The small 45W power supplies first came with the XPS 13 9370 almost 2 years ago I think... I couldn't find a spare one to buy, because I like to have one at home and one in the office. Had to call Dell and get one through support as an "out of warranty" replacement part loll, because they didn't sell them officially in their shop.

Yes, I tried it with an RTX 2070 Super, I wasn't at all impressed. eGPUs IME are a disappointment and a compromise too far: they tend to be unreliable and don't offer anywhere near the performance of a native PCIe connection.

Horrible experience, I was in that rabbit hole of drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling. I finally found my sanity, returned everything to B&H, and bought a custom PC desktop for just a few more dollars. Powerhouse of a machine. Good way to begin a new year. I don't ever want to think about eGPU's again. Lol (I'm hoping my laptop eventually forgives me)
This is a design defect product, I bought last year, all the rubber strips are peeled due to the heat of CPU. And it’s not under warranty. You will need to pay a whole shell cost to fix and no guarantee for whether it will happen again or not
Thanks for the review; very helpful. Just a comment regarding Thunderbolt: I have a Thunderbolt port on my Dell Latitude and use it with TB15 (the older version of TB16) and it works very reliably. I also use an external GPU at times using that port and that has always worked too.

If you lose interest after ten minutes, you're either a tire kicker with no attention span, or have more money than sense and no attention span. How about when you've made your purchase you do a video? You have zero content, so let's see what you've got. Let me tell you a secret: you can run the video at 2x. Or you can watch the other 5 and 10 minute videos from various influwankers who haven't paid for the device, and will give a gushing review based on a few hours' use. In your case I'd recommend picking the shortest one you can find, assuming you can make it past the intro without wetting yourself.

I have a question, if you don't mind: when using it in "tablet mode", isn't the keyboard forced against the surface? Or even when using it in your hands, doesn't it feel a bit cumbersome to be clicking on the keyboard on the other side of the screen ? (I'm assuming the system ignores the keyboard input)
If I need a keyboard in tablet, tent or flipped modes, I use the on-screen keyboard. The physical keyboard is disabled when it's in tablet, tent and flipped modes.

@@Oblante there's a tiny rubber near the screen that elevates the bottom in tablet mode so that the keyboard isn't rattling against the surface. I use mine mainly for taking notes in class and ive had a good exp so far. As for holding it, personally i don't really mind the feeling of keys on my finger since it'd most likely end up on my lab anyway as i browse
Thanks for the vid, really helpful. Do you happen to know if it's still using dynamic brightness adjustment? It's on my 9365 and it drives me bonkers, and there doesn't appear to be a way to turn it off.
@@jordanhefton2252 I think we're talking about different things 😃. Dell has a dynamic contrast adjustment so if the content in the screen is dark the laptop dims the screen, and then brightens the screen when content is light/white again. Environment lighting doesn't have to change.

This is basically what I use it for. Unfortunately (with a 4K screen, 32GB, 512K ssd), I only get about 6 hours of battery life. This is my only disappointment so far, and it is a major one. Ok I lied, the arctic white keyboard is also a disappointment. I should have known it would be hard to keep clean and bright. I understand that if you don't opt for the 4K screen, you can gain a few hours of battery life.
Anne Adelson in terms of the display, if you were to order this unit again would you still stick with the 4K display or opt for the FHD display and prefer longer battery life?
Say WhaItIs I would definitely go for the FHD lower resolution screen and opt for more battery life. I admit that the 4K resolution looks amazing, but on such a small screen it really doesn’t make a big enough difference.
I don't have an HP Spectre, but I do have an HP Zbook 360 G5 to compare it with. To be honest I don't get on with the stylus on either. I wish I did. I find it very difficult to write neatly.
Ive been using mine for note taking and i really enjoy the different features built in the laptop and the pen for taking notes. I liked that i didn't have to install other apps. I rarely had issues with my palm being on the screen as well. I heard you can calibrate it in the settings to make it more accurate but i didn't feel the need to
You didn't ask me, but I can tell you that at least on my model, the space bar is NOT mushy at the sides. I am very happy with the keyboard (but wish I had not upgraded to arctic white).

This can be adjusted under Display settings >> uncheck "change brightness automatically when lighting changes"

i returned mine, bad screen, bad keyboard, total disappointed.
