bhi kar sakte hai. Bohot se businessman bolte abhi transaction swipe ho gaya, agar apka mann badalta hai toh cancellation ka option nahi dete hai. Ab pata chala ki cancellation ho pata hai. Thank you

This fraud can totally be avoided if you dont give the POS machine to anyone/customer who asks.
The merchant should operate the card swipe machines only.

In all this I did not understand why would you hand your POS to your customer unattended. It is a financial instrument and should be only handled by the handler and should only be handed to customer while making a payment. At all other point of time it should not be left unattended with customer. A simple common sense practice to have to avoid such losses.
A merchant would not give the POS machine to the buyer and say put the card, put the pin and give the receipt of the transaction you're doing. It is freaking common sense 😂😂

One new thing i faced, when i used card to make payment first time it declined/failed(which he showed on screen/slip) he also but when i tried again second time the person said again declind/failed but dud not show the "screen/slip" i thought really card has some oroblem paid the amount through ZUPI. When i seenbthe statement when reached home what seen is first failed got returned but the secknd time i entered card for payment got credited to the person. You must always checn your statement and go and demand your money back.
