I always enjoy your instructional videos. No frills, no gabbing, no blah, blah, blah; just a pleasant voice speaking clearly and calmly what I need to do to make whatever awesome thing you are making. Thank you.
I made these today but made the flap using a different fabric! Pink linen as the main fabric and blue gingham linen for the flaps and ties. They are so cute thank you so much!!!!
Gung Hee Fat Choi Angela!! I like this ! When my kids were young, their pillow always come out of the case …no idea why. This case would solve that problem. This is great for university kids in dorm too. Great for that summer road trip or kids who go to camp. Great 👍 tutorial!
I had been looking for a long time for pillow cases with flap and ties. Video easy to follow. I’m a little intimidated by French seams but will give it a go. Lovely pillowcases! Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome! Don’t be scared of the French seam. Make sure to press open the first seam and when you do the second line of stitching, you can even use a wider seam if you are worried. This way the raw edges definitely won’t show on the good side😊
Your work is outstanding. I like how you are very methodical, creative and neat. If you have time would you sew a zippered bed pillowcase tutorial? Would appreciate it!
Love this!! I sew the burrito style pillowcases for a charity; those are fun, but these are just lovely. If course I will be trying it. Thanks for another super project, Angela! 😊
Hi, thanks for a great tutorial. I would love to have this kind of pattern to make a baby mattress cover. If you could help me with the measurement, May i know how many inches should i add for the envelope for length 71cm x width 107cm. Thickness 5inch. Sorry for my poor english. Im from Malaysia❤
Hi from Australia. You probably need about 20cm of overlap but you’ll also need to box out the corners if you want a really nice fit. Have fun. Test out with scrap fabric or pin a sheet in place to see what measurement works best.
Hi! I am trying to make a two-sided pillowcase for a pillow that measures 20x37 and I want to make a flap for the inside to cover the pillow and use french seams to finish the edges I want your opinion if you have time. I plan on cutting a 22x44 piece of fabric for each side so in this case one side will be white and one side will be pink and I will have two separate pieces of fabric. In the end I would like to have both edges folded in using one of the folded in edges as a flap. Do these measurements seem correct to you? Let me know what you think and if you have any tips to share I would appreciate your time. thank you!☺️
You only need to add ½” as seam allowance for sides with the French seam if you want a snug fit. For the length, you need to decide how much of a fold over you want. I would cut out the fabric at the length you stated and just pin and fold together to get an idea of how it will look. From there you can adjust the length before sewing together. I do a lot of sampling before producing a video and that is how I determine measurements.
Hi...it's blessings to subscribe into channel..lovely work... Need to clarify...u have mentioned the length 72" on fold...which means when it's folded one side is 36". Appreciating your prompt response in this. Thank u for your light❤
