If Shinji would've used his shikai hypnosis ability, it would be very useful against an enemy that doesn't try to think and only go by instinct. I dunno about his bankai ability (I haven't read the manga), so it might be even more useful. Same with the others

Even if Vizards were mid-level captains, but with hollow boost and bankai (plus 4 of them in addition to the 4 vice captains), they shouldn't really lose. Shinji's shikai would even the playing field; making VL miss most of his attacks.

This is almost the same as sage mode. Whenever you lost concentration there will be consenquences like being a frog or being controlled by a monster. And both of these add really high power when you use them rightly but only ends fataly when you can't use it.
Hiyori seems to think that just because she is a vizard, she is invincible. But Ichigo is scared of his hollow for good reason. Not only does he not want to be consumed by it, he knows damn well the damage that his hollow can do. On top of that, Ichigo is not the type of person to start a senseless fight, nor will he kill. He considers the vizards his comrades and had no intention of hurting any of them. Too bad she does not see him the same way. What make this even better after you come back to this. Is that Hollow Ichigo LET her live. He didn't say anything and just choke her enough to forcefully remover her mask. If he wanted to, he could have crush her neck apound contact and taken the others out as soon they try to jump him. The first time I watched the episode when I was 9 and 4:06 was the scariest scene in bleaching, I got goosebumps at the time, Hollow Ichigo looked like a demon 😂
People are confused why it took captain level shinigamis just to pin down hollow Ichigo. Think about it this way.. The reason why the Vizards are cocky is because they don't just have a normal hollow in them, they have Menos/Gillian/Adjuchas level hollows. Hitsugaya explained that Gillians are just foot soldiers or trash compared to Adjuchas that's why Adjuchas commands Gillians, they're just pawns. But the most powerful type is the Vasto Lorde which is some god level shit that commands all. They didn't know that Ichigo has a Vasto Lorde inside him which by the way was not even complete form but they still needed all of them to pin him down. So you can think about it like - Incomplete Vasto Lorde vs 7 Adjuchas
Any one of them could've done it alone they were all together just make sure they were holding him down. If he was that strong we would've noticed him being able to struggle.
Remember, Vizards hollow are the first generation of Aizen experiments. While Ichigo's hollow is the first prototype that succeeded. And from that point Aizen used White Technology to create the current espadas. So Vizards are the first era espadas prototype White Ichigo is the successor and the prototype of current Espadas.

scene is so satisfying, Hiyori talked so much trash and bashed Ichigo for being afraid of his hollow, we'll he clearly had every right to be, white was way stronger than her hollow by far.
Hiyori was with her vizard mask, in control, ichigo loose it to his hollow kill machine. Hiyori's hollow wasn't there since she mutated for the first time a 100 years ago, you see how masked ichigo (in control) was way weaker than the hollow here or against ulquiorra?
I always thought that was the point, she was deliberately goading him into letting the hollow out when he was trying so hard to surpress it. In the end she just underestimated how strong it would be😂😂
If Ichigo Zangetsu hollow form came out instead, it would been so hard to defeat him and he'll destroy everyone.... plus the mask would been alot harder to break off lol.

This is almost the same as sage mode. Whenever you lost concentration there will be consenquences like being a frog or being controlled by a monster. And both of these add really high power when you use them rightly but only ends fataly when you can't use it.

Hiyori seems to think that just because she is a vizard, she is invincible. But Ichigo is scared of his hollow for good reason. Not only does he not want to be consumed by it, he knows damn well the damage that his hollow can do. On top of that, Ichigo is not the type of person to start a senseless fight, nor will he kill. He considers the vizards his comrades and had no intention of hurting any of them. Too bad she does not see him the same way. Its funny how all of them look at him with contempt, then get scared when his hollow REALLY comes out. At least now they know what they are dealing with.
Still hands down my favorite Anime of all time

By this point in the season Ichigo could barely use any of his spiritual energy without White immediately grasping for dominance of his soul. Even just walking around in his human form his Hollow would bubble up to the surface. Hiyori was asking for it.

@4:14 I love that part. The art and soundtracks made Bleach what it was for me. The fight scenes were exhilarating. Ichigo was quite annoying and stupid . . . I didn't realize that back then.

He didn't say anything and just choke her enough to forcefully remover her mask.
If he wanted to, he could have crush her neck apound contact and taken the others out as soon they try to jump him.
But instead, he decided to play the 'monster' to not only make them realize that he is strong enough to whoop their ass, but also appear mindless so they can make Ichigo stronger.
He could have appear and said something like "You want to see me! Well here I am! You should have stay in bed little girl, cause Ichigo been keeping this monster away for a reason!"
And then kill them.
But instead just slightly choke her to put their power different on shoe and scare the hollow out of her.
This show that Hollow Ichigo, didn't even took them that seriously.
He only show them what they wanted and that it.

what is the episode?
People are confused why it took captain level shinigamis just to pin down hollow Ichigo.
Think about it this way.. The reason why the Vizards are cocky is because they don't just have a normal hollow in them, they have Menos/Gillian/Adjuchas level hollows. Hitsugaya explained that Gillians are just foot soldiers or trash compared to Adjuchas that's why Adjuchas commands Gillians, they're just pawns. But the most powerful type is the Vasto Lorde which is some god level shit that commands all. They didn't know that Ichigo has a Vasto Lorde inside him which by the way was not even complete form but they still needed all of them to pin him down. So you can think about it like - Incomplete Vasto Lorde vs 7 Adjuchas

Remember, Vizards hollow are the first generation of Aizen experiments. While Ichigo's hollow is the first prototype that succeeded. And from that point Aizen used White Technology to create the current espadas. So Vizards are the first era espadas prototype White Ichigo is the successor and the prototype of current Espadas.
